Shrink alone cannot open this disk

Of course it can. no one doing it straight from dvdshrink had problems on dvdshrink won forums.

the problem is caused by your running AnyDVD which you noted you used.

Again, many users are not having trouble doing this with dvdshirink only, the problem is caused by you running unneeded software in background

I have to agree with S2K here. I was able to do it with shrink alone. No problems at all. Plays fine. I also tried it with DVD Decrypter and then shrink and still had NO problems.

exactly. people are gettng AnyDVD caused problems. those of us NOT running AnyDVD have had no problems.

I went Low-Tech to copy it. I used a dvd player and patched it into my dvd recorder and made a perfect copy. In between the two machines I used a video clarifier that I brought from Facit Video online. I did not use any computers.

The second time i just selected back up and it worked

Reporting back. I ripped and burned bewitched tonight. 100% successful. I had downloaded the new AnyDVD and ran it through that first. Then opended DVDdecrypter in File F mode and got some screwy cautions about possible protections. I shut down DVDD and opened DVDFab and ripped it to the hard drive. First time that I used this program so when I opened shrink and reauthored there were a bunch of files I had not seen before.

I just scrolled town to title 1 drug it over and use the frame start and stop and hit backup. No Problem at all. Wife and I watched the burned movie afterward and it was great fun. Good movie.

If Decrypter showed the message about possible structure protection that is normal, just rip it is fine. Just used the new AnyDVD with Shrink not one error just ripped right on by the blank. That slysoft team is the best lets hope they never stop, my two cents.

Still having problems.

I downloaded the newest AnyDVD today (10-29), ripped it with dvdfab express to files on my hard drive, but dvdshrink gave me an error about the file type in the video_ts file and would not work with the files at all.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I bought Bewitched today,to experiment with all the suggestions on this forum.I first tried DVD Shrink alone,It recogizned it in the drive, but wouldn't analyze it.Then I tried using dvd decryptor first,I tried all modes, none of them worked.I finally downloaded AnyDVD trial version and was able to copy perfect in iso mode.It looks like I will be purchasing it before my trial runs out.The only thing that I worry about, is having my name in a database as purchasing AnyDVD.Should I be worried?

Perhaps a mod or a certain "Staff Member" could rename this thread "101 ways to backup the movie "Bewitched"? lol

Just use Shrink25 and be down with it. Okay, you use Clone DVD to burn the files created by Shrinkto5, but it's a done deal then.

does any one know what encryption was used in bewitched and what program(s) can get around it. None of the threads have helped, everyone just keeps throwing software names around and saying they work. I've tried too may software suggestions to list, (all new and updated because shrink and decrypter was the only ones I had before).

I joined this site because of my difficulties this movie. I've never had this kind of trouble in the past few years.

The original disk plays fine, but could there be an error on it that would carry over? I have the newest AnyDVD, dvdexpress, dvdshrink, dvd decrpter, clonedvd2 all downloaded this week. No combination is working. I would like to get this figured out so I can continue to back up dvd's in the future.

i had a thread on this movie also

Guys looks like this movie has the same problems as Lords Of Dog Town dummy sectors at the beginning of the movie so i doubt if DVD Shrink and or DVD Decrypter will be able to do the movie by its self .was able to do the movie with CloneDVD 2 and AnyDVD 5.4.4.1 heres what it looks like

Summary for drive E: (AnyDVD 5.4.4.1)
Drive (Hardware) Region: 1

Media is a Data DVD.
Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 2 (opposite)

Video DVD (or CD) label: DVD_VIDEO
Media is CSS protected!
Video Standard: NTSC
Media is locked to region(s): 1!

RCE protection not found.
Found & removed wrong DVD structure!
Found & removed structural copy protection (Arccos, Puppetlock)!
Found & removed Autorun from Video DVD!
Found & removed 2 bad sector protections!
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

thought i would let you guys know ahead of time !!!! Peace

If Decrypter showed the message about possible structure protection that is normal
That is good to know. When I saw the yellow caution signs in decrypter log I thought that something was up so I took your advice and used DVDFab. My decrypter log had 3 yellow caution symbols. I had never seen those before so I assumed with all the other posts from this thread that there was an issue.

So it is okay to rip with those?

It is normal for Decrypter to look like this it is just that the program finds suspect areas.

Just rip as usual there should be no problem.
