If anybody cares I burned MGS2: Substance to Verbatim DVD+R DL discs and it plays perfectly with my Matrix Infinity. The only two DL games I have burned are MGS2 and GT4. Both play perfectly in my modded v.4 PS2. Yes Alkohol is very knowledgble (and skilled at self promotion lol) and this thread definitely deserves a sticky.

@hursty
sup buddy?
I use imageshack and yes... it's totally free. Here's the link that I used it for all of my images posting at Afterdawn.com http://img283.echo.cx/
(**NOTE: in prior to upload your images, I recommend saving your pictures/images as PNG instead of JPEG -- PNG has more quality and use less KBS).

Updated 12-26-2005: "How to Book Type via DVD Decrypter when burning/using a DVD+R or DVD+R DL media"
Here is a guide on how to "book type" via DVD Decrypter. This is when you're "ready" to burn to the blank media (DVD+R DL, DVD+R, DVD+RW) only. NOTE: set both of your "source" and "destination" ready, then do the following and burn it. If for some reason the (DVD+R/DVD+R DL) doesn't work for you, then try the (DVD+R/DVD+RW/DVD+R DL - EEPROM!), it should work, if you have one of the drives that DVD Decrypter listed).

Updated 12-27-2005: "How to burn PS2 game using Nero Express, including NEED FOR SPEED MOST WANTED"
This is just a "mini guide" for those that have not burned their PS2 games using Nero Express and or this is mainly for burning any 4.5GB PS2 games or for burning "an already rebuild ISO PS2 games" only. Give it a shot and see how you like it. Again, the choice is yours (either ImgBurn, DVD Decrypter ro Nero is fine).
Enjoyed it, happy burning and Happy Holidays!!!!

ExPERT (Gnie's tool) is also able to put a DVD9 on to a DVD5.
You just have to choose which one you prefer.

@sulaim
Both (IML2ISO v4 and Expert) Gnie's tools are extremely useful, I recommend you to get both -- if one doesn't work, the other will get the job done.
I've been using Gnie's IML2ISO version 4 and it has never let me down. Honestly, I think Gnie's tool can rebuild ISO better than Apache 2, but that's only my opinion. However, Apache 2 can be useful to extract both layers as well.

@Sticker
MATRIX: Path Of Neo is only 4.37GB, you don't need to rebuild this game. However, if you want to "rebuild" it, then yes... it does work. The games that I rebuild is anything above 4.5GB (4.6GB) - 8GB only.
Good luck and keep us posted.

What version is your PS2? Mine was easy as sippin' on a diet-coke. Some older model are a little complicated, but you'll need to be very careful for "not" breaking that little white wire on the front under the top cover.

Matrix Path Of Neo don't need to rebuild, it's only 4.37GB -- I just backed up 2 backups 2 days ago on a YUDEN000T02 8X DVD+R media "Book Typing" into a DVD-ROM and it plays flawlessly. Basically, all you need to do is open up DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 and do the following. However, if you need more helps (meaning you're having troubles), then let me know and I can walk you through a "rebuilding" steps with pictures in here as well.
- MODE, ISO, Read R (to your hard drive and wait unitl it's completed)
- MODE, ISO, Write
- browse to your hard drive and choose the MDS file
- choose your burning speed to 4X and WRITE/Burn it (make sure you use high quality media like Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim "advanced azo or datalife plus" or Maxell "High Grade - made in japan by Hitachi Corp."
Let me know what's your new results.

I have a Doubt.When you rebuild what you do is take out videos and stuff from the game so it only gets to 4.7gb right? so, is there a way to recode the videos so u can still see them like shrinking the quality? it would be cool to have all the game even if its with less quality videos and stuff.

No your thinking of shrinking a DVD-9 or Dual Layer game to DVD-5 or single layer game. Rebuilding a game is creating an iso, extracting all the files with IsoBuster or Apache 2, and putting the files back together and burning them with Nero or creating a New iso with Expert or CD/DVDGen. When you do this, you must overwrite the dummy files. There are currently three methods of rebuilding PS2 games. Alkohol has written the best DVD-9 to DVD-5 guide, in fact it's this thread lol.
10. Q. What does rebuilding an iso mean?
A. It means that some games 4.36-4.38GB's may need rebuilt to work with Swap Magic. Games over 4.38GB's will need rebuilt. This isn't true for ALL games over 4.38GB's and differs on a game to game basis. There is no need to rebuild games if you have a modchip.
11. Q. How Do I rebuild games?
A. With Nero and Isobuster (works as long as no single file is over 2 GB's): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/197949 With CD/DVDGen: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/210515 With Expert (Gnie's new rebuilding tool):
Gnie's PS2 Auto Rebuilder Tool Download (Thanks to 3DLuis):
http://www.alucard.cc/ps2/ExPERT_v1.03.rar
Instructions to Gnie's Tool ExPERT:
From Anthony 05:
Download it and then follow these instrcutions and it will work.
1. select Shrinker_ps2_psp_CdDvd5_iso.epi on the plugins list.
2. Select the iso.
3. Click extract LBA
4. Click extract file
5. Click rebuild file
6. Click rebuild lba.
Make sure you do it in that order.
This worked for me when every other way failed.
It is very easy to do so even the noobies should be able to do it.
Keep in mind im backing up the PAL version, but if your having trouble backing up with NTSC then i dont see a problem trying.
Good luck.
