I have a Matrix Infinity. I ran two races just to be sure. Didn't notice any loading issues. Had to put the game down before I got addicted lol.

The NTSC (USA) version of the black edition can be found at bitsoup.org (free registration). There was a good amount of seeds when I downloaded it a few days ago-- fast download. However, I've yet to try it since I've been busy.
I'll update you guys on my results, when I get around to burning the black edition

Hello again,
Thanx for the replys. I was about to download the Black Edition (thanx i found the USA version) when i got another idea. Just to clarify i made a copy from the original not a downloaded one, and i Have PS2 V.5 SMagic 2.0. The last time, i burnt the rebuilt game to a maxell DVD+R. It ran a lil smoother but still the loading problems. Ok so this time i got the last copy - ripped it again - rebuilt it again and burned it. It was a stupid idea but i started playing the game and it worked fine. I only got to play like an hour or so but all the races played smoothly. Somehow rebuilding on top of an already rebuilt game worked. Sounds pretty stupid but it worked for me. So if you guys dont have another option. Try it out! Im gonna keep playing and if i get to atleast #10 on the blacklist w/o the loading problems post again. I hope it works for you guys.

Well Once a game is rebuilt is stays rebuilt. I.E. If you create an Iso from an already rebuilt game, it would be the same size and contain the same files as the rebuilt Iso. It was probably just the media. So everyone, what do we know about this game? It seems that Swap Magic users have a lot of problems. It doesn't seem to affect modchips. The black version seems to run smoother that the regular version. What else? Everybody list what you know. Let's create anNFSMW database and figure out the solution.

Interesting, its good to learn new things. Then it must be the Compatibility mode of the Nero UDF/ISO thingy. I really dont know but now im very sure it worked. Ive completed 52% of the game w/o any problems. Now that i remember the Ultimate Spiderman game also gave me similar loading problems so im gonna experiment with that one. I could always mind my own business and never post in this thread again since my copy is already working, but i want to help cuse i know theres a lot of people with the same problems so if you dont want to waste anymore media (i wasted 7) you could try it or you could download the black edition (go for it 56k'ers).

Well you should make it your business and post what you know. I mean I have an arse load of games, but I still enjoy helping people, that's what this site is all about. Most people get what they want and move on, it's the one's that stick around that make AD one of the most knowledgeable forums on the net.

Indeed Tokijin-sempai ^^. I have alot of games also. Some of them gave me trouble and i always came to the same forum, and people helped me. Its been a couple of days since my copy worked and im still checking this thread so im making it my business. Anyway, about the info on NFSMS, like you said the Black Ed. runs smoother than the regular ver. Isn't the B.E. suppossed to have extras and stuff? Is there a huge image size difference between the Black and Regular versions?
Cuse it seems the PS2 lens cant keep up with the fast paced game atleast in the regular ed. I made a copy of the original and its 3.47gb.

That's about what mine is. Mine is 3.44GB's. I didn't download it, I made a backup of a rental. I don't know how big the Black Ed. is. It could be an instance of the game not being burned fast enough, or it could just be a compatibility issue with Swap Magic, I just don't have enough info to go to be sure.

wussup everybody ive been reading through all the forums for the past few days watching what everybody has been doin about the whole skipping and glitching not starting problem with nFSMW and have been wonderin why the hell it wouldnt stop skipping so i rebuilt it a few times burnt at slow speeds 1x 2x went through like 9 coasters no hope though rebuildin did fix some of the errors i was using phillips DVD-R 8x <succs then i wondered wait it must be the media b/c i had problems with it wen i burnt GTA SAN ANDREAS so the problem lies not just in the media but also because nfsmw is a "constant disc access game" there are many factors in doesnt just lie in the media it could be your laser as well if you have a old ass ps2 model the laser just wont keep up with the disc speed "if you have problems with gta san andreas youll kno what i mean... anyways i burnt it on MAXELL DVD-R 8x at 4x speed with Nero burnin rom 6 and it came out flawless str8ght burn no rebuilding i got a magic 3.1 modchip installed and even with that the media still gave me problems so if you guys are lookin for sum cheap but good media go for the japanense media "taiyo yuden" MAXELL

Well yeah that's why I suggested to burn this game a little faster. It's not just the burn speed or media though, I believe the game iso that was uploaded via BT just isn't very good quality. The high grade Hitachi Maxell is excellent media comparable to Taiyo Yuden, so I'm not surprised yours works for you. I use Taiyo Yuden myself, but if I were to use any other media, I'd go with the high grade Hitachi Maxell's made in Japan.

The US version of "NEED FOR SPEED MOST WANTED" is only 3.44GB. I just did 2 backups earlier today on a straight ripped via DVD Decrypter, then I burned it using Nero Express on both Maxell 8X DVD+R (High Grade by Hitachi made in Japan) and Taiyo Yuden 8X DVD+R, tested them both on my PS2 console, both loads/plays flawlessly.

Yeah I really think the problem here is the downloadable version of the NFSMW iso. There are no dummy files, and people who have modchips haven't had any problems with it. It's just Swap Magic users who have downloaded the game who seem to have issues. Some people say the black version works fine, other's don't. The simple solution: go to Blockbuster or Gamestop, rent the game, then back it up. It cost's money, but this is a good game, and it's worth $5. Just open DVD Decrypter- MODE-->ISO-->READ, let the image finish, then MODE-->ISO-->WRITE on quality media, and you're done. Simple as that.

But you still need to rebuild the bast'd don't you?
Just got it off the rental's (again!), gonna try to do rebuild it then burn it using express, tried with decrypter before but didn't work...

What version PS2 do you have Permiggs? Have you ever successfully gotten any backups to play that didn't freeze, lag, or skip after awhile?

Well... Yeah, i managed to do Tekken 5 and Pro Evo 5. They work absolutely flawlessly... But those where the only ones...
Well, i just bought a new one, i busted my old one (V5 flip toped), don't know which version it is yet...

NFS MOST WANTED and TEKKEN 5 doesn't need to be rebuilt. Just do a straight rip with DVD Decrypter to your hard drive, then pick up the MDS file and burn it back with DVD Decrypter or pick up the ISO and burn it with Nero Express. That's it... easy as smonkin'

Tried downloading the black version, with the exact filename that ManH reccomended...and the loading problems are even worse
If I want the game badly enough, I guess I'll just rent it and make a copy.
However, I'm a bit skeptical because no one has seemed to get it to work using swap magic, by backing it up themselves.

It's 03:50 am.
I just burned yet another NFSMW (it's 11 attempts gone now) using DVD Decrypter. I closed evey single program i could.
I also got hold of a program called Registry Mechanic, after running it, i had just over 1800 errors. Most of them from programs that i used and deleted years ago...
This time tough, i left the Task Manager open to see the memory usage... I couldn't believe what i was seeing!
The Physical memory went from 280k available to 3k available as soon as started the burning process... Is that normal?
I mean, you would expect to get a fair bit of usage, but this takes the p@ss!
Again, any ideas are welcome...

Yeah I think you could use a break from this whole deal Permiggs. Who knows, maybe you'll leave it be for a few days, comeback and all your backups will work or you'll figure out what the problem is. Swap Magic users have backed this game up successfully. I know Alkohol has, and a couple people earlier in this thread. The ones who have been in the PS2 backup game for awhile have had success, I doubt that's a coincidence. There is no magic solution, you just have to be patient and go through all the steps. Use good media, try rebuilding, make sure your burner is DMA mode, shut down everything running in the background when burning, burn at half the max speed of the DVD-R, etc. It can be done. Stay with it.
