A-Data make cheap, nasty memory. It suffices for cheap regular office PCs, but I'd never put it in a gaming build.
As for Mushkin, it seems to perform quite well, but there has to be a reason why nobody uses it around here. I mean we've all heard of it. The last time I looked it wasn't price-competitive in the normal market, and in the high end market Crucial Ballistix have pretty much everything beat.
Greensman: No thanks mate, at current prices I couldn't even afford the console on its own right now! GH3 has been organised for me for christmas anyway!

Good info fellas, keep it up.

Hey guys what about the g-skills 1066 a 2 gb set is $125 USD. They put some decent numbers. The only thing is you have to bump the voltage to 2.45 to run at 44412 but still decent for the price.
Case=Antec Lanboy, Psu=Corsair HX620, Mobo=GA-X58A-UD5,Ram=Gskill 1600Mhz 3x2gigs,Cpu=I7 950 4Ghz,Cpu Cooler= EK 240 Water Kit,Gpu=HD6870x2,Eyefinity Set up,Ssd=Gskill Phoenix Pro 120gb

That's quite a high voltage for RAM really, I'm not sure I'd want to push RAM that high.

It depeds on what kind of OC you plan on. If it were me again back when new, $70. would be a deal and well worth it to bring that temp and vcore for my same 4GHz OC. Now if I had to keep it on my P35C-DS3R, then of corse since it has high vdroop and general system overcolting without clear report of in-use/workng voltage. For example, I like the 500x8 OC, but for my E6750, it needs to be 1.57v on my ASUS X38 and upto 1.62v descktop to drop to 1.57v loaded. The E6850 can reach 500x8 w/ less vcore to 1.52~1.54v so if on the Gigabytes w/ large vdroop, it only means 1.56~1.60v @ idle.
So as you can see, you have many options. If patient and have some money left after the holidays, then go for the E6750 for today and opt for a E8200 later in a few months or the E8190 naxt month for $163.00 and get the OC quality of the E6850 (and maybe more) on the new 45nm Penryn Wolfdale.
As the others say, good RAM is worth it since you can be better at a nice 1:1 with good tight tmings. DDR1000 4-4-4-9 feels as good as DDR1150 5-5-5-12, I'm using both. If you only judge on bench, t wll look better in numbers for the DDR1150 but real world for DDR1000 feels great and is stable too for mobos picky with ACPI function.
Good luck!

Double Click and Fast Click removal?
o.K. guys, I know it's off the OC topic but it is effecting one of my overclocks and OS on both Server 2003 and MCE 2005.
Anybody have experience with removing doubleclick and fastclick items effectively? What is a good cookies or spybot scanner/removal tool? This is the pesty cookie or reg edit that effects your mouse double-click and sometimes right-click, as well as fast-clicking.
Thankx!

Double Click and Fast Click
theyre just cookies, theres nothing malicious about them just advertising cookies, they wont effect your overclock.
spybot search and destroy s a handy app, if you want to block bad sites, scan for a few trojans / dialers and some adware, just dont use the teatimer part of it.
double click and fast click, are easy to remove all you have to do is empty your temporary internet files.
if you think you have a spyware issue, download and install, spy bot search and destroy from - safer networking, adaware from lavasoft, and avg anti spywarefrom grisoft, runing all of these remove most nasties.
if you have any other problems there are specific fixes depending on what it is.

I didn't mean it effects my overclock in any way other then it is just a pain plain and simple.
On 2 PC's in my home, I was not told of it till weeks so this may be a factor here. deleting all cookies, temp files, and regstry related changes did nothing. the cookies were renamed with a (1) or (2) at the end indicating they were being renamed or backed up. So I pulled HDD's and scaned with Panda on a Server and did the same thing all over and still nothing. In only seconds of opening IE. they are put right back.
I scanned with both Panda Active Scan in an remote state since it is not X64 complient and also with a little free app called SpyHunter. However, I hear not so good thngs about this app. What do you guys hear of it? It does appear to show a report of items not seen by others so it is going somewhere. I just look up the items listed and manually remove remotely.
I am about to try the same on a new MCE rig that only showed up as problem last night and see if I can nip it in the bud. But for the one media server and xp x64 rig, they are put on the back burner for later test.

forget spy hunter it cn detect stuff but removes only about 20% of what it finds.
use the 3 i mentioned before, and if your still not having any joy steven goulds cleanup, and asquared free which is good at removing stubborn files.
but to be honest its probably your home page putting fast click and doule click cookies on your system.

