AnyDVD + CloneDVD2 was the best money I spent. I've had no problems at all clonings dvds since then. I remember spending hours with DVD Shrink which worked fine at first, then problems came up, so I discovered DVDfab Decrypter, worked fine, then ran in to a problem eventually, had to try other programs. I mean when I think of all the unscheduled hours I spend trying to get past these new copying protections from Sony / Columbia pictures. Spening a bit of money to get cloning software that's updated like twice a month so you'll always be ahead of the game is so worth it. Considering most people make what $15 - $20+ / hour at a regular job, it's only a couple of hours of your work pay anyways compared to the many more UNSCHEDULED hours you would save trying to find new software. That's my two cents

Sammy's right. I just went ahead and bought AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 and away I go. It cracks me up at the guys that will spend hours cloning a disc, trying to figure out what method works, and what doesn't. This method works for this title, this for another.
I'd rather just make life simple.

The reason you buy AnyDVD is because nothing comes close to it in terms of doing the job. That applies to the whole stable (CloneDVd2, etc.) in my view. They just work and life's too short to mess around. the update service is also as slick as anything I've ever used.

<----- Extremely happy AnyDVD customer
but something I have noticed is there will forever be a battle between baught, and free.... no matter what the product is... (*going astray for a sec.) I use to have a day job where I sold vacations/timeshare.... during this time I also had a night job where I gave away vacations by phone if you simply took a tour of the timeshare.... Can you guess which job was harder to perform? It was actually harder for me to give away vacations than it was for me to sell them. People just didnt believe in "free" often I heared "whats the catch?" I guess thats how I feel about your free dvd tools... What is the catch? and who is responsible? is it opensource? and thats how they manage to keep up w/ all the movies that are constantly being released.. because of power in numbers? I just dont get it. If it is indeed as good as AnyDVD thats great! I promote free software to the highest... (I have three kids, in my opinion everything should be free) I guess paying for it gave a level of confidence I dont think I would have had w/ a freeware program... but its not like I paid alot... (like that copy of office professional I bought a few months back) !#$%^&*()&^$ .... and believe me... I wouldnt have bought it had it not been for my wife needing it for a class.(microsoft bloodsucking bastards!!!) Ok, Ok, I've been up all night again and I'm starting to ramble.... lets shorten this up a bit by saying "I got what I paid for Xinfinity.... because I have an infinite # free updates... your right I paid for it once.... but thats it... now I have it forever... and I've yet to have one bad burn... not one in 383 burns... I dont have to search for bogus programs that only work part of the time... and for that.. I thank you Slysoft

@pazzani & alkohol
I thank the two of you for your "Honest" posts on this subject. I could not agree with them more. I have been accused of being an AnyDVD or Slysoft basher, which I am not.
I will not bash any software that works!!! There might be a time when AnyDVD is what I need to accomplish my goals. Its just not for me right now, I can still do it for (FREE) with "DVD43" or "DVDFab" thats my preference.

Some people like the challenge of using other programs & learning what need to be done to back up a disc. true, this takes time but some people enjoy doing it so who are we to judge them.
AnyDVD is a one step easy process & is good for some people who don't have the time or can't be bothered to sit there & run a disc through several programs. personally i use AnyDVD for the time element.
Is AnyDVD the only program that can remove the latest copy protection? - no, there are other free programs that can produce the same results.
Is AnyDVD worth the money? - YES definatley, for $40.00 it's a very resonably priced program (with lifetime updates) that will do what you need it for if you don't want to invest the time into backing up using other methods

I reccomend AnyDVD but look at it differently. There should be some law enacted, some graduation process where after the time consuming yet free methods are learned, and all the little bits of "why one program works with one movie and not another and what to do about it" information are learned, then use AnyDVD.
I wouldnt trade the program for anything, but the process of learning everything along the way before I purchased it was priceless. There is an art to making perfect backups, and like any artist, you dont expect to paint Picasso or compose Beethoven the first time.

Yes, it's worth paying for when you can do something twice and fast and twice as easy. But then again, some people's time is worth money, and some people's time is not worth anything. The less time I spend backing up my DVD's, I can spend doing something else much more productive and fun.

Absolutely! There are free programs that will get you the same results, but if you're looking to cut down on time spent, AnyDVD is the way to go.
