We'll see in the next 2 years methinks. Especially considering Microsofts intentions of a handheld. I reckon whether Nintendo picks up or not in home console sales, they'll stil remain king of Handhelds. Maybe the price of the Wii will make the difference. The DS outsold the PSP didn't it - in my opinion the PSP is a better unit, but the price tag definitely makes me think twice about which one to buy (first lol).

in japan ds sells more then psp. in USA and Europe psp sells alot more then ds. check the world wide sells.

psp has sold more units then ds world wide and the psp is the fastest selling playstation product to date.
this looks alot like the nintendo 64 - psx era in hand helds.
sony was new to the game like sony psp the 1st hand held to really give nintendo a hard time in the hand held market.
it struggle for the 1st year of two but after that the playsation will kill nintendo no doubt.
its a matter of time.

Surely, though, if Nintendo remains profitable despite heated competition (losing to MS and Sony) they will also remain in the console market? Nestle probably doesn't sell as much chocolate as Cadbury, but they haven't folded because of it...

I'm hoping the big N will pull off the miracle we all want to see and take over the market again!! PS3 (even with the outrageous price) Will most likely be crowned king again but who knows, maybe even the Sh*tBox 360 will win. Mind you it looks like Wii will have a pretty damn good line up this year.

Does it not make some of you upset that people can change their opinions so easily? I bet you that mudearies was totally laughing at Nintendo when they showed the controller in 2005. But now that Sony COPIED their idea, i bet you all the Sony fanboys are glad with the idea based just on the fact that Sony incorperated it. Hypocrisy?

More so, some ppl are so deranged in a couple of these forums they will defend Sony so far as saying they devoloped the controller on their own! I love Sony, I've said it many times. I am just being realistic when I say that Sony did not develop the ps3 and market it as well as its prior consoles, and its gonna show when the time comes that all 3 consoles are available.

I can't believe these people have the balls to bag Svtstang - he's one of the only dudes on these forums that isn't a close-minded fanboy - and I've never seen the guy flame. Go back and actually read some damn posts you morons, he said he likes Sony!! Forums are here for opinions not slander, I suggest all those who decide to post such accusations read the whole thread. How childish; I'll say it again - who wins this 'war' (god i hate the use of such a word upon such a trivial matter) is not important, it's simply enjoying whats on offer. Either way Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft are all earning their fair share, whether they have their pathectic fanboys boasting on these forums or not.
By the way last time I checked, this was a Nintendo Wii forum, and there are only a handful of members not bagging Nintendo's new console. Such comments as "PS3 will win blah blah blah" belong in the PS3 forums my friend!

Thanks Timmy, thats the most sensible post i have read in a while. I also dont understand cool's or mude's mindset, why do u feel it is necessary to bash others, especailly when u dont take the time to read posts that support ur fanboy systems?? I like Sony, always have. I try to help ppl that are having problems with their ps2's and psp's every day, but all u care to say is that "u flame sony......ur an idiot svt" I have read threads that both of u contribute to, and neither of u have offered anything worthwhile. Many ppl come to aD because they respect what the dedicated members have to offer, but ppl like u make me want to find another site to contribute to. I am not saying I am the smartest person on aD, or even close to that, but in my opinion, I offer a lot more to aD then only biased views about a videogame console that hasnt been released. Sorry to write so much, im just really pissed that ppl have the nerve to put down others that have views that are warratned, albeit different from ur own.

Well said SvtStang. Part of being opinionated is respecting other opinions. Thats why I'm here on these forums, and while i enjoy taking in others views and thoughts here on aD, I sometimes think that it's not worth my time, as simple discussions degrade into arguments fuelled by bias. Having said that this sort of acid tongued conversation simply stems from the passion we all have for video games and while not a bad thing, this often makes expressing ones opinion on these forums hard to do without copping flak from those not in agreement. Why can't everyone just enjoy the best of both worlds and focus on the positives each new console has to offer rather than pinpointing every possible shortcoming and preaching the superiority of one of the alternatives? I'm starting to think some of you blokes work for Sony!

hey i rarly linger out of the ps3 discussion. even though i own a x360 and my sisters will buy a wii. so hey i am unbiesed i will have played all 3 systems i am just saying from my own xperience with a 360 it is very negative and there are few games. (i mean were so desperate were buying pingpong) and for the wii red steel looks good but the wii is just over shadowed when it is coming out the same time as ps3 and i would rather play mgs4 than mario, and i was never a big zelda fan infact i'm not a big sword guy (except in japanese titles) and i like japanese games and that is where the x360 has its major faults it has good games but not the games i like that is all.

Dont u understand yet that are many Sony fans in these forums, even those that disagree with how the ps3 is being marketed and its price point? Wake up dude, you're the one who is suspended for flaming it is your own fault, not SvtStangs because you flamed. Just because you have negative opinions on something, doesn't mean you have to ridicule others who disagree...
