Search this forum, there's loads. to start with, get the DBox bible called the "dbox 2 FAQ by pt.1"

I have had a Nokia Dbox2 for a while now. It has the Sportster 1.7 UK image installed
My settings have stopped saving! and was wondering if there is some sort of option which i have triggered
I dont really want to have to re flash!

Sounds like the memory in the box is full from failed recordings or something,reflash is your only option AFAIK

I have been trying to record to my PC without success
I have also tried flashing via IFA, all settings are correct etc, but when i boot my box up to be flashed, nothinghappens, it just boots up as usual

Hi Mate
would it be possible to have a copy of commando5 , both x1 and x2 images. Secondly does commando5 need keys inputting manually?

Hope someone can help.
My DBox2 has stopped receiving channels. I still receive internet over the same cable so its not the cable. Has Virgin done something to the signal?
It wont let me scan for channels and I have tried 5 different images and 4 different service files/bouquets that used to work and none work at all. I have also tried versions of the magic keys and nowt!!!
Im wondering if my box is faulty now?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi, I tried putting a new image on my dbox and I got the "loading kernal" message and it wouldnt boot up.
Could someone help please, as I`m getting really frustrated now. Ive tried all the tutorials and its just not doing the "flashing" message on the LCD.
I have got IFA to connect to my DBox for sure via crossover cable(dont have a null), because its got the IFA logo on the tele and a IFA Creators logo on the LCD, but on IFA it looks as if its working as it says "DBox Pinging ok" and it looks like its transferring data but then it says

and eventually it all stops and doesnt do anything. The If I restart the Dbox it says either "loading Kernel" or "Kein System".
Ive tried 3 different images and non of them are working.
This is my step by step of what Ive done :
Contol Panel - Network Connections - Properties
I then changed my Network card Speed & Duplex to 10Mbps Half Duplex
then i changed my internet protocol settings to :
192.168.0.101 into the "IP address"
255.255.255.0 into the "Subnet mask"
192.168.0.1 into the "Default gateway"
then ive clicked Ok and came out.
Now with my Dbox unplugged, I open IFA 3.2.0.354
I choose the image I want and select my network card.
and then press start, it comes up with a information telling me that the pc is getting ready and to press ok and tuen my dbox on.
I press ok and power up the dbox but the dbox goes to "kein system" and IFA doesnt start, the stop button is greyed out and the start button is ready to click. So I unplugged the Dbox and pressed start then plugged the dbox in.
This is when i thought I`d cracked it, as IFA started moving and a IFA logo came onto the LCD, but as I said above it just stops and says that log.
really getting desperate now, been at it all last night and all today.

Can sombody help me? I just got a Nokia dbox in debug mode but the box is in german and havnt got a clue were 2 start. Dont even know what software is need to set things up?

Aidanq...first of all welcome to the forum !
second...start on page 1 of THIS thread..and by the time you get to this page you WILL be an expert on dboxes !!
this thread has all the info and downloads you will ever need to keep your dbox runnin forever.
guys like me...and bigdunc ..do not mind helping ...but...
all we ask is to please read all the other posts in this thread, because the answers are there...over and over again.
If you get really stuck After reading this thread ...then fair enuff m8.
i dont mean to sound harsh...but if you read the thread you will know what i am goin on about !!

Hi.
At the moment i have got Sky Digital.
I have bought a Nokia DBOX 2.
Do i need a cable box or a satellite box.
And i have also got NTL Broadband in my room. Will this be useful.
Ive read everything but cant get no help on this.

I have been getting the "KEIN SYSTEM" error for the last couple of days
I was going to IFA it, but when I switch it on, it doesnt get to the Kein System error, it freezes with a load of letters and numbers and 4 lines accross the bottom
Any Ideas please!
