Pyrotech - thanks, but the code didn't work for some reason. Am I right to have the new, Virgin SIM in when I try to unlock? Or am I being stupid. I've also tried with no SIM at all but can't get anywhere there.
Any ideas?
cheers, teacup7

Cassandra, you will want to have your service provider manually enter the MMS connection settings. To access this you will want to select Messages from the menu and then select Message Settings. You will then want to select Multimedia Message. After this you will want to scroll to and select Connection Settings and then . Your service provider can now manually enter their Multimedia Message settings.

The only problem with this is that the Edit Active Multimedia Settings says Editing not Possible. If you can help with this I would greatly appriciate it.
My IMEI:010420003348255

How many goes do you get before the phone is shafted? (or can you revive it).
Cheers

You only get one more try. 5 is the limit and then you have to hook it up with a cable or clip to unlock. I think you should use this code and procedure:
place a foreign sim (different from the locking carrier) into the phone. It will say "phone restricted" press undo button
enter code: #pw+188134006643340+1#, press enter
phone will say "phone restriction off"
You will note that this code is slightly different than what was provided to you from someone else. Good Luck!
Please report results.

Help please,
I have tried 4 different unlocking codes (above) but without any luck. If you cant totally render the phone useless then Iam willing to give it another try.
My phone is a 6230i 357065004814275 (orange uk) and I want to use it on o2 uk.
Thanks in advance
