@MINmix:
No you can't play DAX formatted games. You'll need to convert them to iso or cso.
@free2rhym:
You only need to install the f0 files to flash once.
@ruffyruff:
This step is for those who want to use the chunglam modded devhook. When he says copy back the files, he's assuming that you've had it in your memory stick before using this guide and want to install it back into your memory stick. If you don't need the chunglam mod, then you don't need to follow this step.
Create a folder called "iso" in the root of your memory stick and place your iso files there. To play this iso, you'll need to choose an iso in Devhook. There's more info on this in an older post by Kealvalro.

From the look of it, dumping the 3.02 files should be the same as 3.x since there isnt anything new but a security update. Ill try it out and see but it just gonna be a waste of space :P
Edit: I got the 3.02 files but I cant emulate it since there is no option to emulate so, were gonna have to wait for the a newer verison.

Just a suggestion. For part E) of the installation guide, you can have steps to do a fresh installation of the chunglam devhook instead of copying it from the old backed up copy. This ensures that everybody will all have the same latest chunglam after the guide. It would also help those who didn't have an earlier installation of chunglam too.

Quote: E)placing back your old devhook
just place all the files back two by two,overwrite if ask.it does not matter for us using chunglam everything works.don't drag all the files back to your memorystick all at once
coz it eats the space,not sure why but if u drag two by two until u finish.there is nothing wrong
this happens to everyone not only chunglam version.man placing back your backup files is sick,
sheik
What exactly do you mean by this? Do we just put mylaunchermod back on the memory stick? And do we have to delete anything? I'm a noob at these things so if you could just bear with me for a while. Thanks.
My PSP Firmware History: 2.60 had to return the PSP because it had a dead pixel > new PSP had firmware 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33 > 3.71 M33 with 1.50 kernel

What he means is that dont move all the files at the same time or else itll transfer slowly. Transfer them by sets of two's.

No you dont need a new version of DevHook. Just delete the files in ms0:/dh/301/ and then put the f0 from the decrypted 3.02 dump in there (make sure you rename it to "f0" as the folder output by PSAR Dumper is named "F0").
Then just select firmware 3.01 in DevHook and it will load 3.02.
Also, I've seen mods in the PSP-Hacks forums that allow you to put firmware 3.02 in ms0:/dh/302 and there is a new setting in the firmware menu fo r 3.02.

O_O...Look, the wat was the point of your post? To ask what you were supposed to do on section E? If so, kealvalros said that if your gonna transfer your devhook (0.44, 0.45, 0.46) files back, do it by transfering two files at a time so it wont take awhile to transfer.
@eternalis
Hm, didnt think about that.

You dont, devhook 0.51 BETA is for 2.71 and higher. You need to use devhook 0.4x to emulate 1.50.

Alright, so I used this tutorial a couple months ago to first get my 2.71 Ta-082 PSP going to play ISO/CSO files. Additionally, I was able to emulate 1.5 so I could use my emulators and other programs. In the last week I updated again (after formatting my mem stick) and went through the tutorial again with all the newest download files. The ISO/CSO files work great but my PSP will no longer jump down to 1.5... hence I have lost the ability to use my emulators and other homebrew. Any tips? Am I missing something?
By the way... thank you for this tutorial. Before I found it I was just frustrating myself trying to get everything to work.

DevHook 0.51 can only emulate firmware 2.71 and higher.
To emulate 1.5 you will have to put DevHook 0.4X back onto your memory stick.

you must have touched the gameboot "@autotheme" in 1.50 when u were booting to devhook.this thing goes to black screen when booting 1.50.try to get the new installer and replace the "dh" folder and the "psp" folder in your memorystick then it should have no problem.
@TheReuturn sorry bro can't help u with that coz 2.8 with ta-082 cannot be downgraded but you can still play some of the homebrews but no devhook or iso can be emulated and i thought you went back to the store the change your psp..lol!!!!!

The only thing I don't like about this method is HEND. It's not the trouble of going to the photo menu and selecting HEND. It's the trouble of trying to get HEND to boot. It freezes too many times!
