ya see i have the same problem i used sid 4.0 i installed correctly but i couldnt get on live,i even tried setting the network settings to dhcp but i still cant get on.i re-set it to static but still i cant get on.then i removed the sofmod but still i cant get on.plz help me!

this might be a dumb yes or no type of question but is AR absolutley necessary to softmod? I have a usb connection that plugs into my xbox controller port and a jump drive so its kinda the same thing but just wanted to get some clarification.

well first off dont fell dumb that little usb manuver u pulled is inginuity at its finest.second as long as u can transfer files correctly for the xbox to recognize then u should be fine. :)

ok im first modded my box with SID3 (my mistake) and i wanted to upgrade to SID4 i followed the tut and when i get to install softmod i cant install wat the tut says to do cuz i guess i dont have newest dash (wat a drag) so it says i have to install single boot im wondering if i will still be able to get on live and if i will b able 2 get to my MS dash...PLZ reply so i can fix this stuff up

ok all u gotta do to get da newest dash is before u install the sofmod on yo box put in a new xbl game and itll give u the opition to upgrade and jus do dat and u should be able to install fine

well i put in halo 2 and it didnt say anything so when i install the SID4 i do wat tut says and when i try to take out disk my xbox tray opens then closes bk and says "error 13" sucks nutz im doing this for my MS dash so i can get bk on live and make new accnts

Im confused are you trying to soft mod ur box with halo or are your trying to use AR to mod ur halo game same? If your trying to mod ur box with halo thats not gonna work.

well ive alrdy modded my box with SID3 and modded my halo maps and everything but with SID3 i cant get to my MS dash so i got SID4 and the gamesave on my mem card and copied it then ran linux to install SID4 i do wat tut says but when i install it says reboot console without disc so i do that but then i get error 13

yea i posted a question about how to get on live with the softmod dealing with the dhcp and the static stuff but no one answered it so i was wondering if u guys might have found out how to help me or not. basicly i cant get on live but i can play XBC and i can FTP but yet i cant get on live so plz help....thx in advance :)

Ive never use XBL but maybe you should try a differnt thread more for XBL this one is for SID4 and how to mod ur box initial with SID for so you may go on XBL.Search on the search engien with in this site.

what your suposed to do is when you go to the internet settings change static ip to DHCP then save it and restart your xbox and when your modded dashboard loads in the bottom right it should have its DHCP ip adress there :)

lol thats what FTP does what you do it run your FTP program and transfer the files to the correct file duh

you guys should have read my post B4.I know how to FTP and i no all about the dhcp and static but the thing is i tried those already but none worked so i went back to static but still didnt work so then i removed the softmod but i still cant get on live.i can however,FTP and use xbc.

If you can still FTP then you didn't uninstall your softmod. If you can't FTP and you are properly configured, going through a router, etc. then it's user error. You have to be doing something wrong...something like you aren't connected to the same network as the Xbox.
The only thing I can think of is if you are using Evox...I believe a lot of people are having troubles with Evox and FTP'ing...if thats the case, try a different dash and try to connect.

first i would like to say sorry i couldnt go to this thread my internet contract was up so i bearly got new internet, im going to answer a long post regardless if this info being old or useless by this ponit , where here goes anyways
hey thanks maxo23 for helping jrizzy same with you knockemv2 for answering the question to skyline36 regarding the time and date issue , as long as the user can set the correct time and date and quickly turn off xbox and turn back on the xbox should load the proper hacked dash from then , this time/date issue will happen if you leave your xbox unpluged 3+ hrs, and sid 4 is better then krazzie mod cuz its scripted to better protect your system from people who dont know what they are doing or messing with a file they shouldnt be.
as for deathfire , nooblit , try messing with the static/dhcp settings and toggle the auto / maneuel set up for the ip it works it just takes time , make sure to save settings.
MSdashPLZ , well if you installed sid 3 and uninstalled it properly and then tried installing sid 4 and all it ask is for a newer ms dash then your good just get it updated , however if you didnt properly back up / restored settings on sid 3 to leave xbox back to original state the sid 4 wont allow you to install it until it has a clean install files (dont sweat it its very easy fixable)

hey guys, to update the dash board you have to use a newer game like Halo2 which came out Nov. 2004, but can i use nfl 2k5 to update it Jul. 2004? thanks again guys

if you have a softmod already active the best thing is just to run aid 3 and hit unisntall softmod and install ms dash BEFORE restarting. xbox should load with latest ms dash then from there you just do a re softmod and there you go latest ms dash , you can also FTP the dash to your current ms dash , and if your xbox is NOT modded
you can try putting the latlest games see if it updates it ,

hi i used aid v3 delux to install the softmod and dash on dualboot but wen i power on the xbox with the dvd tray out (with the eject button) i just get a blank screen but with the power button unleashx works i want this to work i never had xbl and i can across a 12month trial the other day so i wanna give it ago please and some1 give me a hand with this i wud b very thankful thanks alot jsm
