HiTeck Just Seem to be having a problem with the .Doc

On your 4th post on the first page, It says:

Symbol Rate List Here.

And there's a link to the .doc on 4shared, but whenever i wait for the seconds to go, it gives me the option to download it: when i click on download i get an error as follows:

"The file link that you requested is not valid."

Guys, Got EV PVR with no problems, all channels and it's running Ok.

Question is... I've been reading about CDF. What is it? What is the benefit of it? Is it area specific? How do I download it? Does it arrange my channels a certain way? (ie I don't want the foreign channels). Although I have all channels some of them are in the wrong categorys. Do I load it via null modem?
I guess I'm just being picky, however if there's a better way....

Please go easy as I'm not that well up on this kinda stuff.

Cheers nando

CDF means Channel Dump or Data File, for e.g, after you do a powerscan you can using the UFL (Unified flash Loader) as on page 1 you can upload your channel data from your box to your PC for back up purposes and/or share it so that other users who have problems receiving certain channels or any channels in YOUR area can then download it for a fix to their scaning issues. If you are not missing channels it is not something you need although you could upload yours to your PC and share it here :)

Hope this explains it for you.

Download THIS and install then go back to page 1 and download it again, save it to your desktop and run it from there.

Thanks again HiTeck I think so,

So after I move/delete my channels I can upload to my PC via the UFL and for future flashing, I can then download them on my EV. And they will all still be in the same place????
Can I alter thwm on the PC??

Cheers nando

Correct, and yes you can alter them on your PC by pressing edit button once you have selected the CDF from your PC, the rest is self explanatory.

Hi there

im looking to buy some eurovox sl 1000 boxes and was wondering if you can do a software transfer from one to another like you can with the starview 3 boxes and are they a better box than the sv3. Ive read a lot of posts on theseand havent seen anything about this so any information would be great.

i have been inundated with boxes from workmates to flash and have done them all free of charge (i am promised free pints) hope i dont bump into them all on the same night
Again i must thank you all again for your efforts

Was gonna buy a null modem cable off fleabay, (RS232) but then noticed that you say on page1 that it wont work for firmwares etc. It says that it will work for this on ebay and it's a lot cheaper than joe m@plins! Why are they selling them on fleabay for this purpose? Should i stay clear then, and pay a tenner from M@plins??
Do they sell splitter boxes too?
Pls help! THANKYOU

No-one can categorically say that all the cables on fleabay are no good, it is by far much cheaper than maplins (incidentally they also make mistakes and hand out the incorrect cable), but you just need to check the feedback and decide for yourself, they do refer to them as RS232 leads and they do look identical, one is a straight through serial and the other is a NULL MODEM. When they are advertised as NULL MODEM then that is all you can assume, and yes you can also buy cable splitters at both.

mackboy1--Nice of you to say!

L71BT is the correct cable from Maps but as mentioned quite deer! If you want a supplier on fleabay that is cheap and sells null modem cables guaranteed try THESE, I have used them quite allot ;) and their cables always work.
