Entirley up to you, I dont think the suplier will care whether it has channels on it or not.

ahhh i just hope he changes it im assuming he will check if there is ftas on it s his advert said warrenty invalid if other software was on it but then proceeded to provide a link to a site with the fimraware

Im sure they will change it but if they dont let us know your supplier so other members know who not to buy from ;)

will do, ive just had an e mail from him aksing me to keep the hard drive and return box and he will replace it. so ill try again

Hi all... My first post... I'm so excited!
I've been reading this thread with interest & once I thought I'd digested it, I've taken the plunge! Just had delivered the EX5000 PVR. Yipppeee!
All seems ok apart from I cannot get the Symbol Rate List link that was posted on page 1 to work. It keeps saying the document is not here or something like that.
Please can someone point me to another location for this document? If not, I am in the Harrow, Middx area with VM which was previously N*L. Can anyone tell me the symbol rate & which frequencies I should be scanning.
Hopefully I shouldn't run into any more problems after that, but "never say never".
Many thanks in advance especially to HiTeck, Sc0user et all the regular helpers. You guys rock!

The Firmware you have on your box IS the correct and up to date Firmware S/W Ver 1.0 ST4 Jul 15 2008.
All you need to do now is the powerscan as on page 1 :)

HiTeck, no 6887 didn't work for me but I then tried 6952 & that did the trick!
Needless to say I'm well chuffed.
Once again, thank you to all the contributors who help to get novices like me up & running.

hi all i need help ive got a eurovox ex 5000 pvr and i live in runcorn cheshire, ive done a scan on all the freqs and only get 50 channels on freq 6952 and most of them are discovery channels ive only put on the firmware that u put that the beginning of the thead what do i do any ideas do i put more software on or what ?
please help !

Your symbol rate 6.952 is correct for Runcorn, and you have the correct firmware if you followed HiTecks guide on 1st page, so can only advise you to do a Factory Default and another powerscan really, it should pull them in. If not then repeat the process and try 6.887, doubt you should need to but it will do no harm anyway.

Probably way off the mark, but make sure your live cable feed goes into the RF IN socket.

Guys,
Got EV PVR, everything was fine for a couple of weeks until this morning........then nothing. Re-scanned on 6.952 only found 5 TPs.
Still had my old SV4 under the stairs, tried scanning with that and nothing. Very strange........What do you think?
I have s/w ver 1.0ST4 Jul 15 2008. I am on the Wirral, i believe from the list I am ex c&W and on Freq 6.952. Also what start rate and stop rate should I use????
I'll try my original VM box tomorrow, (working)

Oh, Been Some Time Since i've posted Here, Liking the original thread at the bottom of the page when posting lol:P
Anyways, Going to be back home in time for Christmas Holidays In December, So I might be needing your help then HiTeck, if your around that time that is, hopefully you should. Would've asked for help now, but it's pointless if i don't have access to the box,lol.
