lads i posted a few threads back saying about a nokia dbox2 that wouldnt even pick up time or anything. after leaving plugged in for a few days it started working. however when i plugged it out and plugged back in it was same story again, nothing. would this indicate that maybe there is a problem with cable and maybe need a booster? or does it sound like a tuner problem? any help greatly appreciated.. thanks

Hey everyone,
I have a Nokia DBox2 here in Dublin on NTHELL.
My image is Sportster Neutrino
Date: 19.06.2005
Release Cycle: 2.0
Image Type: Release
Yesterday evening all of my channels went missing except RTE1, RTE2 and Channel 6. When I do a service scan, it looks as if it picks up all the channels. I even get the program listing for all the channels but I just can't see them. I've tried updating the image with some images I got from yadi.org but each time I try a manual update, I'm told that the image I have is wrong (wrong relase cycle).
I'm unsure if I even need to upgrade my image. Could anyone please tell me where I'm going wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Hey,
I'm a bit of a newbie to dreamboxes etc. so I'm just asking for some info/a guide/anything that will help me.
I'm going to college in cork next year & im just looking for info about getting a dreambox and getting chor*s on it?
Just pretty much what I would need to do and buy and how feasible this is.
If I should have read some noobs guide before this I apologise and you can redirect me to one.
Thanks

this thread is for Dbox2 not Dreambox
If you need info on dreambox's, it is all there for you if you search thru the forums
i sent you a PM with a link to where you can find some guides
Just be patient and be willing to fail and succeed and eventually learn.
You will need to learn how to Flash a box and how to FTP
Enjoy.. its a doddle when you get the hang of it

Hi,
I've been using Blade Quad on three Sagem DBox2 units for a while now and for the most part I am really happy with this image. Recently though I've found that it is freezing very frequently. Is anyone else having this problem? Can anyone recommend a really stable image for N*L Dublin that they have been using and like? I need a 1X and 2X image.
All help is really appreciated....
Cheers!

Have a look in Eamos at the end of my post. The Dublin Commando and Dublin Virgin+ 2x images are the most stable I have used. I havent got a Sagem so only use 2x images. Although I would recommend the Virgin+ 1x also, although you will need to add the necessary files to the 1x image and change the Net ID.
The two 2x images I have recommended I have already done the work for you in regards to adding and editing files ;)

Sagems can go faulty and begin to give chirping noises. Luckily you have the best image to fix them though.
First press blue and go to "keys options" or "key transfer" "keys transfer", you may have to press blue again to go to the blade menu to see this. Now you want to transfer evocamd keys to gbox.
Now you have to go to the blade menu and go to emu settings and activate gbox. Now reboot and gbox should be running which should solve the chirping.
BUT if keys roll again you must change to evocamd, decode, transfer keys and turn on gbox again.

Some advice would be appreciated.
I'm missing some channels also & am wary of doing a scan as I was warned against it because of the above. NTHell Dublin Andromeda. Any sugestions would be greatly appreciated.

The chirping noises on the segems are mostly down to overhearing i made my own fan to keep it cooled down

Thanks for the responses guys. I will try the Virgin+ images and see if there is any change. I agree on the Sagems overheating, they do get very hot. Failing that I will try the key transfer to Gbox.
Thanks Again.

I am trying to update the image on my nokia box. I am using the Hallenberg flashing assistant. I've used it before and had no problem. Now when I follow all instruction, on the pc it moves about 5 bars and then stays like that until i cancel (have left it up to an hour, no further movement). And on the box it just loads up as if its plugged into the tv (loads for about 30seconds and then the channel appears on the lcd).
Any help would be much appreciated.

Did you hear these rumours from a 'reliable source' ???
Whatever you say, say nothing when you talk about you know what for if you know who might hear you, you know what youll get. Youll be sent off to you know where for you would not know how long. Maybe I could search through the threads so you dont have to ??
