I feel that the Wii deserves to come out on top. I don't even know why Gamecube did not fare that well in terms of sales last time. I am not a Nintendo Fanboy (don't even own that particular system), but I like the games I played on the GC more than any game I have on PS2 or Xbox (except for MGS2).
I am really going to hold off on getting a console this time around. The ps3 is way too expensive and the xbox360 has nothing I like (I do not like Halo or any fps at that). The Wii seems interesting, but I may still hold off. Also, the only game I am interested in for the PS3 is MGS4, but no game is worth $700+ (system + game + tax).
Right now Wii is the only system with anything that is appealing to me and that is fun gameplay. I guess also the backward compatibility of GC and the older consoles is a big bonus.

I can't wait to get my hands on the Wii system. A totally new way to play games and interact with them. It's gonna be sweet. I think I might have to use a regular controller for Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Exactly, that is y i am excited about the Wii. Regardless of which system u buy, the graphics are going to be amazing, so that isnt an issue. Rather, which console is brining innovation to the the table is gonna break or makes the consoles when November rolls around.

Compared to 360 or PS3, the Wii's graphics will not be amazing so you can't say that. They may be "good" or "ok" but not "amazing"

For Nintendo it is amazing.
If a game was released on the PS3 or 360 with those graphics, people would laugh.
But even Nintendo will tell you it is not about the graphics, it is about gameplay. That is what they are selling.
PS. However it would be a wet dream to see whay Miyamoto could do on the 360 or PS3. He is severely limited by what he can do with the tools Nintendo gives him. Can you imagine if he made Zelda for the PS3?? ........... people would be jumping of roofs in ectasy......

That would be amazing to see, utter blasphamy, but amazing to see:) Ur right though, Wii does not have the graphical capabilities of the ps3 and 360, and nintendo is banking on gameplay.

Just think of how many more options they have in gameplay than Xbox360 or even the Ps3. The Wii controller is way more versatile than the Ps3's.
And just to add as a side comment, just think of the developers cost of developing the games for the Blu-ray disc.

In my opinion, o think Blu-ray is actually gonna b the downfall for the ps3. After launch, who is going to want to spend $80 bucks for a game? Their may be a few worth that amount of cash, but many fans will be turned off to pay half a months rent for a game that will be played for a week:/

For me and a lot of my friends no, I feel sick paying $40 for a game. im sure there will be a following that will buy these games because its Sony, but in terms of longevity, i dont think its gonna last.......

They're actually going to be that much?? Wow, Sony would be in a bit of trouble then. They took a gamble with Blue Ray. If the format is not successful for movies, it will severely lower the value (not price) of the system. For games, I do not see the point yet. I mean, Oblivion is on a single sided DVD for the PC and installs at about 4.18GB or so and that game is HUGE and filled with eye candy once the settings are turned up. What kind of games will need 25GB or 50GB??
The only thing I can see taking up that much space is a game that is basically a movie. Maybe Final Fantasy Games and such, but having more than one DVD9 would not be a big deal. I wonder if they will be throwing in tons of extra crap in games like they do with DVD movies. Stuff like "Making of MGS4...A 7 Hour behind the scenes documentary" Which features 18 audio tracks of uncompressed multichannel audio...

JaguarGod, u make a great point. the 360 does not utilize anything beyond DVD-9, and games like Oblivion look outstanding. Gameplay should be the focus, cause without it, the eye candy means nothing. I dont care about extras like behind the scenes and the making of.....and if thats what is being put on these games that cost my inheritance, id rather do without;)
