hi all
could someone please post a dummies guide to flash an image with IFA and x over cable, i've read every post in this thread 2 or 3 times and keep getting mixed up with IFA, FTP etc. i've tried to flash but firstly the IFA wouldn't let me because it said my connection was already in use, which i'm not sure how to remedy as it's not connected to anything else. i set up a separate network connection and got the go ahead form the IFA to start the flash, plugged my box in and no joy.
any ideas greatly appreciated.

Hi guys, first post here after reading through nearly every post on this to try and get a solution to my problem.
I have a sagem dbox2 2x chip.
Ive flashed it with the commando image, v++ and blade final and v2.
Each time i get the same result,
"waiting for time" and "error channel not available" with a black screen. Ive tried ftp ing across services and bouquets to the box with the same result. I've read in this forum about keys, EMU's and stuff but i,m not sure i fully understand them and need someone to explain them. Any other ideas or pointers would be appreciated.

Wot image have you got on now mate
Is the time wrong in the lcd
Dont sound like your gettin any signal
wot area you in
Are you gettin epg
Or just waitin for time .........Paul
Ive got the blade 2.2 on just now but could put on pretty much anything. Whichever is easiest sounds like a good bet lol.
I am getting a signal as I'm on the net with my cable modem and have another nokia dbox which works fine.
Area is Dundee.
I only get the channel name and thats it, still says waiting for time and its been left on all night on s*y sports.

I've read all through the thread but can't see this one.

Also there is much talk of the user guide on this thread now is this the set up guide? What I really need is a guide to tell me how to operate the Nokia dbox2.

on your remote
D box button
Service menu
Bouqet editor
Scroll to the cattogorie you want to delete from press ok
Now scroll to channels red button to delete wot you dont need
Lets know ........Paul
Thanks very much for your help fella

I've succeeded!

DBox
Service menu
Channel Order
Bouquets
My faves
Red button to delete channel
Save changes

Excellent thanks again

What about a user guide (so's I know what all these remote buttons and on screen menus actually do)?
As I said the set up guide just tells me how to set the box up which I know how to do.

cheers.....

I've got a satellite version of a DBOX2 and initially had major problems trying to get the box to talk to my PC so that I could FTP stuff, flash images etc.

Finally got there though with more than a little help from posts on this forum. You just need a little patience, follow the connectivity requirements and instructions, and it will work!

My problem now is that I can only see free2air channels!

When I do a scan on the box I seem to get a lot of Hotbird channels but not many Astra ones. Does anyone have any service or bouquet xml files that I can upload that will give me more?

I also read that I will need keys/cams (??) to be able to see more channels. If this is correct then if anyone can also help with these it would be much appreciated.

Please can anyone help?
I have a dbox 2 that works fine but my mate bought one on my recommendation that just will not find any channels.
I've tried slow scanning with the following display info

Scan for services - all services
Bouquet - leave current
Provider - brute force for UK
Fast scan - off
Background scan - on

During the scan the display reads

Cable - bruteforce for UK
Transponders - 1/303
Frequency - 39450000 etc

Provider - nothing showing here during scan
Channel - nothing showing here either
(I'm sure when I did the scan on my box there was some info showing in the above)

He is running Commando 6 and when the box is started up it does not show any image info although it does display the Commando pic.
Could this be a faulty image or is there something not set up correctly?

On commando 6
Push blue button on remote and set your location
Via net id setting
Scroll to your location push ok
Box will reboot and be ready to scan
just make sure both Sym rates are correct for your SP ..........Paul

Ok, I've discovered the reason why it's not detecting any channels. I carried out another scan and moved the cable/input socket on the back of the box while it was scanning and it carried out a sucessful scan (some of the channels are missing) ie Sky Sports 1 and the Sky movie channels but the rest have loaded.
Thanks for your responses Paul
Location is Cheltenham by the way - thanks again

No epg for Sky Sports 1 and this channel has still not loaded but some of the missing channels have loaded via a background scan this evening however although they have epg they are still saying 'Error channel not available'.
I began with an initial 185 channels but it's up to 302 now so fingers crossed it will detect most or all before the night's out!

If you have channels with epg ,and black screen
You need to restart your cam
Not sure on comm 6
Try blue button
Look for cams
And restart cam
Or change it to a differant one
Make a note of how its set up first.........Paul

Urgent help needed.
I updated the image on my nokia dbox2, I think i did the wrong command in expert mode, because when it rebooted I get the usual script on the LCD but then at the bottom it just says "loading Kernal" and thats it. I have tryed rebooting many times and nothing just the loading kernal bit. I have tryed to connect it to the computer by crossover cable again to reflash the image but it doesnt recognise the dbox any more. I am sure its because it has no IP or main script now due to my error. Is there any way to reverse this or a prog to jump start any ideas will be most welcome. I am lost and need expert advise, and thanks to anyone who can help me.....

supanova i had this prob a week ago and thanks to this forum and it's members it's relatively easy to sort out, i read every post from the start of this thread a few times and the solution is already on here. you need to flash with IFA and x over cable, that way you dont need the remote or the menu, i didnt bother with a null modem cable, i used commando 6 as the image. good luck mate
