cincyrob,
Quote: Will. i was just loking at all your stuff also. you can take your mem up to 2.1v thats the standard for it and the E6750 the max on it is 1.5v i think Russ might have his @1.44v??? correct me if im wrong russ.
you chould be able to get 3.4-3.5ghz out of it.
You are correct!

Will should have no problem at 3.5GHz. As you can see, it runs pretty cool at that! The memory is slightly underclocked at 1050MHz on the 2.4 multiplier. With a CPU Math score of over 32,000 MIPS and a Memory Bandwidth of over 8000MB/s it's quite speedy!

Russ

Quote: Haaha, NINE HUNDRED freakin dollars.
And I was thinking I might be able to afford one!
Hey LP, why don't you wait till these new cards are out?
$900 for a video card...F...that...
I was thinking about waiting for them...but that is a ridiculous price for a Video Card...
Who gives a sh!t how good they are...at that kind of price...they will not sell...

They won't set you back 900 dollars in the US - it's just the UK's import tax and VAT at work. It will be 600 to 650 dollars tops based on our prices.

@Sam
I thought they were going to be in the $300 range...I still have No Need for a $600 card...It looks like the 8800GT 1GB will be the card for me...$149 after a $20 rebate...probably the best deal that I will find...
Sorry...I misquoted price...

$129 is going to be unbeatable, but the Radeon HD4850 is offering promising performance (seemingly a bit better than the 9800GTX) for a pretty reasonable price.
On a slightly different note, it looks like those who opted for crossfire boards might reap rewards this gen - preliminary 3dmark vantage shots place a pair of HD4850s, let alone 4870s beating the GTX280 by a considerable margin - cheap, cool, quiet and fast - ATI could potentially have a winner on their hands.

@Sam
What price's are you seeing for the 4850 & 4870 cards...
I heard...
4850 @ $229...
4870 @ $300...
If the 260 & 280 cards are in the $600 range...ATI will win this round of the Card Wars...regardless of how much better the Nvidea Cards are...I will never pay $600 for a Card...besides there are No Games that I play that require such a powerful card...Frankly COD4 is the only New Game I like...Unreal Tournament 3...Sucks Big Time...

I heard the same for their prices. Curiously the 8800GTS G92 is fading out of sale in the UK, with stock and listings disappearing all over the place - I was going to use it for a UK/US price comparison. Suppose I'll use the 8800GT instead.
A decent 512MB 8800GT seems to be about $170 in the US. In the UK they're about £120. Given this, the $230 HD4850 should be about £160. The HD4870 would be about £210.
The pre-order price for the GTX260 in the UK is £270 for tier 2 brands like Gigabyte and Leadtek, £300 for tier 1 brands like XFX.
The pre-order price for the tier 2 GTX280s is £430. The GTX280 Tier 1 is in stock now at £470. Expensive? On day of release, the 8800GTX was also this price.

Usually, Thermalright coolers don't fit in coolermaster cases because they're unusually thin.

If I remember correctly, the Stacker is wider than the other cases and can so support one. However, the Dominator may not be as narrow as the other coolermaster cases, I'll see if you can fit one in.
As for the currency converter, it's kind of meaningless, as the price of PC parts comparatively from the US to the UK differs depending on what components they are. If you don't consider VAT, some components like Freezer 7 Pros and Corsair power supplies actually work out cheaper here, yet other things have nearly a 50% markup.

rob it'll fit NO problems!! I have the TRU Ver. A and it works just fine. :) The CM RC-690 case is a wide case and more importantly the mobo-tray doesn't stick up very much so the width is actually usable. ;) NOW some of the other Cooler Master cases may have issues with the TRU(E) but most of the "upper" end cases should be just fine. :P

Yes, I saw that, and it made me wonder. The Ultra-120s are 161mm high. Leaving the gap between the base of the cooler and the outside of the case, that doesn't leave much space from 200mm. Anything under 7 inches wide would be problematic.

Guys I'm not getting email notifications for some reason. I just checked my account settings and it has the correct email addy but I saved it again anyway. ;)
Checked PM.. replied. ;)
sam the 830 Stacker, that Morty has, has a mobo-tray which "takes" away "space" needed for installing a "large" cooler. It'll fit with few issues as Morty has indicated so NO worries on the "little" case.. hehehe. ;)
I have a 330 Elite and a 340 Micro.... AND a TRU(E) will NOT fit unless you like to run w/o a side panel...... hehehe. :P

bigwill,
Good to see you getting your overclock going good. Your performance is exactly what I get with my 6750 at the same speed. Same exact PR Rating and all! LOL!! My CPU Voltage is at 1.44v and my Dominators run at 1050MHz, slightly underclocked!
Best Regards,
Russ
