just a quick question... i downloaded "john woo's stranglehold"... the nfo says it is prepatched with included security files...
once extracted, i got 2 files
ccclx-sthold.iso
ccclx-sthold.dvd
is this .dvd file necessary? or can i just burn the .iso directly
i also got another file with this game "security_patches.rar"... when i extract that i get 3 files...
DMI.bin
PFI.bin
SS.bin
do i have to do anything with these files? thank in advance

No you dont,
Ulike PS2 games you do not have to patch the ISO to play the game online.

The easiest way to find out if the copy of the game is legit is read the comments of the torrent and see what people have to say bout it.

I tried the same procedure again but the same. I used every time only verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4X discs.
Please somebody tell me what I did wrong and maybe could help me what should I do, leaving from the .rar file or from the the .dvd and .iso files.
. My XBOX 360 was modded with xeno 360 and the drive is Hitachi.

Google "xbox 360 hitachi open tray error" and you will find alot of info on this problem,
some may be relevent to you,
some may not

though id give you a bit of a hand.
Seems the reason you may (might not be definate reason) be getting this error is the laser inside of the xbox 360 dvd drive moving too far intot he centre of the disk, so actually onto the bit of the disk that doesnt hold any data. This makes your xbox think that there is not actrually a disk in the drive. That may be the reason your getting an error.

Josh, I still have a question. Why the originals work OK and the people who modded my XBOX tested the drive with some backo=ups what they have there and it worked. I called them today but they said can't help me and to try on forums on internet becouse they are not allowed to give infos how to backup.

Originals will never got the open tray error,
i dont know why not its just the way it is.
Try putting your burn games into your PC DVD Drive and see if its recognized as a DVD-ROM,
and see if you can play that video thats always on XBOX 360 game disks in windows media player or sumthing.

Ty again Josh. I tried the burn game into my PC DVD drive (not in my PC DVD burner). On my title drive appears XGD2DVD_NTSC. I checked in properties and said file system UDF and used space is 5.31M (?).
I didn't know how to check if it is recognized as DVD-ROM.
Than I tried to play the video in windows media player and after a few second intro with XBOX it appeared "to play this disc, put it in a XBOX 360 console"

I usually check using xbox backup creator,
near the top of the window it'll say what type of disk is in the selected drive and how much memory its got left.

Josh, again lots of tx. I've read with the Xbox Backup creator 2.60 and it said:
media type: DVD+R DL
Bytes used: 7.05 Gb

JOSH thanks for the advice, I'll download that and see what region the iso is from.
Fujifilm +r dls are on sale this week, anyone have any luck with these?

Hi, i'm new here.. ive read the thread looking for answers to brun the games.. but i have a problem.. i downloaded a game wich was stealthed it had an .dvd file with the right layerbreak (LayerBreak=1913760
image.iso)
But when i burn the game it cant be played on my xbox 360.. ive read some things about changing bitsetting ? anyone who can help me ? then please replay..

is the process the same for making a copy of a already burnt game? or is that not possible and have to burn only from the retail game? my friend has a burned copy of halo 3 and i want it.

Bump....
Can someone please help me with my situation?
I have already downloaded the ISO and DVD file already for a game
I have dual layer blank DVD media and a DVD burner that burns it
However, when I click on the DVD file in CloneCD it says that it can't locate the ISO file
And when I click on the ISO file it also says it can't locate it
I have both files in the same folder, so I don't understand why it can't find it
Please help

Are you using one fo the nme chips?
If you are then the game does need patching.

The ISO needs nothing doing to it,
You should still have a dvd file, just burn with that
or set the layerbreak manually to burn using the ISO file itself

Is your xbox modded?
What drive are you using?
What media are you using?

If youve downloaded the game im assuming it came in RAR format,
Try unRAR the files again.
Are the ISO and DVD files in a directory?
or have u just put them on your desktop?

I bough my xbox360 with 10 brunt games from a friend and all of the games they work perfectly. i'm using Verbatim DVD+R DL and my drive is a Hitachi-LG drive. hope you can figure out the problem..

What dvd burner are you using?

Try putting the files in a folder in c drive or something.
And unRARing takes all of a minute you may aswell give it a try.
