Marsey: That's it, for the Quad I may need to do so. With my 3.15Ghz E4300 however I'm using an 800rpm Nexus fan, at 19dB. It's practically inaudible.

BTW, I sold a couple of those monitors. Nor I just need to sell a few more and I can afford one for myself. I've got 950 dollars right now. Do you guys think I should build or hold off on it.
get the q6700!!!! thats what i just did, i ordered a q6700 and am gonna replace the e6300 with the old q6600 and then use the q6700 in my main rig! the q6700's are so cheap, its unbelievable! and you get a 10x multiplier!!!!!!!!!!!

btw, no overclocking as quad cores is enough for me to play around with for at least 3 months before i feel i need to push it... surprisingly i still don't feel like pushing my q6600, i did get it to boot at 3.6ghz with stock voltages but didn't test nor did i keep it at that speed...

Sam. just how can ya tell if your putting more air in then what is getting out?
i have my 2 side 120mm fans running right from the PSU. full power. as intake. i then have my twin 140mm fans on top as exhaust. but they are on my mobo and arent running full speed.i know they are 140mm fans and do a bit more. but should i have 1 of them running full speed and maybe connect one of the side fans to the mobo and let it be regullated by the mobo?
hence haveing 1 intake and 1 exhaust being controlled by the mobo and one of each running full speed???
plus i have my front fan the tricool runnning on high. and my rear fan connected to the mobo like normal.???
any ideas/thoughts? anyone?
i have seen my temps come down from where they were but i think they should be even lower....

I've never used a scientific method to do it, just employed a little common sense - have an equal proportion of fans going in as out - if you have an even number of case fans, it's easy. If not, it's a little more difficult, but can be done, you just have to try and guess how much air fans are pushing, and remember to consider the impact of tight grilles and dust filters. What's the speed of all the fans you're using?
