Holy #%@&!! Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but after a little tinkering tonight, I was able to run isos stored on my PC through the USB. This is super cool for me as I only have a 1 gig memory stick.
I was able to accomplish this without making ANY changes on my PSP to the files that were put there when I copied over the easy installer. I just loaded up 'usbhostfs_pc' following the directions that came with it and BAM i'm up and running!
I am sure this will make all the folks with small memory sticks very happy as they will now be able to play isos that would not fit. I know it does suck to be tied to my PC with a cable seeing as how this is a Playstation PORTABLE.. but it does give you a chance to experience playing games that you wouldn't have access to any other way.

sorry guys i like to ask that if use chamlum version of easy installer.. is it that i just need to copy and paste the whole thing into memory stick and follow the setting on the section (E) ?? is there any different setting from the old version, and what is the main different btw this two.. Someone please help me .. thanks

hey guys here is the devhook launcher chunlam 1.65a
inside already have these things:
HENC,fw1.50 and fw2.71
i have change the background for fw1.50 but if u want me to change
it to a different one then tell me

just extract all the files inside to your memorystick root
everything u want is inside except homebrews of anykind
this is only a temporary download i do not know how long it will
last in the site,so get it while u still can.
mpac_sam,is your psp even a original 2.71,lot of people cannot play this so,either your psp is originally 1.5 that is emulated to 2.71

Someone please please help i'm tearing my hair out . I updated my psp to 2.71 and followed all the instructions .I'm downloaded mlbshow as an iso file. I followed all steps and launched devhook for 2.71 but when i go to start at the menu after changing the settings i do not get a blue screen but get a black screen nd then the psp switches off automatically please help.

kealvalro, your new up-date "devhook launcher chunlam 1.65a" should i download, what's it for??? Still waiting for your advice on my router...heeeeeee, know u r busy ;-) don't worry i will just try to look around in other forums.
O ya...i m chinese and Singaporean but staying in the Philippines now. Sorry busy playing my news ISO games......haaaaaaa

ok i managed to start the game when inserting the umd but as the game is about to start the screen goes black and the psp switches off. Playing mlb the show by the way.

great guide man... btw got a friends here and i do all the steps but when i load devhook with or without umd and a iso chosen it just shuts off.. what can i do.. btw can i get rid of all the other crap under the game ms?? the ned..ip..whatever? thx

Ok huys i'm attempting to play mlb show 06.
i followed all instructions updated from firmware 2.5 to 2.71
Got the the blue screen from hen c ,went to devhook0.4x launcher for 2.71
used the settings as described loaded a umd and then i got the start up demo of the game at the umd screen but when i attempt to load the game the screen turns black and the psp switches off....what am i doing wrong.
i tried another iso but to no avail....please help.

I've read for probably 3-4 hours about PSP-related issues and these are the basic questions I have left over...
--I'm going to buy a PSP tomorrow. Are they selling PSP's with 2.8 fw? If so is there a way to definitely avoid them?
--As I understand it, you can run devhook on a 2.71 to play isos as well as homebrews (ie nintendo emulators), is that correct? And if so, does that mean that any version of a psp at 2.71 or under is fine?
--If I get a psp that's under 2.71, is it fine to just upgrade to 2.71 and use devhook from there, then? (kind of related to above question). Even if devhook is more inconvenient than a permanent downgrade to 1.5, I'd rather use it as there is no downgrade necessary and no chance of bricking...

1. Mostly likely, since sony wants to get rid of homebrew and stuff.
2. Not sure what you mean but ya, you can play homebrew if you emulate to 1.5 on a 2.71
3. Er..thats your decision, if you want to downgrade then do it, if you dont, well then upgrade. But its still YOUR decision. Just make sure you dont get a ta-082 if you want to downgrade or your screwed.

Ya but the only thing you CANT do is downgrade to 1.5 and flash files or else its a brick.

Last (dumb) question...do I need to hook up through a USB cord if I do the easy installer method? From the instructions it looks as if I simply use the memory stick to transfer everything to the PSP with that method...

Ya, that really was a dumb question. Ya, you need a mini-usb cable or use a media card reader (but its better with mini-usb).

guys i have updated the tutorial and the easy installer is different now.
i am using torrent now instead and i hope you guys will seed when i go offline.thanks,oh get the file in the end of the first post.
i am using chunglams one and henc,1.50 and 2.71 is in already.
u just have to extract all the files to your memorystick root
imransadd maybe the iso is the problem or can u boot to 2.71 even.
if u cannot boot to 2.71 that means u have place the files in the wrong paths,if u are confused on doing this download the easy installer using torrent.
or better tell me how did u install it

kealvaro man i got the same problem as imran.... lol wat thehell.. it shuts off... the iso is perfect cause i got it working on my other psp...plus should i backup,format,reinstall,btw this chunglams thing, with that al u have to do is open the exe and places all the files in its place or not? thx
