Hello
This would be my first post on DBOX.
I already have a DBOX2 running andromeda-v2x image. I am very happy with it.
I have now bought another DBOX2 from someone who said it requires flashing of a image and might be capable of Satellite veiwing.
My question is
1. What is the latest image for me to flash on it and where do I get it?
2. If Satellite viewing is possible, then how?
Thansk in advance

I've downloaded the Virgin image to my DBox2 and I'm now trying to ftp the add-on's via FileZilla. What is the username and password for the Virgin image as I can't find it anywhere? Cheers.

Have you checked all your connections as it looks like no signal. When you say all channels are gone does this include FTA channels?

Could be a faulty tuner. You could try another image or just try changing the CAM or Ucode. But from past experience if you can get channels on your TV and cannot get FTA on the Dbox when waiting for time come up, it usually isn't a good sign.

Make sure the coax is tight on the RF in socket. It helps the tighter it is but as you said it could be on its way out. There are guides about on how to fix the tuner, but hopefully you wont have to do this.

Hi guys, just a quick question..
I've been trying to flash a couple of d-boxes tonight, and the first sagem box was fine, no problems at all, flashed it using ftp.
Second one is causing some bother though.. It's a nokia box. It struggled to boot up intitially (hence the need for a re-flash).. and I was going to stick on the Andromeda 2.0 image on it.
Along with issues with the box starting up, it also had a tendancy to randomly restart it'self while it was on.
I tried to flash it using FTP, but couldn't get it to connect to my network, so I thought I'd try the image flashing assistant (without null modem cable). Nothing came up on the LCD as I tried it... and now the box won't even hint at booting up.
Is the box totally fried, or can it be saved with the image flashing assistant, and the aid of a null modem cable to see what it's doing while it's doing it?
As a bit of background, the booting up problems mentioned above was basically that the box would sometimes look like it's not in debug mode... (i.e. the numbers don't come up on the LCD, it was a company name instead, possibly the company tha tput the normal dbox software on it intiially).. then sometimes it would go into debug mode (i.e the numbers would appear on the LCD).. it would re-boot it'self while loading the kernal, then EVENTUALLY, it would boot up... but after a few mins, it would either freeze, or reset it'self again.
I've had a very frustrating evening/morning!

As I have the knowledge of flashing the BDOX2 via FTP and Remote I thought to buy another DBOX2 from eBay. This is what the description was "Had this dbox for about 12 months and it has worked perfectly, I haven't used this box for a few months now it has lost all the channels. According to other people I need to reflash a image to box and update the keys or something. I haven't got a clue what to do hence selling it as faulty and no returns."
Today I received the box and connected it up. The Box is not displaying anything on TV, not the boot nor menu - nothing. Everything is visable via the LCD. So I decided to connect to the network. From the menu I setup the IP address settings correctly but I was not able to ping or connect via it.
I have also tried to flash via IFA but with no luck. The IFA 3.1 says waiting for the DBOX to start.
Please can someone help me. Give me advise on what to do or have I just bought a deadbox from eBay???

I have tried it with the null cable and no luck. Its very strange to think the Network port and the Scart connections are dead. I was really hoping to flash it to see if it fixes this. Its really getting fustrating. Any more advice please...

On my Sagem dbox I am able to enter new keys via the handset.I have a friends Sagem dbox that I am also trying to enter the new keys via the handset, however, the box will not accept them. I've been informed that I need to " ftp the rom image to enable auto update ". Firstly, I am a newbie and would appreciate it if anyone has an idiots guide to dboxes. Secondly, in lamens terms please, could you explain the ftp the rom image ?. your patience is appreciated.

Everywhere :) Joking apart look in Eamos at the end of my post. If you need it just for TV try the Virgin 2.1 image, (please download the readme also). Or if you want to record/stream also try Blade Quad. Do you have a Nokia or Sagem?
