Go into card settings, then config and you should see your connections under available connections in the bottom box. Just click on your available internet connection and drag it to the box over the ics and then check the ics. Before closing this box make sure you click OK.

I see now you have installed the nintendo software go back to step 1 and start again. uninstall the nintendo software and do a search on any remaining folders and delete then do a reboot and start again with the drivers provided in the links.

Just follow the setup I PM you and you'll be fine. Also when using with two differant (laptop and ds etc.) it will always default to the slowest, so if you want your laptop to work at the peak then use alone or the speed will be slow sharing with a psp,ds,etc. Enjoy
Anytime....WDCleancut

i am not sure how or why but, i do not even need to set up the ds the way the instructions say to, i do not need to input the ip address manually. I just have the ds look for an access point and it works. This is even better than i could have hoped. Thanks again to everyone who replied to my questions. Sorry for quoting the entire beginning to the instructions. I am new to this kind of thing.
Thank you.

Thats the way it should work but if you follow the directions I sent you then you will have a secure access point.

Thats were the wifi falls short of being perfect, but if your like me the only time I turn my computer off is when I sleep. The other way is to get a router!!!
Glad you got it wooking, WDCleancut

Ok, I followed all the instructions, and everything appears to be fine (I havent tried connecting to with my ds though). I mainly wanted to use the usb thing to connect my laptop to my PC, so i could access the net through it.
Problems though. I can browse through each computers files from the other machine, but I cant access the internet from my laptop (the connection is on the desktop pc).
I think the problem is around the fact that my pc is connected to a router that deals with the internet connection. Maybe I need to set up something where the wireless connection links with the router connection...
I don't know what Im doing!!! Has anyone got any ideas?

First thing, Click on the tray icon marked "AP" this will open the asus card settings, now click on "Config" new box opens now click on "Soft ap" now you will see a box that you share your connection, this is were you drag and drop your available connection from the bottom box into this one and then make sure your ics in enabled and click on "OK" on the left side. Now all should be fine, I'll send you a "PM" with the rest of the tweaks to finish the setup.
Cheers, WDCleancut

Everything is fine until step 6, When I try to switch it to soft AP and untick the enable ICS Checkbox and click "apply" it comes up with the message and I click yes, but it switches back to Station anyway...
Edit: On step four when the wizard starts and I cancel it down in the lower right hand corner it says "Wireless connection unavailable! You can View available wireless networks or Manually assign wireless network"
Edit 2: Ok, I figured out that I needed to replug in the USB adapter and now when I tried to change the it to soft AP it goes "Access Violation at address 0057403F in module 'Wireless.exe'. Read of address 027A3744."

hi, i need help. so basically i installed the new software for the wifi connector, minus the nintendo software. this is what i did:
lug your Nintendo Wifi USB Connector into your computer.
go into your control panel.
go in add hardware.
pick next.
pick yes i have connected the hardware.
pick add new hardware device.
pick install the hardware that i manually select.
pick network adapters.
on the left, pick buffalo INC.
then on the right, pick BUFFALO WLI-U2-KG54-YB Wireless LAN Adapter
pick next.
a message should pop up. pick continue anyway. and it should install
After that, i go to start / all programs / wlan card / control center
and I always get a message, UNABLE TO CONNECT TO THE WIRELESS LAN CARD. THE TRAY ICON WILL BE LOADED ONCE THE CARD IS INSERTED.
I've been trying this for a week and nothing is happening. I even check in the decice manager and it says the wifi is working properly. of course it's plugged in. any ideas? thanks for your help

I thinking you've missed overwriting one of the driver files and may want to go back and start again making sure to overwrite the files. You say the card is enabled so I think the wifi driver is missing...
Is the connector flashing?
WD.

Hi there, i got a problem with the nintendo usb connector. i tried to make it a softap, but for some reason i had to reboot the pc(i was at step 6) then when i pc finished opening it would keep rebooting, like windows ask my password to log in, then i see my desktop, then the pc reboots. it tried a few times but it always did that. later i figured that it was the connected nintendo usb connector that did that, so i unpluged it, open the pc again, then plug it, then it reboot again. so i decided to uninstall the asus drivers and sh*ts, but it still reboots, when i plug the connecter, plz someone help me heh
