Yes you will need to patch every game. Over at maxconsoles they have started a compatibility list of what games have been tried and tested so far. All thanks go to Alex3305.
I wrote a bit of tutorial on what to do when you first get your memor32 here.
http://my.afterdawn.com/smokyrain/blog_entry.cfm/2436
And the info came from this thread at maxconsoles. Basically read Post#4 & 5.
Each PS2 game differs on how much space is needed for each save. Can be like 76KB to like 300KB and up. There is a lot of space on the memor32.

Well to be honest we find out if these backups work by trial and error. Backup your game with Imgburn to an ISO, patch the game with the Memento patch, burn it and see if it works with the memor32.
I have patched a PAL game to work with my NTSC using the adr patcher because when I first tried it on the PS2 I had a rolling screen.
That backup was RTL Winter Sports 2008.
Read through this thread on playing PAL to NTSC to see what is needed.
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/121718
But like I say you may want to just see if the game works first with the memor32 first, then see if you even need to patch it, or wait til someone else tries it and posts it.

What type of TV is yours. Is it NTSC or PAL.
Cause if its a PAL tv you could just purchase this to play your NTSC games. There would be no need to patch with NTSC to PAL converter.
http://www.mod-chip.com/en/pal_booster.php
Other wise yes you would need to backup your NTSC games using Imgburn, to an ISO, then patch with the NTSC to Pal converter and the memento patch if your using the memor32.
Or by using the ADR Patcher found in the link I posted before. Then burn the ISO back to DVD using write mode in Imgburn.

You actually would still have to back them up, patch the ISO with the memento firmware, then burn the ISO back to DVD as far as I know. This is all new, so I can't say for sure. Then it may play fine with the memento firmware, or may not and then thats where you would probably need the NTSC to PAL converter hooked up, or patch them with the NTSC to PAL patch.
I can't give you a definite answer because I don't really know if it will work or not, as no one has posted about it yet. It may or may not work. You may just want to start with the memor32 card and see, or wait for more info in the future.

It has a lot of memory, but I don't save all my games on it. I pull the mc and load my games from other memory cards.
PS2 save files can be anywhere from 76KB or smaller to 300-500KB and up. I have some that are 476KB and 500 and some KB.

i dont think it can play ps2 games yet!
but according to some people the next release will, i main reason i never brough it yet is because im not still fully convince it will work, plus copying my imports (30) is a bit lame dont you think, plus i was planning to download some too.
however i would definate buy it if it sported USB HHD'S AND USB FLASH DRIVES

I understand it can play around 1500 games to date for PS2 but I was asking about PSOne games.
smokyrain, I really like your Blog. So do you think a person should invest in a memor32 card instead of a modchip? I have numberous PS1 backups from when I had my old modded PS1, that why I am wanting to know if the memor32 can also play PS1 backups.

ok so i downloaded usb advancce elf file, what im plainning next is put the file in my usb hard drive or memory stick, and boot it by swap magic 3.8 coder, will that work.
option 2:
out the usb advance elf file in my usb stick/ usb hhd, and boot it with memor 32 (when i get it)
will those options work to load games from usb hard drive or 4gb memory stick?

Yes that will work as I have done that before with my SM 3.8
I just hook up my usb drive to my computer, first format with NTFS, then using USBExtreme Win32 Utility from http://www.sksapps.com/index.php?page=hd.html
open it up and click the format tab and format it again.
Then make a folder on the USB drive called SWAPMAGIC, just like that all in caps. Transfer the usbadvance.elf to it, and rename it to SWAPMAGIC.ELF just like that again.
You can then copy games to hard drive using the USBExtreme tool or using USB INsane which I like to use as you can just copy from ISO image or drive. I have used both programs. Then to remove from your pc when done, click the safely remove hardware icon, and then disconnect when it says safe to do so.
Hook the usb drive back up to PS2, load your Swap Magic and it should then load your usbadvance, and you can select your game.
When you first try this, make sure to pick a backup that is compatible already so you know it works ok.
And then yes when you get your memor32, this will work the same by copying the elf to your memor32 card with the memor32 Savegame Manager, and renaming the elf to BOOT.ELF . Those instructions are included with the memento firmware.

Well thats up to you to check the compatibility site I posted above, to see if they work with usbadvance, and the size of USB drive you have may not hold all those games.
