my problem is this - ive installed devhook v0.46 using ultimate installer v.1.1.1 fresh after a clean format - all seems fine - menu screen all works cool - are there extra things i need to install? - ive read on different forums some iso.s need eboot files but none of the ones i downloaded have this. also im reading about inserting a umd to get the iso working - does this need to be a game? or will a movie umd work too? at moment i only have a movie umd.
as it stands all i seem to get is locks up or error messages when trying to run tombraider/worms/lemmings etc.... help would be appreciated as im on my 3rd day trying to get this mf working hehe :)

spanky1 you need a game UMD(No movies) so the iso ganes work. and try to get the new Ultimate Installer USB Edition v0.3.1
LAMPRO if you what a custom DH.Go in to your MS and in dh/271/flash0 look for the folder that has the gameboots.pmf(and 01.pmf to 12.pmf for background)and fonts folder. put all the new stuff you what there.

thanks juan - is ultimate installer 0.3.1 usb edition gonna make any difference over v1.1.1? - by the way i got a game umd now and still same probs.
im having difficulty getting that file - maybe sonys been swift stopping that being freely available - could u email it to spanky1off@hotmail.com would be much appreciated :)

juan- looks like i did too much.. not only did i go into the folder you mentioned, swapped out the gameboot.pmf- but then i swapped out the topmenu-plugin.rco, the system-menu-plugin.rco and the opening_plugin.rco- and then i went into fonts and swapped out 00-15.pgf- did i goto far? everythng works.
could u tell me what those rco files are exactly? I want to be able to know what the heck im swapping! i know the fonts and the gameboots - but what r those others??

spanky1 ultimate installer 0.3.1 usb edition(has a new USB mod)and the v1.1.1 has bugs(did not work with USB)
I put a link for the v0.3.1 in the last page here.(where did you look for it?)
LAMPRO if everythng works that is ok.
I do not know what the rco files are.look in the menu(I only change the 01.pmf to 12.pmf for background)I have fonts and gameboots but do not use them.
Where did you get the new rco files?
try to turn the psp off(hold the power for 10sec. and see the opening)

the rco's were installed in DH 2.71- not flashed to 1.5.
I got the rco's from some themes i found- i found one in the darth vader theme, and i found some in others. I just took what i needed from wherever to swap out just to see what would happen- all good in dh. so it starts with the darth imperial theme music, then to a gameboot sound from 'shooter' theme i found, along with the shooter gameboot, then the fonts are from the vader theme, and nothing else is different/ except when the gameboot ends, and usually you might see a sony computer text line with waves, its not there, it goes from the gameboot right into the iso. oh and no wavy lines on the xmb either, but i dont remember if they were there or not in 2.71 before i started swapping rco's.
anyone know what those rco's are? what they do??

juan gotta say cheers mate u sorted it all - been playing tombraider scarface worms - thanks for the heads up man :) message to anyone else struggling GET ULTIMATE INSTALLER v0.3.1 and slot it on after a clean mem stick format peace.

im tring to download http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/673 - its the devhook ultimate installer it will install all files to ur psp and create the ISO folder in the root of your memstick. but it keep asking for the root file and i put the port my usb is pluged into and it does not work os i copied it onto my desktop and copied the files. will this work?

lovelysj Yes it will work if you copy the files to your desktop and then copy them in youe MS(PSP,dh,ISO)
When it's asking for the root.Do you put the Drive of your psp?(is it on)

Hi. Iv got a 1.5 ps. Iv tried to play games. I have Installed Dev hook 0.46. I have used it 2.71 firmware. I played an actual game i had in the psp. Worked fine. But as i read the guide it said something about disconnecting it. But leaving the usb wire plugged in. Do you have to leave the wire plugged in while playing. I am going to make a ISO folder in the psp and put the game in there. The game is NFS:Most Wanted. I have to put the files Psp_Game and Umd_Data Right? Anything i need to know on running games as i'm new to all this.!

Edit: Ok iv got Devhook. v put my iso in the right place. Iv loaded devhook. Then i go to load my iso and i press iso it does nothing. Oh yh and when i play a umd disc (The actual game i hav in it) For some reason it changes my psp into German language!?

ConfusedI you have to leave the wire plugged in while playing if the game is in your PC.(if the iso is in your MS you do not need to have the wire plugged)
the iso game has Psp_Game and Umd_Data in it(game.iso is what you need).you do not need to take them out.
Use UMDgen to see the files that are in the iso(and to make a iso if you have the files only)
does it change the psp menu into German language or the game?(if it's the menu go in to the 2.71 psp settings and change it back to eng. or what you what)
If the iso is untouched it has to work.(look for my settings in the last 2 pages)

Ryt im really fed up with it. Iv been told to do some stuff by some one else. Right now what i have been told to do and have done is to Make a folder called is on my memory stick. Then Extract the Iso folder i already have that has Psp_Game And Umd_Data. But thi Iso folder contained them has a win rar file in it whcih i have been told is ok. So the Iso File that contains the data i put in my ms. And still dint work. So it Was Iso folder in the Ms. THn open that Another Iso folder. Open dat and it has the data. So iv tried it and it doesnt work. Now if you can tell me what to do and how it would be REALLY helpful! Thanks

confused - i had loads of problems trying to get it working but in the end it came down to installing ultimate installer v0.3.1 usb version after a clean memory stick format. after that put in your isos exactly where it says on ur mem stick x:/iso - these cant be in win rar format - they must be uncompressed with the iso or cso file extension. hope this helps. by the way im no expert either but this got it working for me.

ConfusedI I do not know what you what to do.(but you do not need to Extract the Iso) it need to be a game.iso or game.cso so it work with DHv46

Wat is Umd Gen. Ok When i connect my psp i get a box which says: Psp Dh Iso Then this is how it goes
Iso-Folder
Psp_Game and Umd_data.
What do i do to get it to work

ConfusedI you did not get what I told you in my last post.(the game has to be a .iso or .cso) not files and folders like you have them. Psp_Game and Umd_data(this is what's inside of a .iso game)
you need UMDgen(a PC app)to make the Psp_Game and Umd_data in to a .iso or .cso(look at my last post so you know how to do it)Get UMDgen at psp-hacks.com
this is how it has to be with games in your MS
PSP/GAME/
dh/
ISO/juan.iso ,tekken.iso ,GTA.cso(the games are only one file).iso or .cso

Ok. After i use Umdgen to make it i get a WinRAR file. I open it and inside it is the Psp gmae andu umd data. Is this right???

ConfusedI it looks like a WinRAR file because WinRAR can open .iso files(but if you compress it to .cso(smaller size) it will only look like a file that WinRAR can not open)

Thankyou very much Juan! It finally worked! Great advice. Thanks. If i compress the file will it affect the game while playing and is there a compressor which someone could give me a link for? Anyway thanks my game is working!

Thanks. Found a compressor very good. Had a file compressed it from 800 mb to 162mb!!! I was wonderin. If i put files into my psp eg. Pictures, Music.... Will i be able to view them and play them when i go into 2.71? Using Devhook? Thanks
