I have a dbox in Dublin connecting to Ntl.
I was having problems viewing some of the channels so i did a scan & now all of the channels are gone.

I really don't know what to do at this stage.
Some advice would be appreciated.
When did you lose the channels, what image/software are you using on the box?

The Dub commando image does work. But as you said you are not even picking up the time are you sure you have a live cable feed?

yes. i have the other working d box beside mine. when i connect the cable feed to this it picks up time straight away. its a strange one? i wonder if it is a physical problem rather than with software but the box has worked before and it has been treated with respect. thanks for fast reply!

Leave the Dub Commando image on it and try a booster. What BER/SNR/SIG are you getting?

Its to boost you signal if need be, but I need to know your BER/SNR/SIG first. And I presume you are using it from the direct feed that your working box was on.

OK let it flash as you said you have a working box beside it, I also know the image works. So last thing it may be a faulty tuner.

Not at all, as you release the Dbox is quite old now and like all things suffers with age. Could be something as simple as a dry joint.

Have you flashed the image and still no channels. If so maybe Bigdunc, wiz or Turner may be around later and may have other options. I have to leave for a bit but will be back later, don't give up, always someone here to help ;)

Just going to through this out again to see if anybody has any ideas or quick fixes. Got a dbox which is new enough that wont pick any channels, it did b4 but last sat it stopped. Is there away of pin pointing the problem if i have reflashed the image. Would it also makea difference if i FTP the services and bouquets over?

What image did you use and yes you would need to send over your services, unless you set your location and done a scan.

Hi guys, long time user of the forum have gotten some great advice from it thanks.

I have a nokia 2x and ive flashed blade quad several times but im having problems with freezing picture on certian channels. I assumed it was software as i thought that the digital signal would either be there or not no in between esp since i was getting the epg ok. Anyway my signal details are

On chanel i can view
ber 1070
snr 53000
sig 41000

On freezing Channel ( Sky Movies something, Picture freezes and sound continues broken up and chirpy)
ber 6105720
snr 52000
sig 41000

Would a booser clean it up? Also what do the ber snr and sig mean?

Thanks in advance

P

BER should be around 0-100
SNR is signal to noise ratio and usually ~64000 on mine
SIG is signal strength and is usually ~45000 on my nokia, less on sagem

Your BER is way off the scale so I suspect your feed might be faulty, I had one in a room with a crap coax that was pinched along the way. Try passing the coax into a video and then out again, this can clean and boost the signal. Also check all cables and try in a mates house.

If you what to try open the box and disconnect the moden plug connected to the board sometime with different image with a weak board over heats the tunner and power supply and result ends in the churping due to over heating

I think on 2 occasions I had boxes not working after a flash, even though the image looked fine I had no signal, so you may as well give it a go. Your normal TV can be fine with a poor signal though, so I would try it in another room/house to rule out signal problems.

I removed a few modems as mentioned, this is a lot easier on a sagem than on a nokia, getting into a nokia is hard enough!
