I downloaded bittornado and when I download torrents the light always remains yellow. I tried to allow bittornado through my firewall but I get a message that says "windows firewall cannot add BitTornado to the list of exceptions". Please help.
turn off your firewall, if you're scared of anything, turn it back on after the download.
i had the yellow smiley face problem with azureus and after trying to fix the ports and ip address my boyfriend said, "turn off the firewall, i always turn it off."
as soon as i did that and did the NAT/firewall test, it said ok! congratulations, you fixed it!
it actually said that, i was so happy, and surprised that it congratulated me. so... just try tuning it off instead of trying to add it to an exception list which as you posted, obviously will not happen.
i wouldn't be too worried if i were you. like i said, just turn it off while you're downloading. i really don't think there's much else you can do. you said it won't put it on the exception list.
i did read a thing that said, "Irresponsible pranksters can use automated robots to scan random IP addresses and attack whenever the opportunity presents itself." so i can understand why you might be worried. that's probably just one of the dangers.
if no one else has any ideas i say just turn it off for your downloads, it's the only way i got a green smiley. i mean, it would download with just the yellow smiley, but i'm pretty sure that takes a lot longer.
Don't know why it won't add but Window's firewall isn't all that great anyway, only has 1 way protection. Why not use another, I've heard good thing's about Online Armor or Zone Alarm and they're free and there are plenty more. I'm sure there are lot's of people who could advise you, haven't used ZA in year's or OA or get a router with a hardware firewall.
