Front row is history.
You can get VOD via a subbed box and you have to pay the bill for your orders.

wot u reckon the chances r of getting an image in the near future that will get us front row back ??
also maybe the software will let us change the function of our red button to allow us to put in a pin code as is required of sky movies 9 ?
any thoughts ?

There is no chance to crack vod. The subbed box communicate with the vod server for every order and deliver the address for the bill. Without a valid address no film. Someone has to pay for VOD or no film will be delivered. The onliest chance is to hijack a film ordered from a other person in the same street.
The red button is not needed. Sky movies 9 is mv9.

soulja, you've got to change the 'Load SPTS at boot' to OFF. it's in the 'miscellaneous' menu (or yellow button from main d-box menu). i had the same problem when i started messing about with my box trying to get it to record onto my pc. i now have to do this to mine every time i reset the box, because for some reason i can't save my settings, even for sound and video. i am wanting to put a more recent software on as we are loosing a few of the channels as well as not being able to save, but am slightly worried that it might go wrong and we loose everything. am i just being a pussy??? what's the safest way to go about it? thanks in advance

Hi, I hope this message hasn't already been answered in this thread... I've read as much as I could before my head began to hurt!

I was just wondering...

I have a Virgin broadband service but no TV package. If I hooked up a D Box, would I be able to recieve the channels or do I have to have at least a basic TV subscription.

Thanks in advance;

Gaz

hi gaz...
as long as you recieve ANY data down the line (net OR tv)
you will be able to connect a dbox.
you will recieve channels...and u dont need tv subscription.
just simply get a cable splitter and split your broadband feed into 2.
as long as u live in a good signal area..u will be fine
cheers

I got some balls and flashed my box with commando 7.5. Set my location and did a scan. It found all the channels i had before and a few more that i'd lost (filmfour, e4, etc.). Although all the channels were found and all the epg info is displayed, we can't watch all of them (bravo, skysports, etc.). What's going on?
Thanks again

I have followed the instructions that I found on this site and have no problems accessing the /tmp directory on my dBox however the sportster and the commando_6 images that I have are 8,257 bytes and the xfer always bums out after 7,512 bytes has been xfered.

My guess is that there is not enough memory in the dBox ?? What can I do to free some up? What can I do at all?

The box has DigitalWorldZ-PRO 2.0 loaded but I am having no joy with NTL/Virgin

Any help at all will be gratefully received

The problem is probably because Commando 7.5 doesn't come with any keys, so you will only get FTA channels... You need some keys - if this is the problem
