Well I'm out for a good week, having to convert about 600 episodes from DB/DBZ/GT. First comes the RM to MPEG, then MPEG to MPEG2 hell could just do RM to MPEG2 but my system doesn't seem to like that. (The pain!) :(

Yeah, i think i posted a link a few days ago to some details about KHII. This included the voice actors. Steve Burton will replay his role as the voice of Cloud, but thats a good thing. I think he did a pretty good job in KH, so having him back wont disturb me. Just please have no Lance Bass as Sephiroth.

Sephiroth: Cloud why fight when we can dance he says pelvic thrusting in the direction of Clouds' face.
Cloud: uhhh I came here for a fight, perhaps you didn't notice the big ass sword in my hand. What happened to you Sephiroth... have you been hanging out with Justin Timberlake again?
Sepihiroth: Oh c'mon let's Dance... it's "Dancing with the Star's."
Host of Dancing with the Stars: Now Sephiroth your partnered with Dick Cheney for a Tennessee Waltz."
Sephiroth: Oh no he's got a bottle of Whiskey, and a gun ahhhh *Loud Bang.*
Host of Dancing with the Stars: Well it appears Sephiroth has returned to mother. Any Takers?
Cloud: You all disgust me. *He holds an azure materia up to the sky* KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND!!!
And so ends this episode of Dancing with the Stars. Cheers!

Why don't you get Squall in there, he'd dance.
My suspicions have been confirmed Gentlemen! Xenosaga isnt the long however many part story it was gonna be. Namco have decided to end it at 3. The New one looks pretty good too, combining styles of the first two games, to produce a deformed yet realistic look. Have a look:
http://media.ps2.ign.com/media/757/757372/imgs_1.html
After i play all the RPG's i have now, I'll give Xenosaga a shot maybe. By then the graphics will look pretty bad to me though. If its got good gameplay, it shouldnt affect how much i like the game though.

Thank God. 6 parts was just too much. Hopefully the plot isn't completey convoluted because they scrapped half of it. Well it turns out there was no U-DO, it was a all a dream, the end. 3 is okay. I'm surprised it's for PS2. You'd think it'd be for PS3. Makes me wonder if the PS3 we'll even be out this year. Frankly I don't care. The longer they continue to make PS2 games, the more use I'll get out of my Matrix Infinity. Grandia is at 62.4%. I started downloading it Tuesday night. Hopefully it'll finish over the weekend. Cheers!

A Trilogy brings out the best in things (sometimes, or am i just talking crap.) 3 Part's will be fine for my liking, this means i can have a go at all of them in order. So by the time Xenosaga III comes out, i'll start playing Xenosaga, and will have "acquired(your word Tokijin)" Xenosaga II and III, so there will be no wait for me. Namco don't tend to take that long on their games either, so its not that long a wait for fans of the series either.

Hey Tok, do you know alot about burning multiple episodes in the write DVD video option in Nero as the first couple of disc's burned fine but then it just keeps on gettin stuck like halfway through the decoding/encoding process now and it's really starting to do my head in.
Input would be appreciated. :)

Hmm. I've never had the issue with Nero Vision. I haven't used it a ton. I used it to convert Season 2 of Deadwood to DVD, and for a couple other things. I set it to 2 pass encoding and high quality. My processor sucks, so it takes 6 hours or so to finish. Then I use Nero Recode to shrink it to DVD-5. I set it to convert when I'm in class or before I go to bed. I use this guide for Nero Vision: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/272946

My download of Grandia 3 is at 81.3%. I'm getting an average of 26.3kB's/sec. Compared to what I was getting with Azureus, that's not too bad. It should be done tomorrow. I got mine off bitsoup.org. Torrentleech.com pisses me off. They penalize you for being a new member. There's a 48 hour wait to dowload anything if your share rating is under .850. I understand punishing leechers, but you should have a chance to build up a good rating before being subject to the wait. Oh well, to hell with em. Glad you got Nero Vision sorted out Paul. It's an excellent program. I wish it could handle ogg files and subs. Other than that it can handle about anything. Cheers!

Not sure what thread to go to but seems there are very knowledgable people here on encoding. I would like to know whats the best FREE software on converting AVI files to mpeg2 for dvd discs. Is there any way to retain quality of the AVI when enlarging to a fuller screen size after converting. I have a bunch of episodes in AVI format but quality is only good in a small resolution but as expected when enlarged becomes blured and loses clarity. I know why this is but have never used encoding software.
Thanks.

Ive been using Xilisoft Video Converter for a while now and never failed me. Others may have better software though, so ask around...

Well in the past I'v always used VSO DivXtoDVD and thats never given me any troubles however don't use it now due to the fact that you can't create your own menus like Nero vision can. Nero Vision has worked perfectly for me up until the recent troubles I'v been having however think thats just due to the fact that I'v been putting 13 to 15 video files (20-25mins each) on one DVD which might of been causing some of the trouble.
All in all me personally would go for Nero. :)

Changing the resolution to a higher preset from a source file always decreases picture clarity. Its like making a file run at 60fps when encoded, when before it was only 30fps. Will make no difference whatsoever. The source file is what counts. Whatever "stats" the source file has, (to my knowledge) the quality cannot be increased from there.

Yeah Nero Vision is really good. The high quality encoding only takes a few hours, and produces good results. The Film Machine and Avi2DVD are decent freeware programs for conversion. I like the Film Machine, Avi2DVD not so much. You should "acquire" a copy of Cinema Craft Encoder (CCE), it's quality is unmatched. Nero can't handle non permanent subs, or ogg files. Aside from that it's excellent. Grandia III is finished btw, I just haven't burned it yet. I'll let you know how that goes. Cheers!
