ok so like be4 I figured out my last problem...but now Im stuck..for sure.
6)
Right-click on the ASUS software icon in the System Tray (bottom-right corner of screen) and select Wireless Settings. When the settings dialog opens, on the left select Config, then go to the SoftAP tab, and select Soft AP Mode. Then un-tick the Enable ICS checkbox. Then on the left click Apply. You will get a message box asking if you really want to change to SoftAP mode, click Yes. A message will come up saying something like "add the adapter to the network bridge", just ignore it and click OK. If all has gone well, there will be no error messages. Now close the ASUS Wireless Config utility or it will start conflicting when we manually set ICS.
It doesn't let my unclick it

Right click My computer then click on properties, then hardware, then device manager then click on network adaptors here you should see the wireless connector click on this and enable this device then click OK and you should be up and running. If you don't see it then go back and repeat the first few steps. I've sent you a how to set up your connection in your personal mail.
Hope this helps as I'm going to bed. If not I'll send something in the morning.

I can't get past the second step. Whenever I plug in the nintendo wifi adapter, it's only detected as the Nintendo Usb adapter and not the Buffalo wireless lan. I've tried manually installing the drivers to the Nintendo USB device under my Device Manager, but it says that it's the incorrect driver and/or it isn't designed for x64.

Sounds like you have used the nintendo drivers, so before you start go back and remove this program and all files. Reboot and then proceed to install this set up.

Not really sure but I'm thinking that maybe in step 3 you haven't overwriten the other files there or in step 5 when replacing the driver there overwriting the other driver, for the few minutes it takes just go back and follow these 6 steps to a tee and if you end up at the same point I'll try to help you more

I am new and I saw your brill tutorial but I have a few questions. Do I have to uninstall the registration tool? And I am guessing that if it all goes horribly wrong, I can uninstall everything and just set it back to normal right?

I take it you've installed the nintendo disc. Just go back and un install that and do a search for any remaining nintendo folders and delete them as well. Then reboot and start to install the new drivers follow the first 6 steps and then set up your network like this....
Under The Asus WLAN Card Setting
Click on Config on the left side.
Basic Tab:
Network Type:Infrastructure
Network Name:default
Channel : 1
Encryption Tab:
Network Authentication: Open
Data Encrption: Disabled
Soft AP Tab:
Check The Soft AP Mode
Check To Enable The ICS
Access Control Tab:
Access Control Policy: Accept
Access Control List: This is were you input your mac address of your DS found under Nintendo WFC Settings,Options,System Information there you'll find your Mac Address 00-00-00-00-00-00 eg. Just note this is were you would input additional hardware addresses as well ( PSP, Laptop Eg.). Then of coase you click add. Now you'll see that same address under the list of Mac Addresses Allowed To Be On The Network.
Now go back to the basic tab and click on advanced make sure under the 54g Mode its 802.11b only. All the other settings should not to be touched. But if you want to know here's what mine are set to.
RTS Threshold: 2347
Fragmentation Threshold: 2347
Preamble Mode: Long
Frame Bursting: Disabled
54g Mode: 802.11b only
54g Protection: Auto
Use Short Slot Time: Disabled
Important after making any adjustments to click on OK on the bottom left before closing tab.
Ok try your DS by going into nintendo WFC, then nintendo WFC Settings,Nintendo WiFi Connectin Settings. Erase all previous settings. Now pick a connection 1,2 or 3 now search for access point, after a few moments it should come up with a screen showing a default connection thats unlocked and a signal, Click OK. It will show a new Connection 2 Settings screen press OK again and it will set up your DS connection for you. After its done it should say connection successful and then go back to the Connection setup screen. Now just back out and your ready to Play. If you wanted to go into the connection setup screen again ,you'll see that the connection you choose has changed the erase settings to yellow from white meaning its saved. Now Go Have Fun !!!!
Any problems I'll try to help you figure it out.
anytime WD.

YAY! Everything is successful, apart from one thing. I HAVE to have Norton Protection Center on my computer and at the moment, in order for me to connect anything, I have to turn it off. Can anyone help me configure it so it will allow me to connect things to it, i.e. DS, PSP, Wii etc.?

First ? what type of internet service do you have?
As far as your phone issue I'm guessing you have a wireless phone which is running in the same frequency range and you may need to move your phone not sure if this will work as the cordless phones are fairly strong.
The other thing you may won't to try is testing out a different channel in your wireless settings under config you have 1-11 I just found 1 seem to work with my DS,PSP and my lap top. Of course when running more then one thing though the wifi you always default to the lower connection speed...
Let me know how you make out.

What windows are you running, seems to me like the firewall in norton should be shut off and if you have xp let it take care of that.
