Will Wii have a xbox-libe type of service with headsets and all? Will it be free? Will it work using dial-up?? Dial-up probably won't work, huh? But I can (or should be able to) use x-link on my Wii to play Gamecube games online using dial-up, right?
If I insult you...don't get offended...my insults are "friendly insults"...I know this sounds stupid (ridiculous) but I am fet up of writing, "no offense" in my posts...

Thus far, Nintendo's online service for playing games has not been talked about like at all. (Virtual Console and WiiConnect24 don't appear to serve the purpose of playing multiplayer online games, yet)
Anyways, I'm not sure about dial up. Any peripheral for gamecube that connected underneath the cube (gba player, LAN adapter, etc) won't be compatible with the Wii.
The Wii is WiFi ready, and supports a broadband connection via USB, but I'm pretty sure you're SOL with dial up.

I have another two questions:
Question
#1: What does SOL mean?
#2: It does not matter if the adapters for gamecube wont work on Wii, but there is a way to send wireless signals with your router using dial-up, you just gotta no how...so my question is since Phantasy Star Online can be played using dial-up, can I the majority of gamecube games using x-link online (wirelessly) with dial-up?

LoL, that is kinda desprite don't you think? If you have a good router for your internet, you can plug in your phoneline and shoot that over to the Wii.

You could Use Internet Connection Sharing on your computer with a Network Card and the USB connector on the Wii. Using a cross-over cable you wouldnt even need a hub/switch/router.
Even easier, if you have a wireless network card, you could use internet connection sharing on your computer and use the Wi-Fi on the Wii to connect
In both methods you would just set the gateway on the Wii as your computer's LAN IP address.
I've shared dial up before .. it's slow .. but it works

Anything is better than nothing really. Do you think they will force broadband with the Wii though?

Yes you are right, but you have to take into account those being tricked by companies such as Netzero or Netscape.
But yeah, i guess you are right, why put incorperate something nobody has?

Yes true, but if you are going to be playing a good online multiplayer game, would it be worth it playing on a dial-up connection in terms of lagging?

Lag on dialup really depends on the type of game you're playing.
If you're playing an RTS game you wont notice the lag. If you're playing an fps, it will be more challenging, but not impossible :)
I grew up on Dialup because Broadband wasn't available in my home town untill last year. I played everything on Dialup and the only time I noticed lag was during fps games.. even then, if you're good enough you can compensate for it.
I'm not sure how efficient Wii games will be with bandwidth.. it may be possible to play on dialup, but most likely you will be at a disadvantage.

Does anyone know if they are going to release a mass-multiplayer game on launch or anytime for that matter? Something like Phantasy Star Online?

Why on earth is anyone still using dial up?
And moreover, since when are games any good on dialup? I mean honestly, good gaming experiences haven't been had on dialup in five or six years, why would that change now?

Not all areas are worth broadband providers investing in and not everyone can afford broadband ;)

haha I have FiOS! I'm currently at the point where internet connection speed doesn't mean a thing to me, I've maxed out. I'm a heavy user and have gone from dail-up many years ago, to dualISDN, to sDSL to 6mbps Cable... and the 6mbps cable was good enough for me, being able to stream music and download tons of things at once without the music skipping.....
but then fios came along at the same price, outta my face cable! i loved bragging about how my fios was faster than your wireless network (802.11b) but then Verizon DOUBLED everyone's bandwidth at no charge
30mbps! outta my face! i should right that out for you 56k users
30000k versus 56k, I have lost sympathy

While rdxtreme is a bit, well, extreme, 56k is not the only solution. There are providers who still support the original DSL format(Which was two phone lines used in conjunction for much better data rates). Broadband really is coming just about everywhere, especially when you take into consideration, the satellite services now available nearly everywhere. I was seeing 11mbps satellite being advertised at $50 a month three years ago. It's gotten faster and more affordable as of late.
As for being able to afford broadband, why would someone who can afford dialup, and a new game system, not have broadband. I would imagine the prime interest to be getting broadband FIRST, to enjoy your older systems more online, as well as your pc. Broadband hasn't worked well for gaming in so long, there is too much that has to be communicated for online gaming these days; so why would that be any different all of a sudden?
