juan2320: I have follow the instruction and install the devhook 0.5101 but when I run some ISO using 3.02, in the middle of the game (random places) it will just show a black screen and hangs there.

What seems to be the problem?

Please advice. Thanks...

Actually, scratch that. I'm running devhook 0.51 for 2.71 via HEND. I go through all my settings to get Portable Ops running from the memory stick, and then when I try to run devhook it gets to the "rebooting system" bit, then it just drops back into the 2.71 game menu. When I stick a UMD in, it just reads the UMD rather than replacing it with the ISO.

What am I doing wrong?

Launching 3.02 from irshell?

I assume it's not as simple as using the irshell configurer to switch the firmware folder from 271 to 302, as I tried it and couldn't get it to launch. It just sat at the irshell menu. Any help would be cool, as I don't like having to go back to the xmb to launch devhook.

I'm running 0.5100100 with the O/X swap on SE-C, it launches the firmware fine from devhook, but not irshell.

One more thing was that I tried to de-kxploit my 2 folder devhook with sei-tool as I heard just having the folder DEVHOOK avoided BSOD, but the single folder that I made wouldn't launch. So I'm back to the k-xploited one.

Any help on either of these much appreciated.

@newplay1, check the first page at http://www.psp-hacks.com for the installer

Since I've not yet upgraded to Dev .51 and i am wondering what mods can be used in conjunction w/ this?? (i.e. screen cap and what not?) any menu editing options available or font switching??

seems like some kind of newb style questions, but i just figure, some of the more knowledgeable people will be able to provide me w/ some answers to these seemingly simple questions.

Question. Maybe I missed it but how do you correct the x and o button switch on devhook 0.51. I downloaded the crap it said to download to fix the problem on a devhook 0.51 tutorial on http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-firmware-disc...-wip-81061.html but the problem still hasn't fixed itself.

Thats strange, MGS:PO works fine for me. It could be a bad ISO, try downloading a different one.

I have se-c 2.71. I just got done loading devhook v .51 onto my psp. I used boosters launcher beta.

How do I start the new metal gear game? I think I'm doing something wrong. My psp is saying this:

umd image: emulation
cpu clock: 222/111
umd sfo ver: default
menu on boot: on
preload address: 89200000
firware: not supported
remote port: not supported

In the background, it says "The disc could not be read."

What do I do exactly to get the game to load?

Thanks.

Do you have a UMD inserted?
Also it could be a bad ISO, have you tried downloading a different ISO?

Yes a umd is inserted. The thing that puzzles me is the line that says
"firmware is not supported."

When I go into system settings, it does say I have 3.02

When I'm in devhook, do I have to do anything special? I know I have to select the iso I want to load under umd select.

Under the firmware section, do I have to select anything? It looks like 3.02 is the default once I exit devhook.

Do I need to change the cpu clock or anything? Does it sound like I'm doing things correctly? Maybe I do have a bad iso. I can try a different one.

The one I have is the MGSPO USA UMDrip.....from estrenos...

No that "firmware: not supported" line is right, everyone gets that. That means that changing the firmware is not supported by the DevHook VSH menu yet.

@TheSKull- Did you go to FLASH INSTALL-->"Install configfiles to flash1:" after you copied the fixed registry files to ms0:/dh/302/f1/registry?

Yes, I believe I did.

There are 2 files: system.dreg and system.ireg in there: ms0:/dh/302/f1/registry

Does it sound like I did it right?

OK guys, im having problems emulating 2.71sec in devhook, im actually running 2.71sec but wanting to emulate it using the 271 flash option as my images are in .dax format. I used the 2.71secbasic installer, now if i use the normal 2.71 firmware option that works, but using the 2.71 flash option the xmb locks up when detecting the UMD in the drive. If i remove the UMD and start devhook it takes me to the emulated XMB and sys version shows as 2.7se-dh as expected, but when i insert a umd disc the whole thing locks up.

Have tried reinstalling devhook from the sec installer but I get the same problem. Have tried loading another dax image, and also another UMD in the drive but get same issue :(

No it wouldn't. First go to FLASH INSTALL and then select "uninstall configfiles" (3rd option) and then select "install configfiles to flash1:".

@liv3wire- I dont think you can emulate 2.71 SE-C. Instead you will either have to convert your DAX files to CSO files (using ISO Compressor) or you will have to use DevHook 0.46 with the DAX plugin.

Ok I did the uninstall and then the flash install again. Still no luck. I wonder if it's just a bad iso....

What is the screen supposed to look like after the flash install is done? I press the circle button for a second to start the install and then a bunch of white writing goes down the page and then starts over on the top of the page. It says something to the effect of press any button to go back. I guess the flash install is done?

Yeah thats right, the flash install is done (if it wasn't done then DevHook wouldnt load 3.02).

I think its a bad ISO.

@smurff- You can use the screen capture mod. But you will have to download the new version for DevHook 0.51 from here:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/942

You can edit the menu by editing some text files found in ms0:/dh/05beta/menu. However this doesn't allow major changes (like graphical changes- for that you will have to edit the source code).

I recommend upgrading to DevHook 0.51 as it emulates 3.02, to install it follow my guide:
http://eternal-psp.a22.biz/index.php?opt...id=25&Itemid=31
(if you need one that is :) )
