I decided to check on copied movie in E drive- well- it recorded- but no sound and can only be viewed on the computer.
Hummmm
How do I run this through FixVtv program now ? Or trash & try again?
I tried to open some animated guide in this sight but would not open- likely cause I am on dial up.

"Houston" we have a problem! For the last two days when I open RiptIt4Me it tells me there are updates available, I download the updates and extract them but it still tells me updates are available. Can someone help, I think it may be me.

I have it in:
C:\Program File\RipIt4Me\RipIt4Me.EXE
It is showing as version 1.4.13.0
The modify date is August 30, 2006
Created today September 25, 2006
I even uninstalled and reinstalled.

YEAH!!!!!!!! it works- I got Passion recorded!!!!! The sound thing was still not playing after going through Shrink- but now I see it works on the finicky Liteon player so I will figure out my computer volumn problem later.
Wow these download programs work!!!! I wonder if I can do it again?
It is hard for me to remember, I need a quick cheat sheet on open this first, then second, blah blah.

Just go into your settings for RipIt4Me and uncheck the box that says check for updates, that will stop the problem for now. Hopefully, after the next update your problem will stop.

I just updated my RipIt4Me and had the update screen come up, all I did was delete my old desktop icon for RipIt4Me and replace it with the current version icon, that will stop the problem. You can then turn on the automatic updates again if you wish :)

Version 1.4.15.0 (28 September 2006)
This is a quick update to yield a nicer, cleaner rip with Final Destination 3, R2.
This version can also be tested on Silent Hill R2 - German version. It should be able to create a psl, but this hasn't been tested. Not sure if the cleanup will work.
.Fixed (or tried to fix) a problem that occurs when copying the original IFOs from the disc (some failed to be copied). In any case, if this happens, RipIt4Me no longer crashes. We found this problem using the debug logs, so keep them coming!
.Improved the robustness of the code to seriously malformed IFOs.
.Added IFO/BUP patching: Bad IFO files are replaced with the corresponding BUPs.
.Useless menu cells that have commands are now also blanked (they were not in previous versions) if you have that option enabled. This yields a cleaner backup.
.Added option in the preference to blank bogus VTSs even if there are valid or referenced ones after them. This is only active in full DVD mode. Unlike the option to remove bogus titlesets, it is not limited to the last titlesets, and it leaves a valid menu domain + IFOs. This also will yield a much cleaner backup.
.The goto command used in the blanking code was sometime erroneous. This has been fixed.
.Put the process info back at the top of the debug log.

28 September: RipIt4Me 1.4.15.0 is out! Fixes for Final Destination 3 (Italy) and Silent Hill (Germany). We would appreciate it if German users could please test this fix. First, change your DVD Decrypter General settings "Filesystem to parse" to ISO9660. Also fixed some other crashes (thanks for the debug logs).

Version 1.5 is now out.
Changelog:
Added display of space saved during removal of bogus VTS(s) and blanking of useless VTS(s).
Improved code that detects the movie type, by allowing a mismatch of 1 cell in multi-story DVDs (Puerto Vallarta Squeeze R1) and fixed a small bug that could cause episodic DVDs to be mis-identified.
The code that loads the IFOs now checks and fixes the various tables's end address values.
In Movie+Menus mode, the DVD analysis is now done *after* blanking rather than before. This is better because the analysis now reflects what happens in the final DVD. This will make a difference in those rare DVDs that have menus in the title domain.
Added option in the INI file to select which function to use to copy the original IFOs.
You can try to switch if you get an error message "ERROR: video_ts.ifo declares X VTS, and I'm finding only Y on the disc". UseMSFuncToCopyIFOs = 1 will use the Microsoft API. Set it 0 to use a custom copy function that reads directly from the ISO file system. It's 0 by default.
Added code to always unlock the tray when aborting DVD Decrypter.
BUP files that are abnormally large are now excluded from the rip.
Improved the IFO patching code.
Fixed a bug that could cause RI4M to crash when loading empty IFOs.
Added more graceful failure when not enough memory can be allocated during the analysis.
Fixed a potentially serious bug that could cause a PGC to be flagged as unvisited, despite the fact that it was! This was causing a wrong problem message in RV
In the jump to menu routine, the SetSTN commands are no longer inserted if the target menu is in the Video Manager domain.
