yes it does work but u cant transfer stuff over the connection. But i dont even know how to do that.

its so long winded man i follow the instructions then it stil doesnt work. i feel defeated....
i have AOL and hear that thats the problem.
WHY it cant be just put the cd in download the bits and heypresto it works...
its a pain that my street now has 100% wireless unsecure signal which cant be used..
i put the ip addresses in and dss thingys but then get knocked back again because the ip address is what my BTvoyager105ADSL is using...
also am i now not safe from computer hackers...
PS is It AOL??
all i want is the truth!

how the hell do you get a gataway ip? i can't use the same gataway ip as my modem as it says it conflicts i try to change the last few digits but DS wifi still won't let me progress and i can't get a connection unless i have the gataway ip, so how do you get one for the DS?

nope, same thing IP is already been used then it disconnects my main Internet connection.

can anyone help me? the problem is everytime i try to share my network it makes the iexplorer and other internet browsers disconnected. and even if i share it my psp says a dns error, plz help me ive been trying to figure this out...

well i got it working for my PSP but my laptop doesnt seem to want to connect. in the manual it says its capable of doing that for wifi laptops as well so i dont know what else i can do??????

I have been having many problems over the past 5 weeks with my wifi. and i have come up with a way which helped me.
1) go into controlpanel>network connections and click on your wireless link.
2)Click on properties, make sure everything is unticked except for the 'internet protocol (TCP/IP)' box in the 'the connections uses the following items' box
3) click on the 'Internet protocol (TCP/IP)' box and click on properties.
4) click on the 'use the following ip address:
and enter....Ip address: 198.168.0.1
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 'your ip address' (go to command pronmpt and type ipconfig /all)
5) Now enter both your DNS servers, this also can be obtained by going to command prompt and typing ipconfig /all
6) Now go to 'network setings' on you PSP and go to the Infastructure mode.
7)delete all previous connections, the make a new one.
8)Call what your connection what ever you want e.g 'home'
9)Then scan
10)then select your wifi dongle.
11) Then click 'none'>'custom'>manual'
12) The enter these numbers.
Ip address: 198.168.0.2
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Deafault router: 198.168.0.1
Primary DNS: 'enter your 1st DNS from command prompt
Secondary DNS: 'enter your 2nd DNS number from command prompt
13) clcik next 'do not use'>'do not start'>next'> the save your settings.
14) then you should be done!!! let me know how you did.

edit: bah still don't work, i'm getting rid of these problems and getting a official nintendo wi-fi dongle instead.

I agree with the very first post in this thread WIFI MAX is garbage i got one off play.com and tryed everything could i get it working but got nowhere.While walking the street with my PSP i could connect to Access points with no problems whatsoever so i thought right send back wifi max and get an access point.I bought this bargain here

It came next day with fed x which surprised me because i opted for free standard postage and what do you know no hassle whatsoever plugged it in to my router switched it on and bingo my Psp picked it up straight away and now am surfin.Just gettin my head round configin xlink kai so i can play my psp online.

Hey there... I've got Windows XP (Home edition, no service packs) and this WiFi MAX. I'm sure that it'll work, but I've got one problem. Whenever I set a gateway in the wireless connection properties, my becomes unable to access the internet. I've shared my connection but it still won't work. I'm sure this is the only thing that's stopping me from playing online ¬_¬

Never mind, I've sorted it out now. All I had to do was download an upgrade for my modem (Motorola SB5100).

If you are having that many problems connecting your psp to the internet using the wifi max as the access point just go under network connections and select the wireless and the ethernet conection and bridge the two togather. Thats it you should be fixed up. The router should automattically assighn the psp an ip address through the dhcp server built in the router.

Also i have a question does anyone know how to bridge the wifi max connection to a dialup connection? I have lost the software that has come with the wifi max kit. Also does anyone know where to get the wifi max software cd at for free download?

Has anyone cracked the 2.81 firware for the psp? I accidently upgrded my firmware and now i am screwed. I am wanting to play hombrew games and other emualtors but i simply cant. Any help?
