Errmm.. It seems like theres either a file damaged or corrupted somewhere in the dash backup in that case. Have you tried using unleash to launch the backup dash?

hi Mik3h i had a simalar prob with my xbox v.1 same shit evox loading screen and back 2 evox.so 2 overcome that prob i installed unleashx as my main dash and when i went to boot msdash it said somthin bout could not find msdash.xbe or some cracp in the c drive so i wnet 2 the c drive and renamed xboxdash.xbe to what it 2 msdash.xbe" in C:\ and it launched no probs..
ps running SID 4.5

Works perfectly shivang, thanks. I assume this does not tamper with my Xbox Live account or anything no? Won't get me banned or anything If I sign into live with my dash called msdash.xbe instread of xboxdash.xbe even when booting up to retail mode?

Georgia USA or Georgia part of the old Soviet Union, or even South Georgia, an island in the South Atlantic ?? If you are a little more specific about where you are then somebody will possibly give you an answer. AD is a worldwide community.

sid 4.5 is an entire diffrent system then 4.0 yes the C is shadow but that is for something else. as long as you turn on your xbox from open tray it should patch everything back to normal to play live.
if green ur good.
azzidrain we need to upload my new sid did you tested it already? layouts are going to be diffrent and ppl plz stick with unleash x .

Unleash is much better. No I havent tried it yet. I've been a bit busy...g/f kinda keeps me busy for the most part. I'll try to test it out 2morrow and tweak my tutorial, upload the installer a few places for extra mirrors and hopefully we'll be golden.

Krayzie's Ndure softmod installer will do you just fine. Even if you select the PAL options, the SID mod will leave you with a NTSC dashboard, and you'll have to uninstall if you do not have a compatible TV.

he he, just sorted out my own problem.
went back, uninstalled the one i had and used krayzie's installer instead of SID (for the PAL users out there this makes the picture of both the game and the dash in colour instead of black and white).
Fixed everything up using splinter cell and by getting Krayzies installer of of xbins using mIRC.
re-installed unleash x and all is well, games in colour yay!
please PAL users, use Krayzie's installer otherwise you'll get an NTSC dash as "snooo" mentioned... by the way thanks heaps for putting me onto this snooo!
and for all the other helpful posts i've read in here, gus etc.

xbins my friend is what you need.
get Sids NKnave 4.5 installer.
you need mIRC > then open up the room "#xbins" without the quotes, and then type /msg xbins !list
this will open up another box with a login for you and site.
You now need an FTP client such as FlashFXP. download it, click on quick connect and type in all the info supplied through mIRC. Then find the "exploit" section and download from there by searching.
then continue steps from there!

That's right but you need java, and a lot of other stuff first. then you need to mess about with xbins to go back and forth with passwords and stuff. I hate the place so I find what I want from places like eastcoastxbox and x-b-o-x.net

I originally downloaded mIRC for other purposes and I never had to download anything else with it?
maybe my computer already had them from other stuff.

will somebody tell me if this is rite?- i have mechassault so i get those linux and evox files and put them onmy action replay and the put them on my harddrive and then run mechassault and load linux on it and do all that stuff and then will i be done and can someody gaive me a website to get all the linux files or evox cause i dont no all wat i need...thanks

in the linux installation files that you've loaded through mechassault (the way that you just described was absolutely correct), it should also install unleash x (don't use evo x it's crap), then just follow the tutorial on the first page of this thread, and you're away... also... remember (when reading the tutorial), to follow every little step, especially the back-up parts, like backing up your eeprom... this is critical.
don't rush because you're excited.
anyhow good luck tell me how it goes... sorry for the sketchy details but i'm at work.
