I know, I was just kidding around Lol!

Estuansis, that oblivion chart showed the 4870 raping the game at 2560x1600, but in crossfire with 4870x2 - that's 4 gpus, right? And good results with a 4870x2, but what are the results with your card, one single 4870? You're saying it's good to know that if you add another 4870, if need be, you could rape the game? That makes sense.

Hey, the things GTR said about the case he is going to buy are the same things I would say:

oK...so one favour P182 and the other CM690..who shall i listen too LOL. I should listen to myself. hmm, i think i'll be CM690 it's like my "first" build and i want to have one extreme cooling case and later on a silent one. Because once i got the stuff i'll be gaming a lot! therefore need good cooling - thanks you two

Sam, what happened to the NZXT which I thought was the case you liked the best - or is that in another price bracket?

Wow, abuzar, those are some pretty good arguments for the p182:

Spamual - I mean Shaff - estuansis wasn't forgetting Far Cry in his history of games that used to break graphics cards. He was intentionally omitting it, because Estuansis HATES Far Cry - "the broken AI game." HAHAHAHA.

(Lol, est, you're probably right, but it DOES have its moments. Remember, I'm happy to get everybody my Saved Games, and then we could go right to the good spots without those hours of going through the crap which I already did in realistic mode. Like how about jumping on the kite and flying down in the middle of that awesome firefight between the huge missile launching monkeys and the mercenaries! And if the action's too hot there, you can try to hook over to the little wire thing 100 feet away before the big gorillas get you and take the little lift up the other mountain. There are SO many of those Kodak moments!!!)

Actually, graphics-wise, FarCry is really nice. I did forget it. It sure was a ground-breaking game. Just because I think the AI is broken doesn't mean you shouldn't try it. I like FarCry. I just think parts of it are nearly impossible, so it's about the lowest game on my "like" list. I generally wouldn't recommend it unless you want a hardcore challenge.

Sadly, I don't game anywhere near that level. I enjoy being in the game and enjoying the world without the added difficulty of a skilled human opponent. Thus, I play singleplayer more than multi. I like the more in-depth personal experience you can get with a mostly single player game like CoD2 or Oblivion. Multi can be a blast though...

I agree, playing in multiplayer you get so frustrated, and everyone is so competitive. Sometimes it gets very unfair, and makes the game less enjoyable.

Single player is still the best to enjoy games

Oh yeah! just finished Warhead! It's still a short game like Crysis, but it's quite fun! I think the next one would be about Prophet!

Agreed, the P182 is the best cable-management case of all.
Rich: the results I posted were more specifically to demonstrate the 4870X2 at the bottom, though four GPUs were tested, quad-crossfire is too infant and CPU-dependent to be worthwhile in games like that.

As for P182 vs RC-690, I suggest you learn more about it Abuzar, it has its own chamber for cooling the PSU separate from the rest of the case, and has excellent cable management, no wonder you always recommend the Coolermaster, you have no idea what the P182 does!

so P182>CM/RS690? please people can you tell me why P182 is more expensive than CM690? Is is because it's build for silent and better cable management?

It's better made, there's more in it, it has a nicer design and it's made from expensive materials for silencing purposes.

yeah, just checked the 360 degree demo, it looks nice, but the cooling is not as great as 690's. How many fans does it fit? 5? 6?

Cooling is every bit as good as the RC-690. Did I start that rumour mill?

hmm, after some thought...i think i'll get P182, because i need some quietness once in a while. I'll only be OC the CPU and the cpu will eventually get thermalright heatsink and a 120mm fan. But i can remember who said that P182 is not that quite? when the stock fan turns high or something

That's correct, I said that. The P182's stock fans are very fast on the high setting, so while they will cool well, they are also very noisy. On the low setting however, they are nearly silent and still do a good job.

If you look the PSU does NOT take in air from the bottom of the case. It shares it with the HDDs. I personally wont believe that the p182 cools just as well as the 690 because from pics of both I I think the 690 is much better designed for cooling.

ok stop! This arguement can never stop! People have their own opinion on cases so everyone is right!

so heres the line:

------------------------------------

what do you guys think about ATI naming there next gen card? HD5870?

and i don't get it, smaller chip mean less power but why HD4870X2 uses SO much power?

Hey a quick opinion is needed.

Which is better:

9800GT -1GB Memory BW
9800GTX -512MB Memory BW

they are both $189, but the 9800GTX has much higher clock speeds it appears, which i think is more favorable than the Memory BW?

Thanks in advance.

um, you have a GTX280 why are you concerned about 9800?
anyways, 9800GTX is better, having more memory doesn't improve performance much, unless you're gaming at high resolutions

It's not for me.

Thats what I thought, he will still be able to game at high resolutions with the 9800GTX though...right?

Anyways, I was also looking at the 4850, but all the stats are worse than this 9800GTX. I understand that the 4850 is a single GPU and not two GPU chips cramped into one card, but he is only getting one card and I think the 9800GTX will provide more performance.

the 4850 beats the 9800gtx in most games, ofcourse there are some that it doesnt but about 80% of the time it does.

but it only beats it by 5 odd %, so its depend on the game and price

agree, HD4850 is a much better card than 9800GTX, it is faster, sometimes it's on par with GTX260 and HD4870 is basically on par with GTX280.

alright then.

Yeah I am just looking at the numbers..the 4850 has 800 stream processors, while the 9800GTX has 128, but the 9800's clocks are 100 cycles faster.

the numbers doesn't say anything...HD4850 is better, and people in afterdawn aren't fanboy/fangirls.

you can go online and look for reviews

Nah dude, I know your right hands down. Numbers don't mean anything.

The HIS 4850 is $156!, but they are on back order

so he's getting the Sapphire one for $199, still a better deal then the 9800GTX

Thanks

hmm, ok...9800GTX is still a good card to have if HD4850 is too expensive. Otherwise HD4850 is the best choice between the two
