Hello.
I tried to softmod with Splinter Cell. I copied the necessary files to my XBox hard drive, but when i select the Linux profile and then Check Points, it just freezes. (I got the right Dashboard version).

Thanks, that helped.
Now i Installed the Softmod, but when i boot the new dashboard, everything is b&w, even though i selected PAL boot during the install.

you have a PAL xbox? then i'd suggest getting sid 4.5 and yes you can still use xbox live with it , its just that sid 4.0 is a bit more bugy with PAL boxes . ask xboxhq too

uninstall it remove the linuxs and remod with 4.5 . www.xbox-hq.com make an acc and stick with them ...

what mods?? IF you want to go to xbox live? then power it on via EJEJCT BUTTON and that should load ms dash and the circle led should be green and ready for xbl....

i am not even going to answer that $tUp*D question.... why ? because it CLEARLYsays on the tut what are the requirements....
really its only 5 bucks and having a softmoed xbox saves you alot... back up your originals so they dont get damnge... hmm alot there watch dvds w/out remote thats 20-30 bucks for remote.... and alot more

If you want un install your mod`s go to the linux file go to check points the go down to uninstall soft modds then uninstall everything else! Its pretty easy

Totally different. Unless you have transferred map files, and modded them, resigned them, and transferred them back and all that, Halo 2 is fine. If you are going on LIVE, make sure you use the RETAIL MS dashboard. Eject = Retail.

uhh ok where do i get that? and now xbox live isnt working? so wats up? wen i enter my pass for h2 it just exits me out of the tinhg. it did that earlier but then it just went away. so wats up with it? ok this thing has also srcewed over my entire xbox. how do i get rid of every single thing that has to do with the unleashx and linux thing? and wen u say use ms dash i try to put it says file doesnt exist. al

Go to your alternative dashboard, and make sure the IP is not set to static and save and exit. Power off the xbox, and boot it to the retail microsoft dashboard, it will say "connect create connection" or something similar. If it doesen't, then you can connect to live. If it says this then click on settings and make sure everything is set to automatic.
After this you should be able to access live.

for connecting to live on unleash x change it to DHCP insted of static.

ok well i unistalled everything. so its all back to normal and im gonna try it again tomarrow. well i didnt know wat to do cause it was my first time. and thanks for that. if u have an xbl gamertag can u say it cause im still confused on some things. if you dont wanna say it its ok. and also i thought it messed up my entire xbox cause wen i turned it on it would go to a screen and say your xbox neeeds service, call xbox support. and wat is the retail mode and ms dash borad and all these technicla terms cause im not good with words
