Saying a patch is available is good.. but how do you use it.. We should confer and figure out each game. If you own the game you shouldnt have to go thru all this go make a personal back up copy.

I burned Mercenaries and it locked up on the loading screen. I had to patch the iso and then burn it again. Works perfect now.

Ofnir1 states that no special procedures are required to backup Star Wars Battlefront.
.
.
.
Are you kidding me? The freakin iso is like 800 MB
Anyways, there is a way to do it and I have a good backup, but dont mislead anyone.
As I understand it, this list is for 2 types of games;
1) Burns 1:1 with most standard rip/burn software
2) Requires extra steps, files removed, rebuit iso's etc...
So my list:
-Easy as 1:1-
Devil May Cry 3
Psi Ops
Def Jam Fight for New York
Neo Contra
NBA 2K5
Fight Night (first one)
-Needed Special Steps-
Star Wars Battlefront
God Of War

"Why does everyone have to make everything complicated just make it so it will work."
Yeah, 'to make it so it will work' you have to re-pack the content so the iso fits on a normal DVD.
I doubt there would be post after post of all these people (incl myself who did this) if it was just a 1:1 copy.
Tell me how big is the iso you get from ripping an original copy of SWBF for PS2?
The only exception I would say is that I have swapmagic 3.3 so I cannot rule out the outside chance that if you could dupe the cd it would work on a system with another type of mod.

I had burned over 100 PS2 (DVD-based) games and none of them need any special procedures. Rip the isos onto the harddrive and burn the isos onto DVD discs using DVD Decryptor. However I did experienced some problem with cd based games like Street Fighter EX3 and Marvel Vs Capcom 2.
I had a V10 PS2 with Magic V modchip.
I am a hardcore gamer~~!

I kid you not man. What exactly in the game doesn't work that needs special steps? My copy works fine. And I used no patch for online play, cuz from what I've heard it lags to all hell lol. The ISO is 800 MB? Not quite sure what you mean. I backed up my copy of Battlefront with Alcohol 120% (A120), separated files every 2 Gigs, and after the image was made I burned it at 2X. And as I said earlier, my PS2 is a V7/8, using SMD DVD 2.0.

And as I understand it, the title of this thread says it all... List: Games that Do or Do Not Require Special Procedures to Burn. The games I posted did not need any special steps to burn. I know I said 'fixes' earlier, but I meant to say 'steps'. I will be editing that so no one gets confused.

Ofnir1: Thanks for the feedback, I did mis-state '800MB' I meant 8Gb, but it's not quite that big either. It IS bigger than 4.3GB though, which is why most folks had the problem. I dont play online, so it's no big deal for me there.
There's thread after thread about SWBF, and I dont recall anyone saying, "Why are you all messing with CDVDGen and isobuster and all that, just make a simple copy!" But perhaps Alcohol would make a smaller iso, perhaps not. I know that after the 'special steps' the iso created was much smaller (and my backup loads faster than the original). No need to hi-jack this thread though. I can tell you that the DVDDecrypter iso was too big to just burn though.

i got star wars bf to play with no glitches.i didnt rebuild or patch. though i used a sony vaio with a sony dvd-+rw anda sony dvd+r 4x .if your guessing what im guessing it probably had to do with all the sony products used.so if you got a sony vaio you might want to try sony dvd+r and use the burn program that came with the computer(drag n drop).if you dont have a vaio i dont have any solutions.i can tell you that i burnt a copy using verbatim dvd-r and it came out glitchy on game menu but gameplay was flawless.then burnt copy to sony dvd+r and no glitches at all.
