Thanks for helping us noobs. I have 2 questions. First is how you check the iso file if they contain psp_folder and the data_bin folder. I have Nero 7 and it goes to the Nero program right away when I try to open it. If the folders aren't there what should I do and lastly, I have socom fireteam bravo iso. I tried your settings in umd emulator 0.8c and booted dev hook after that and when I try to load the game. It just gives me a blank screen and my psp shuts off. I loaded fifa soccer and it just loads fine. I have 1.5 fw version. Any info is really appreciated. thanks in advance.

@amon... To check if your ISO contains both the PSP_GAME and the UMD_DATA.BIN file you must right click on the file and go down to properties. Once in there set it to open with WinRAR OR WinZIP instead of Nero 7. click on ok. Once you have done this you may notice that the icon of the ISO file changed. DO NOT WORRY! this dosen't mean it will not work! Then just open it and the file should open with WinRAR or WinZIP. Check that the file is complete (that it has both PSP_GAME folder and UMD_DATA.BIN) and close it.
I have never heard of that game still, there must be a way to load it! Make sureyou are starting the emulation with an UMD disk in the PSP and try all three settings: COPY LOAD, DIRECT LOAD and SYSTEM MENU.

@knowell... What game are you trying to load? Make sure that the iso files you are trying to load have both the PSP_GAME folder and the UMD_DATA.BIN file and that you are starting the emulation WITH AN UMD IN YOUR PSP. Instead of SYSTEM MENU in the emulation mode, try COPY LOAD OR DIRECT LOAD. IF YOU DO NOT have these options you do not have UMDEMULATOR V0.8c, you have UMDEMULATOR V0.8. Download the newer versions ant check it out!

thanks for the help....ive actually got NBA Live 2006 to load correctly...the other games i have that will not load correctly are HotShotsGolf and World Championship Poker. Like i stated before i get both games to show the splash screen when using START MENU method..but they will not launch...I have tried DIRECT LOAD and COPY LOAD but no luck with those..i have tried multiple combos of settings to see if it would work still no luck...i have also checked to see if my ISO files have both files PSP_GAME folder and UMD_DATA bin..and they are both in there...and i am sure i am using UMDEMULATOR V0.8c..any other ideas that may help??
i make sure i have a UMD in the psp when loading the emulator as well

@ GR13............ Thanks for the info. I will try to see if the Socom fireteam bravo has the files in it. Actually this is relatively a new game for the psp. Have tried to use direct load, copy load and system menu. Always have a UMD disc in my psp to boot umdemulator and still no luck. Will let you know what happens with different settings on the UMDemulator.

@knowell... Try useing UMDEMULATOR AND DEVHOOK to load World championship poker. To do this follow these instructions:
1) Download DEVHOOK 0.22 from www.psp-haks.com
2)Once you downloaded Devhook, connect the PSP to your PC with the USB cable.
3)Put the DEVHOOK and DEVHOOK% folders from devhook (inside FW15/PSP/GAME folder) into your PSP/GAME folder of your PSP. YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE THE UMDEMULATO and THE UMDEMULATOR% folders in there. these tow programs can coexist in your PSP.
So your folder settings should be like this:
+PSP
| |
| +GAME
| |
| +UMDEMULATOR
| +UMDEMULATOR%
| +DEVHOOK
| +DEVHOOK%
|
+UMDEMULATOR
|
|
+ISO <--put your iso's here
Once you have done that, go back to the menu of your PSP and start UMDEMULATOR whith SYSTEM MENU. The emulation will bring you back to the menu and you will see that in the UMD disk icon the game will appear. DO NOT CLICK THERE! Instead launch devhook and you will see your iso there. Click O on the iso and then click O on start game and Voala! Done...
Hope it works.. Write if you made it work. And if you haven't write as well :P

PS: May be the games are too new to play on 1.5 FW version. That may be another problem which can not be solved (just like GTA LCS that cant be played on 1.5)

hi guys,
ok, this was what happened - I used UMDEmu to load - 'system load' i think then used DEVHOOK and it worked! no UMD whatsoever hehe
but thanks heaps! now i get a better understanding of that copy load..etc thinggy.

