tj max is actually where the cpu will start throttling back.

Yeah, thats the highest temps. You don't want a throttled down PC :)

Krj, yeah those CPUs can go a lot on stock voltage. And if you don't increase the voltage the temps wont increase much either.

Don't worry about it too much. You're never going to run it at full load anyway. 60C on the cores is fine. Make sure it's stable(Many people recommend running folding@Home) and you're good to go.

it doesn't really matter what the tj max is. it's the distance to tj max that matters.

Mort81,

intel won't officially release the TJ Max for the 45nm cpu's but word on the street is that it is 95c.

I was just going to ask about that! I discovered by setting the TJ max to 100, my temps equal the ones in the Setup, and the thermal probe confirms them and they now agree almost 100% with Everest's readings for the cores! That makes me believe that the E6750 has a TJ Max of 100C, rather than the 95C I've been lead to believe! The core temps are just too close to the Everest readings, not to be believed!

Happy Computering,
Russ

It would be easier to just start from square one! Can you give me a rundown on your computer's specs? Just all the hardware so I can do a little figuring, please!

Best Regards,
Russ

Bigwill's sig was many small lines, even at full screen, it was always going to break the rules.
RE the 9700, is it running at full fan speed? It needs to be, or close to it to keep up with the tower coolers the other folks use.

For 15% CPU usage it seems a little on the warm side - is your cooler running at full speed, or automatically controlled?

Maybe if AD put the rules where you can find them, there wouldn't be people unwittingly breaking them. I've looked all over and I can't find them! I can find all the Advertisers, but I can't seem to find the rules! LOL!!

At 2560x1600 I see 1 1/2 lines... lol - we have to base this on the smallest screen resolution here. If we take that to be 1024x768, I see 3 1/2 lines, so technically it's four. I'm not sure exactly what the jurisdiction is.
