and also when i FTP my modded maps that i have made to my xbox and click overight.....ill still have the regular maps backed up on my computer incase i want the regular maps back???is that correct?!?!?!!??

If you have not backed them up, choosing overwrite will overwrite them. And if you want the originals back, then you'll have to re-install them. What I do, is I rename the map to something like this - (BACKUP)turf.map
and then transfer over my new modded map, called turf.map and I just delete the turf one and take out the (backup) part in the backup and delete the modded one.
That aside.

when i try to put the sid 4 installer on my AR memory card it says "device faild to enumerate" but the mech asssault sid4 works fin whast wrong?!?!?!?!?!

1.- I can't get gamesaves into the memory card with Action Replay?
A.- Make sure you have original Microsoft Memory card or another brand that it's known to work, not all memory cards will allow files that's aren't game related to be added, like zips, rars and non-xbox default files. Also make sure you drag and drop 2 zips, the SID4 Launcher.zip and your game of choice, and you'll add both gamesaves to your xbox, since the launcher are the files that install the softmod, and the other gamesaves are to boot to Launcher, so no launcher and gamesave can lead to ERROR 21, black screen, or MS Dash reboot.
so it needs to be zipped and 2 files are needed .. the luacher and the game of yours

Could someone tell me what the best FTP Client is to get modded maps onto my xbox. ive tried Flash FXP, Smart FTP, and Cute FTP and none of them worked.

Do Not Discuss Halo Modding AT ALL
Seriously folks, how long is it gonna take to get the message through to you all?
Any FTP program works. Set your IP to DHCP by turning off static and get the correct IP address and a crossover cable to connect them. And you can ONLY connect when you are at your custom dashboard.

emergency linux??????? what are you doing???? LMAo you can only use these 2 sid files and NOT another file from the codejunkies....
and once you load the linux SOFTMOD IT yep yep i'v seen some ppl just load linux and put stuff in and close it
JUST SOFTMOD IT it works with live!...

i dont like live and i have it on xbox 360(for a month anyway) the ones from this forum say not valad xbox save when i dragem into ar and they are still Rar'd i havent taken anything out of anything they are how they should be for AR

Umm, I'm going to softmod my box in a few weeks, (dont currently have the money for action replay and splinter cell) and I was wondering how, after i mod, I can rip games to my harddrive

burn aid 3 ( www.xbox-hq.com/html) and install dvd2xbox and run unlesh x ( highly recommended .. evox sucks dont install it) and choose apps and run dvd2xbox and it burns games to hard drive..
BUT you WILL have to upgrade hard drive why? cuz you can only fit 0-4 games on your retail hard drive...
and no halo 2 does NOT fit!!! on the retail hard drive..
no you do NOT need a modchip to upgrade a hard drive on a softmoded xbox.

then ur not doing it wrong...
please have NON platinum edition ... but no orange led means you have not even loaded the linux..
you should have 2 files... laucher and game of choice...
formate the mem card and re download the sid 4 and only these 2 files .... the should be .zip i belive so d/l and drag n drop
please say you dont have platinum as platunim usualy WONT work..
USE ONLY THE 2 SID FILES

ya the prob was it said faild to enumerate when i tried 2 put the sid4 installer (not mech assault) on
so i tried the xbox-linux wiki's files and those just freeze up the xbox
non plat edition
checked everything

ok i got it to work here is what i did
found one on mIRC the xbins looked hard
but didntlike it so i used FTP to replace the files of the one i didnt like with one found in the .rar of one i did like and its tighter than a 12 year old ;p

ok so i followed the tutorial, and well it works. now is it me or softmodding the xbox allows u to save games to the hard drive? because i cant seem to find it on the evolution x screen. if this is illegal to talk about sorry.
ive been looking on google for 2 days, looking for "saving games to xbox hard drive" or "copying games to hard drive" but nothing. anyone help me out?

Yes but only if the game is small enough to fit on your hard drive. Personally I just back mines up to my PC and burn it to DVD to play. But some people like to keep it on their hard drive.
Basically you have to install AID 3 to get all your options, menus, apps, skins etc. So follow Gus's links for that. Then when it is installed, run - DVD2XBOX and it's pretty simple step by step to saving the game to the xbox. After that reboot the xbox, and go to - launch games from HDD where games will run from the HD, provided they are small enough to fit.

i have the original xbox, (softmodded)
(so original HD) with evolution x
im getting a 260 maxtor HD, in mail by ebay. ive read places where it said, i dont need to re-mod it or w.e. but what do i do to (i guess transfer /lack of better words) what i have on my original HD to the big boy?
i take it i have to load the cd (AID 3) to run it?? or what.
ahahh sorry
basically what do i do to upgrade my HD. thanks lol have a good one everyone

well keeping aid 3 is a must have thats 1 , upgrading the hard drive is very good and very needed. on a softmoded xbox you use a program called xboxhdm1.9 so basicly you use it with a pc to make this a hard drive.
those hard drives that are " unlocked" and ready for modded xbox will NOT work for a softmoded xbox... insted you WILL get error code 05
a softmoded xbox need a LOCKED hard drive. as where a chipped xbox does not .
so those hard drives they told you about are for chipped xbox.
their is a UNIQUE CODE for each xbox this is called EEPROM.. with this code you will be able to lock your hard drive .
so items needed

**ftp acess from xbox to pc **
**a blank cdr to make the linux cd **
