You probably have to own a Sony digital music player to get the encoder. :(
I'll see if I can find one.

Well, AAC is Advanced Audio Coding and AC3 is Audio Coding 3. I don't think either one of those is it.
From what I can find, the file extension is HMA.

Enough with the double posting spudgeboy, cut it out and get what you want to say in one post. What your doing is against forum rules.
It very well could be labeled 2.0, because they may not have found any fixes. Gamespot is calling it 2.0 it could still be 2.1 or the first, either way it doesn't matter because I have it now.

Anecdotal, by my definition, it's the way too many people here think. It's also all the evidence you have.

What the hell are you talking about?
I have double posted once on accident and apologized for it. Other than that, I am answering other peoples questions.
Get out what I have to say in one post? How about you phrase it as:
"Everybody has to come up with all otheir questions at once, so that I can answer them all in one post."
I can't believe that I am here answering people questions and you think I am "using too many posts." Are you nuts?

Spudgeboy, double posting is more than clicking the button twice, it's seeing two different posts with the same or close time on them. Which would lead anyone who can read this to believe you posted one part and then another to make more posts. Alot of yours one after the other have merely a minute between them, the time it takes for you to type more. Get it in one from now on, you aren't writing a novel in paragraph form.
Don't use foul language directed at me please. Js_boy is likely to be banned soon for posting an e-mail address.
No I do not have, or tend to care about HMA encoders. If I needed one I would find one though.

If I post something and somebody responds to it, then I get an autoresponder from this website, which goes to my gmail account and I have GMail Notifier, which lets me know when I have an e-mail and then I click on the link and then I respond to the response to my post, that is not double posting. It is called computing fast.
That is how I work. So, you will notice that my responses are are posted very quickly after somebody responds to mine. I will continue to use my computer quickly, whether you like it or not. If the moderator doesn't like it, they can send me an e-mail and tell me to stop. Or, they can ban me. But, I highly doubt they will ban me for helping other people (you included) on their site.
If you are refering to "what the hell" or "are you nuts" as being foul language, you have got to toughen up your skin.

I used to think the same, then I got my old account banned, and will never be higher than newbie. I have Member status number post on this name, but it never goes up, because I am technically banned. Whatever, I don't care, I'll still be the foremost knowlege base of semi-conductors on this site. Not DVD ripping and burning though, I am not into software.

So, you actually think that I care about the number of postings that I have, so that I can get a stupid title under my name? I could care less.
You shouldn't assume that you know more than other people. That will get you into trouble. You be the foremost expert on semi-conductors and I will be the expert on everything else.
Where did you get DVD ripping from? Did somebody mention that? solargame was talking about ATRAC3Plus that is an audio format from Sony.

Ok, just for clarification, what I referring to, was two posts one after another with the same name on them. That's what I meant, I don't care if someone else's is inbetween, that's the point of a forum, to go back and forth.
I got DVD ripping/software, not because you were talking about it, but because that is the primary focus of the site.
I assume no one else knows a whole lot about semi-conductors (Except Wvengence back in the console war thread, I learned alot from him and vice versa) because no one evr talks in depth about it, even when I thats the subject.
Everyone I discuss with only has anecdotal comments and "knowlege" to post on that (And alot of others) subject. Hence I make a very good, but as you brought out, not necessarily, assumtion. It is possible there are others that have a better background on hardware.
I hope they fixed this sonicstage, the one I had 6 months ago crashed alot. It is probally a new/patched version by now.

Aaaah, now we are getting somewhere. So, you don't like it when I said something and then clicked reply without finishing my thought and then did a second post rather than edit the first post. I can live with that. Here is why I just created a second post: I didn't know there was an edit feature on this site, until just a few minutes ago. A lot of sites I have posted on haven't had an edit feature causing the posters to post a second time to clarify or fix things. Knowing is half the battle. I will edit to add more comments now.
So, let's move on to bigger and better things. So, I take it from your expertise on semi-conductors that you are an engineer? I am not an engineer, but I am in the industry working at a large technology company.
solargame and I started out the same. That is why he cares. :)

I am all about both. Teaching and Learning. I know it may seem campy, but knowledge truly is power. I like learning and teaching about technology. Believe it or not, I got to where I am because of "stupid video games."
I grew up with people, both adults and peers asking me "Why do you always mess with your computer and play video games?" I would tell them that it is the future (keep in mind, this was '79). I would always get laughs. Where are those people now? In the welfare line. While I learned everything I could about vidoe games/computers and have landed a dream job that deals with cutting edge technology (I know about stuff before the public) and get to play games for a living.
Do what you do best and give that info to others. I always try to pass as much information to others. Why? To build a better future. It always comes back to you. Always.

I am actually a student, CSIS at MN state U(Not a tech college, I wouldn't be caught dead at a tech), and extreme PC and hardware enthusiast. Because neither of my majors actually focus in-depth on hardware design and technologies, I do alot, and I mean alot, of outside study in the summer.
I think in the following year my major can go into hardware, if I choose to take it as a required credit elective.

I would stick with hardware if I was in yor shoes. Most of the best RD is done here in the US. After a design is finalized, it is sent over seas for mass product, but all the fun stuff happens here. The problem with software is that most is done over seas these days. There are a lot of great start-ups here in America with great ideas, but they usually get bought out by (insert large software company here) and the work is shipped overseas.
I would highly recommend research, research, research. Seek and you will find. Which do you like better: Staring at a screen all day at code, or staring at a screen all day at pathways. I find the hardware to be much more fun. Much like a video game. If you think about it as fun, you will live a much happier life.

Now now, That is not nice. Just because India has realized that they can make lots of money by training their people at an early age that software programming will help the economy, is no reason to call names or make fun of them.
The United States has (for the most part) lost its vision on being a leader in the technology industry. We don't promote computing/technology in our schools, rather we fight amongst ourselves over which (of two evil) party is better.
We need to refocus on America as a whole, not Republicans vs. Democrats (aka Liberals vs Conservatives). We need to work together to build a better tomorrow.
America used to lead, sadly, now we follow. Do you remember when "Made in China" and "Made in Taiwan" was a bad thing? I do. Now, everything is made in those two coutries. EVERYTHING.