That was also true with the GA-P35-DS3R Rev. 1.0. That problem was addressed with the Rev. 2.0! the voltages all stay slightly above the correct voltages, and the vdroop is negligable, from Idle to full load, a mere .03v drop in CPU voltage. I guess that's why the Rev. 2.0 takes less voltage to get it stable than the Rev. 1.0!
sammorris,
How's the vdroop on your P35C-DS3R? How stable are your voltages?

My vdroop at the 500x7 profle is setting f 1.4325 to equal 1.39 in idle desktop and 1.36 loaded. This mobo does fine to 500FSB since it only need the .02 overvolting to keep stable weather at 8x or 7x. devders are more demanding and such are not as stable untill I step dawn to 480x8.
As for the cookies, it looks more like FastClick now. I use Yahoo as me home page on 2 of 3 and MSN on 1. I dont use any custom toobars other then what is installed by Adobe for convert to PDF and on 1 rig use the Norton toolbar, but can be removed as I dont really need it there.
I am open to and will try the ones mentioned. I am wlling to do manual removal if the scanners only search and list but do not remove.
This is what SpyHunter shows;
2o7 = 2o7 = cookie cookie name[1]text
Adrevolver = Adrevolver = cookie [1]text
Media = Media = cookie [1]text

i wouldnt worry about any of the cookies you have mentioed theyre all normal everyday cookies. you could always alter your ie settings to delete temp files upon closing to get rid of your cookies each time.

So why are they replacing every time I clean and restart? And if it's not them causing the FastClick issue what is then. I even set click to slow and it is still too fast to double click. If I slowly press down on left click and let go slowly, it is often OK, but more then often it acts as fast double click on files and folders causing apps to start or folders to open.
EDIT: I do and have neen for 5yrs now used AdAware and it is grest for everyday normal stuff. I'm am currently on 2007 Pro version, but it cant find or if it finds and removes, it comes right back after renamed or backed up.

In IE, select Tools--->Privacy--->Sites, then type in fastclick.com and select block. That should eliminate any cookies from that site.

the cookies your refering to are simply ads on the homepage. nothing to worry about.
antispyware nowadays is so rife on the net that it is better to have a full arsenal of anti spyware apps than rely on just one. anyway this is a bit off topic for an overclocking thread, there are plenty of good sites for discussing this sort of thing. =o)
The issues your having arent due to tracking cookies more likely a stability issue.

That even speaks more for Kaspersky 6.0 then because I haven't ever had any click problems with the mouse, ever! All I run is Kaspersky and Zone Alarm, and I'm not too sure how much longer Zone Alarm is staying. I run Tuneup Utilities 2007's 1 click Maintenance once a day and follow it up with 1 click Fixer. The XP-Pro on this hard drive was installed last May and was used 15 hours a day on line, until a couple of weeks ago. It works fine so why do a fresh install! I have a separate drive that the MB was installed with That's got the fresh install of XP-Pro on it! All I had to when I swapped drives was install the drivers for the new MB. I'm going to use it for a while and see how it compares in disk performance since they're identical 160 Seagate Sata 3.0Gb/s drives anyway.

NOT with YELLING and RIDICULE!!!!! We all make mistakes, I know that I have mistakes and his mistake was to put the wrong name in there.
I think a better response would have been: Hey theonejrs!! I didn't ask the question, NuckNFuts did. Hope it helps him. ;)
Much nicer and doesn't attack someone for their age or ability!!!!! And speaking of ability: behalf???????

As of today with only 2 weeks till better choices of quads, I'd say save your money for the Q9350 @ $266.00 or the Q9450 @ $316.00. But if you got a hole burning in your pocke like I do at times, then go for the E6550 for a all around fun OC'r on air to the same 500x7 the E6750 can do on air. Just to hold you over till next month. Just a thought.
I only say this cause I have the q6600 and it isn't all that of an overclocker if you like MHz especially and if not good mobo and chipset like the X38 or high end P35 with extreme tweaker BIOS and overvolting options to get it there. I have a buddy w/ the E5650 and it is cool on an X38 so I imagine not a big channalne on the P35/C-DS3R either. It was a nice CPUfor early this year to play with but I wouldn't buy one at this point in time considering.
Just "My Two Cents"
Hope it helps