Just want to say thanks. Ive been trolling these forums for awhile now, and I cant tell you how much ive learned. I think Ive pretty much got everything working well now, but as far as certian newer games (megamanX, Sims, GTA, etc....) I guess I'll just have to sit on these ISO's until either a new firmware crack, patch, or trick comes out. Ive read about custom firmwares that is basicly 1.5 with the new codexs and stuff, but I dont trust trying to flash my psp with it just yet.
Just want to thank you guys, keep up the good work!

@Reyz... you are welcome! It makes me feel happy that people can learn here and solve their problems alone. After all, this forum is made for that: HELP. I am also waiting for an emulator to play the new games. Hopeluffy some day it will exisit and we will new able to play all the other games. Still, and as you said, we will have to wait.

Ya, I mainly use the 1.5 for emulators and stuff... turbografx cd games are worth the cost of a psp and 2 gig stick IMO. I dont mind buying games, but I dont want to upgrade just to play a game, and then have to downgrade it again. Downgrading it the first time almost made me crap my pants. But, who the hell am I to complain!... im going to go play draculaX now.

Kindly GR13,
Can u please help me?
I play Harry Potter: GoF, but in the middle of the game, when i try to play chapter Hogwart Exterior, it just freeze and my PSP turn-off.
I have used Fastloader, UMDemulator, i've tried ISO emulation mode: system menu and direct load, but it still doesn't work.
Is GoF not compatible with 1.5? Some people said that GoF playable for 1.5, but why i can't?

@eva99, The only thing that may be going wrong is that the ISO is not complete or too shrinked. I have the same problem with Midnightclub 3 (I can never load the performance section in the garadge.) I have tried several ISOs of the same game still no ISO could load that part of the game. So what you should do is download another ISO and check if this one works. The good thing about changeing the iso is that you do not loose your saved data because this one still reamins on your memorystick. So when you load the new HArry poter ISO you will not need to start all over again.

@johnechan... I have read that LORT can be loaded with COPY LOAD on UMDEMULATOR but will get stuck when starting the second level and there is no way to get passed that. Have you found any other way?

hi I would like to know why when i pushed the X button after i select all the settings nothing happens for a few seconds then my psp shuts down by itself????

no no UMD i tried a few so far pinball need for speed 2 but the one i really want to play is world championship of poker
all of them i get the same results nothing move for a few seconds then it shuts down!!

@taporsnap UMDEMULATOR MUST BE STARTED WITH AN UMD DISK INSIDE THE PSP!! To load all of these games try changeing the settings in your UMDEMULATOR ro theese:
CPU/Bus speed : 333/166 mhz
Iso emulation mode : direct load
Disctype Iso : Game
Disctype Umd : Game
Updater Icon : ORIGINAL
Use boot.bin : ON
Regioncode Override : ON
Regioncode game/video/audio : REGIONFREE
Flash0 emulation : ON
Flash1 emulation : OFF
If they still do not work change DIRECT LOAD TO COPY LOAD OR SYSTEM MENU. If you try system menu, the emulation will bring you bakc to the PSP menu and you will see the image of the emulated game in the UMD disk icon. Click X there and start the game. STILL FIRST TRY DIRECT LOAD, THEN COPY LOAD AND THEN FINALLY SYSYTEM MENU.

here's what i get!!
DIRECT LOAD=freezes for a few seconds then psp shuts down
TO COPY LOAD=freezes for a few seconds then psp shuts down
SYSTEM MENU=brings me back to menue but get what's on the original UMD
should i reinstall UMDEMULATOR???

@taporsnap ... OK, the UMD disk you are useing is right. Games should load with that disk. Try useing DEVHOOK and UMDEMULATO. Follow these instructions:
