OMG, y dont you people understand? Simply adding a tiny bit of superglue to the tape will cause no harm. I used some thin tape to ensure I will be able to remove it easily. I used scotch tape. My ps2 has been working for weeks. The only reason using superglue would mess things up is if you add a s*** load of it.

www.consolesource.com ships almost everywhere in the world. Swap Magic is only $20 US there.

1. Get SM and a PSTwo. SM comes with 2 discs, one for booting cds and one for booting dvds.
2. Open you pstwo. Get some scotch tape and super glue.
3. Locate the 2 'sensors'. Cut a tiny piece of tape about 3/8"x3/8" (three-eighths by three-eighths).
4. Apply a little bit of superglue on the sticky side of the scotch tape. Just enough to barely cover the entire piece of tape.
5. Put the tape on the 'sensor'. Do the same for the other 'sensor'.
6. Close your pstwo. Put in the Swap Magic dvd. Turn on the pstwo.
7. When it gets to the Insert Disc screen hit the eject button and put in your burned game.
8. Hit the X button (plug in your controller first if you arent smart enough to have alread done so).

Thats it, nothing more to it. It will not cause the lazer to burn out. Unless you go crazy and start breaking stuff off your pstwo.

My PSTwo is a model 70012 US if anyone is curious.

Finally I have modded my PSTWO. I bought a DMS4 Pro. But at the end I choose to do Swap Magic Mod. Here is my conclusion for everyone thinking of mod their PSTWO.

1. Laser Burn out problem. Compare to Modchip and Swap Magic I think. Is more safe to go for Swap Magic.

2. My PSTwo is Australia PAL version. After I modded my PS2. I have tested more than 10 games. NTSC Japanese version. No problem.

3. The Version I used was Swap Magic DVD 2.0 EUR Build. And Swap Magic 3.0 CD EUR Build.

4. NEVER use superglue, just "Tape" is fine. I done mine in less than 10mins.

5. In my opinion Laser burn out is cause by the "modchip", and I don't think there is a "SAFE" modchip for PSTWO. I recommend Swap Magic, compare to modchip is more safer.

Hello guys, i have some really good news for everyone, a japaneese company have created the flip lid for the new pstwo (i couldn't get a picture for it) but i hear that it is only going to released in Japan. I have ordered one from my friend whos is working for them, i'll use it and tell you how it works, if anyone is interested in ordering this product email me on sayedm@msn.com

How would the flip lid work? i.e.

Could we reverse any soft mods we'd already done (sticking down the internal switches) and use the flip lid instead?

And could you let us know the price nearer the time?

Yeah, but what I meant was, can you use the flip lid without doing any soft mods? Is it just a case of taking the old lid off and putting the new one on, and letting it deal with the two switches?

i dont see how getting a new lid could tell the ps2 that the lid is closed, seeing as how the switches are connected to the bottom of the ps2 and not the top.

the softmod way is free, why get a new lid even if it works when u can do the same thing for free ^^

just my thoughts on it. :)

I heard from this guy i know whos good at installing chips that its not good to mod the slim ps2's cause they dont have a fan to cool it down. He said that some people's cds where acctually melting. Is that true?

Thanks yudda111. I cant seem to find any specs on SM 3.3. Since its natively supports V12, does that mean you dont have do the sticky job on the sensors inside? Or is that wishful thinking?

@AussieZan

I bought my Swap Magic v2.0 at a shop in Sydney AUS$39.95, but i suggest you to order the Swap Magic v3.3 (since is latest version).

Does anyone know what is the different between SMv2.0 and SMv3.3 ? I can get most of my games working on SMv2.0. Why bother waste another $40 to get a latest version. -.-

Here is the web site http://www.quantronics.com.au/ . If you lives in Sydney you can buy from their store, took me a while to find it. Here are some hints for u to locate the store, the apartment opposite the cemetery. Look for the window have "Quantronics" at Ground Level.
