hi everyone, im new to this just to let you know. I have just recently recieved a motorola v220 and i have the usb cable for it. I Dont have the disk that allows me to hook it up to my comp but i went here and ppl were giving urls to places and i tried downloading it but like halfway through its asking for a disk and some other stuff. WHen i redirect it to the same folder thinking the thing mite be in there it says they coudlnt detect it, so if anyone can be kind as to give me a real site that actually works for me because i own a microsoft xp with sp2 and nothings really working. Im not a big computer geek so plz break it down for me cause i wanna upload pics and ringtones onto my cell for free. THanks. Also if there is no such program like that can anyone tell me where i can get the disk for cheep?

I have the same problem as ShenShen
I know you can buy the Disk at die mot site.
But there must be a way to download it.
Only al the url's i get they won't work

Way too many pages to read but...
i have MPT v3.40
the first time i used this last night it was working flawlessly. now i connect it, it recognizes it but won't let me upload ANYTHING to it and gives me an error that the fone isn't connected.
any thoughts guys? thanks alot!

I want to thank you for your directions on installing the Motorola mobile phone tools. I spent hours trying to install this software and it would not recognize my motorola e815 phone. Following your directions it took me 5 minutes and it worked great!

Hi! i'm from venezuela. i have the motorola e815 and i´m having troubles making my computer recognize my phone. I tried the mobile phone tool v 3.11 (later i updated to 3.28) and they can´t establish a conection. Please tell me which version of mpt should i use?. I have windows xp sp2, i turned the firewall off and anything happened.
please help me!

Andytuliz, go to page 26 and follow to the letter, the info he gives on how to get the software to recognize your phone.
IT worked great for me. I spent many hours before that without any luck at all.

For people having problems connecting their V551 to mobile phone tools try connecting it and then when the program is running leave your phone connected and turn it off and then back on. I had major problems until I tried this and now it works every time. Sometimes I have to turn it off and on, other times I do not.

Hello, could somebody tell me how to use mobile phone tools with my motorola razr. I tried doing what the letter said but it didnt work. I downloaded MPT 3.40i from torrent spy, i donno if that was right. I looked under my device manager and there was no section for modems, does that mean i don't have one? Besides that i followed the instructions and i couldn't find the file i had to select for the driver on my computer when i was linking my phone. It says something like make sure your phone isn't locked when i'm gonna link it. My phone is locked to Rogers, I don't know if that makes a difference. I'm very confused. Is the driver different from the MPT program and if so, downloading from torrent spy, would that give me the driver or not. I don't know much about computers, so can someone please help me as to what to do. I tried those instructions but they didnt work for me. Did i download the program or something wrong. Please help. What am I doing wrong. THANKSSSSSS!
P.S. if i buy a bluetooth adaptor for my computer, does that mean i can transfer ringtones and stuff to my razr without using MPT?

Thanks Someguy2. the computer reconizes the phone. (E815) next step Ive seen a couple of people with the same question. How do I get photos and movies from my phone to my computerand then ring tones to my phone?

Cadmar, thanks for your very usefull help. I was able to transfer files from my phone (e815) to the pc but when I try to transfer from my pc to my phone I had problems because I only could transfer pictures, not mp3, mobile phone tools gave me the "The comunication link has been broken by phone" message, why is this happening?. I tried with the windows firewall turned off and the problem continued. Help please.

Hey guys. I'm sorry if the following issue has been posted before, but I'm really stuck. I have the USB cable software and have a Motorola Razr V3 phone. Now, when I plug my Razr into the computer, I know the computer knows it's there, because it says something about the phone charging. The problem is my MobileTools. During installation an error popped up and I ignored it twice. I tried installing my phone but after about 2 minutes it kept saying 'initializing'. I've noticed that others have had this problem, but this is not my main point.
My main issue is that I can't find the Live Update button anywhere! I've looked under Menu, to Setup, and it doesn't have a Live Update button. I've gone to help and found 'Update', but it doesn't do anything...
Please help me! :-\

usb is very buggy on the v3 for some reason...there is a guide here some where on how to trouble shoot it bt even then it is not guranteed...why are you so against the blue tooth? it is way easier

Look at the newbie guide at the top of this forum, I believe there are directions to how to troubleshoot your usb drivers.
U need the P2K winxp drivers and if you search you should find them.
Possibly even a link in that stickied guide.
