Nice article. The guy forgot to look at Paint, which rocks. Wordpad is a bit improved.
They also left out Notepad, which is still the same old notepad of yesteryear (take some notes from Notepad++ MS!) Also, disk defragmenter is missing the GUI, just like Vista, so all you get a worthless progress bar with %.

Hers my Ol' girl, LOL. An HP pavilion 7905, 80gb WD (2mb cache), 6200geforce, 1.4ghz amd athlon thunderbird, 500mb ram. LOL, I totally forgot that I offed my 1gb of ram to my sis. Wont be doing to much in W7 with only a half a gig! This was simply an experiment on the GPU more than anything. I never could get it stable on XP. So far, its ok. HDD's a little slow, Though the install was 35min up and running(as opposed to my 500gb sata on another machine 25min). I'll run some more tests tonight, but I gotta get to work SOOOOON. My ram is showing 84% useage in the gadget, WOW WOW WOW WOW. If I wanna continue to run it on this machine, I better double my ram. And I dont think the board will support more than 1gb, sooo, its pretty much a lost cause. Like I said, simply an experiment. I LOVE EM

You should get an N64 Emulator

LOL, Thats how I got the screenshot. Though it is old. Perhaps there are things I can do to get a better shot. Ive ran both, "project 64" and "1964". I believe Project 64 worked the best :)

Ah, Goldeneye... anyone remember Perfect Dark? ;-)
I too have my N64, still hooked up. In fact, those are the only two games I still have for it. Emulation isn't that great, and emulating the controls are worse, unless you hack one for USB and get a working driver (which is possible with the Xbox1 and 360 controllers; makes the games playable at least.)
Anyhow, just waiting for one of these gems to land on the Wii VC service.

Heres yet another shot :D Having fun with my photoshop :D
The reason my Ram useage is so low, is because I met up with Doc brown, borrowed his DeLorean time machine, picked up a Terabyte of ram from the future....LOL :D Nah just playing with the art programs, OF COURSE!

I've started having problems :-( every time I boot it does a little scandisk thing, Gadgets have disapeard and the manager thing won't open at all. Finally office 07 runs really badly and keeps crashing.
I could put something funny here but I cant be arsed. Now GO AWAY!

Found the solution after having a fiddle. All my problems were caused by me turning off User Account control what does that have to do with any of my problems?

ah yeah when you said gadgets didnt work I wondered if it was UAC. If you turn it off it wont work anymore, but I don't think microsoft office stuff would have problems.

With UAC turned off Word sat at the splash screen for 3 minutes with it turned on its almost instant. Weird.
Another weird thing is Performance index
The scores don't seem right looking at EWOcelot proper PC's scores and assuming he hasn't changed his rig from the one in his blog. My OCed Athlon 64 X2 6000 is running at 3.32Ghz (it could go further but I'm happy with it at that speed) yet gets a lower score then his 3GHz Core 2 Duo I know AMD chips are slower but surely not to that extent.
Also why the tiny difference between my IDE drive and his SATA drive?
I could put something funny here but I cant be arsed. Now GO AWAY!

actually I stopped the 3ghz clock and went down to 2ghz. But yeah thats my score. I don't know about AMD chips but yes the general consensus is that they are considerably slower than Intel chips.
and yes SATA's are a lot more capable than IDE's they have faster transfer speeds for the most part.

EWOcelot, is that a functional "Stardock" at the top of your black & white themed screenshot? If so, what software are you running?

I just discovered something friggin AWESOME!!! Ive been waiting/searching for something for a while now. I gave up a while back. Looks like windows 7 answered my plea. Simple, works well, comes with windows. Im sure there was something out there, and I just didnt look hard enough. But I am quite happy with this little adjustment :D You can control audio from different applications all in one environment!!! I dont know if vista had this, but im one happy guy here :D
I may just be first in line!!! No no, not just because of this audio mixer, because the overall windows 7 experience is 9/10. I dont believe an OS has EVER impressed me this much!!!

I opened multiple programs to show them. Run an IE window that has audio, it will show up. I was running a gaming site(splashspot), WMP, etc. It works in real time too. You dont need to close reopen. Im sure if one were to open other audio based apps, they'd appear in the window. Im not sure how it would adapt yet to SEVERAL programs(more than say... 20!)

Heres another shot. and it would appear, if one so wishes, the window can be expanded/stretched to a suitable size. So it will handle ALOT of programs simultaneously!!! It also controls multiple IE windows. E.g. youtube, gaming site, etc etc.
Something kinda interesting. Imgburn popped up in the mixer, when it played the success tune. It must respond to audio driver utilization, or something along those lines.
