the filename is "grand turismo 4 jap by tosuya86.nfo"
uploaded by tosuya98@free.fr

i use Powergrab to download from Usenet, anyway he still hasn't uploaded any file, just the first .par2 file.
i seriuosly doubt it's a working iso :)

This forum an thread is not about piracy. I'm afraid you are on your own sourcing your copy. Any reference to where to download these files is breaking the rules of this forum.

I have an original JAP version of the game but i refuse to let any game beat me, i'm backing it up purely for the sport of it :D

Can anyone provide the same information with the CHINESE (or HK) original game? This is in order to find out whether or not the break sector for the chinese and japanese originals are the same... This is important to me because up to now I've only managed to get my hand on a chinese iso.

Thanks!

vr4falife, Javakiko, wildbrhk, toninho, illthreat, or anyone who got a chinese original, you would be of great help, since I guess most of us have a chinese iso, and not a jap one.

Franch guy is full of s..t !
Alcohol 120 % does not support DL burning.
I tried vith WinBTyprV2 to burn an image created with Alc.120% like DVD-R, with Nero, no luck.
Gear PRO Mastering doesn't recognize Ritek DL DVD9+R media in my NEC 3500ag.
So I give up. I wasted dvd9's as much of a price of original game, so I quit :(

My Chinese GT4 image is in PTP wouldnt that mean it would burn in PTP if i just burn it? This is my first time burning any dual layer disc. Either way i still dont see why it only says 1 Layer in DVD Decrypter rather than two

crash, also my chinese iso is ptp, and 1 layer, but I think that means that when creating an iso image, it doesn't care about the writing strategy (ptp or OTP) of the original, only about the data, and the iso in itself does not "remember" being dual layer, it just is bigger than 4,7GB... that means that when writing the iso back, the program just finds 6GB of data, and writes the DL as he prefers (OTP)...

about gear pro mastering, i tried but the write button wasn't even available!(it was light gray, and not clickable) i don't know if that's because my drive is not compatible (Benq DW1620pro) or because I don't know how to use it :) (the second maybe...)
I'd like some tips on how to use the program :)

actually, now that i think about what i wrote before... i don't agree anymore with what i said :)
I'm confused... :)

when I drop mine into Nero it knows that it is still 5.7 gb. But for some reason it doesnt try to go into dual layer mode. In fact I cant see any method of putting it to dual layer. Does Nero support dual layer? Or would I need a different program

what version of Nero do you have?
i have the 6.6.0.0 and i don't have any problem, I mean if i load the iso with it without any blank media inside, it shows that it exceeds the 4.7 limit, showing on the bottom-right corner that it is DVD9; if i put a DVD+r DL in the drive it recognizes the size of both the iso and the media... but i'm not willing burn another just to try :)

I think that the solution here, as xOR already explained, would be to use Gear Pro Mastering edition to burn the iso in PTP mode.

The problem that many of us (including me) encounter is that the "write" button is not enabled. That's because the DVD burner is not compatible with Gear Pro. Check the "readme" file provided with the software, and look for the list of compatible DVD burners, it is ridiculously short!!!

Hi everyone :))

some sad news. I burned and iso with reversed layer 1 iso and correct padding data for layer 1 lbas . It didnt work !!

so the ps2 knows that its ptp and no matter how 2 write it the ps2 only authorise the ptp track ( layer 0 ).

so without a modified bios ( whick will tells the ps2 that any disc / Layer is ptp ) you dont have a chance to burn a working copy on dvd+r dl. ( these mediums are preformatted to otp ! ) Such a bios doesnt exists at the moment!!!!

also anyone who doesnt have the dms4pro where toxicos will support dvd9 dl on ya hdd in future!! versions have to wait until such an bios will be aviable. ( if you dont have the ability to upgrade your bios your out of the race regarding DVD-9 ).
V12 users (pstwo aka. slim ) have to wait until usb hdd loader iss inside toxicos or will be supported.

maybe dvd-r dl will support ptp ( but i dont know yet as it isnt released )

So here are some endings :))

1. No matter what you burn on DVD+R DL will fail
1.Solve- Modified Bios which always authorize as PTP
whatever mediums are inserted.

2. HDD Loader would work with DVD9 ( layer sw
command not understood right now )
2.Solve Waint until future ToxicOS which support layer
switching (those guys are dope!!!!) DMS4 PRO!!

3. I havent a flash upgradeabe modchip.
3.Solve Your Fu***d on DVD9 ! Wait for DVD-5 rip.

4. I have a slim PS2 ( V12 PSTwo )
You have to wait even for mod bios ( PTP
forcing ) or new TOXiCOS and USB HDD Support.

Btw: if you force ptp most of your dvd-videos wouldnt work (ptp is very rare there ) - but who cares hae ??

Some personal infos: Iam not down with dms !!! I dont want you to buy new modchips im just telling ya what i think ( and its all GUESSING!!!!!!!!! ).Personally i modded my ps2s with the dms4pro because i want full upgrade capabilities and a working dev team on bioses ( Team Toxic rockssssss arse). If somebody knows a different way ( ohh man i tried soooo many :)) ) to bring dvd9dl to life on an dvd+r dl media your welcome to tell the ppl :)

Anythink is guessed - dont forget that :))

NiCE WeekEnd - drop some beer :)
