Guys, I'm a noobs on PSP coz I just bought it 3 days ago.
Once I didn't notice about the cursed ta-082 and once I regret so much that I bought PSP fw 2.71 with ta-082. Then I read many forums about PSP and I succesfully devhook my PSP to fw 3.02 using devhook 0.51 beta and now there's no more regret for having PSP, thanks to all of you who develop the devhook software.
But there're things I'd like to ask :
1) I have a 2 gigs MS so I put more than one ISO files on it but when I was in devhook menu, I couldn't choose which ISO files I'll play. Is there some way, that I missed, to choose which ISO files to play? It seems that devhook menu could only read one ISO file inside my MS, even I already put there more than one ISO files.
2) Is there already any updates for Devhook-ing? So that when my PSP got rebooting, it'd be no more back again to 2.71 again and again?
I'd really appreciate for your help....

it happened to me before...do a hard boot and go to photos run hend and after the reboot of 2.71 now running on hend...go to devhook 0.51 for 2.71, check your settings and make sure to remove the UMD in the drive before you start to run devhook. should work...

it simply means you are now running devhook...hopefully you have your ISOs in your ISO folder in the root of your memory stick...if you wanna run ISO just highlight the UMD image selection and press left or right in your D-pad to choose your ISO or if you wanna run a UMD just choose UMD disc. then close the menu...<b> DON'T ESCAPE DEVHOOK</B> wait for a while for your UMD to load and run the game...that's it!

for your first question...read my reply for neff...should help you out as well...for your second question...sorry after a hard boot you'll deactivate hend...so you cant run devhook. it means you'll be back in 2.71...but there's really no hassle in running hend and devhook again now is there? a little sacrifice for us who wanna run homebrews and ISOs...

Does DevHook emulates custom firmwares?
Now that we have 3.02 "perfectly" emulated on TA-082.. why can't we emulate a custom firware? In theory.. this could be even easier..

sorry if someone answered this already. The flipping of the buttons makes me insane. . . .is there a way to flip them back (i.e., I emulate 3.02 and the 'x' and 'o' buttons are flipped. Can I fix this for good?

nah jacopop i think it cant be emulated at the moment or maybe it wont be.well i was hoping for a safe downgrader to 1.5 once u have this there is no problem in upgrade to 2.71 or se-c.but maybe time will tell when it will be out.currently only 0okm knows about downgrading to 1.5 but he stop doing the downgrader becoz of a stupid frakin hacker that hack his gmail that is for us to send the psp code for hacking the psp so that he can downgrade it.wicked people man.but anyway still having fun with my psp.
thanks die_no helping out.sorry guys busy these days so hope there is a lot of people here would help u.coz i spent a lot of time in making the guide i was a bit tired.but if can i will still drop by
@pho_man are saying that ur original firmware cannot stick the wallpaper or the emulated firmware.if your original firmware cannot stick its wallpaper then ur psp must have crashed once and when to the Bsod.well to fix that u have to think this over first.for me i had that problem in my original firmware so i downgrade it to 2.60 then update it back to 2.71.then it works very well now.
@BrendanL i think u can delete some files in the iso,and place the dummy file so that it shrinks.try asking some users here maybe they can help u
@Kierz77 well cant help i too only have one memorystick that is 1gb i can only play 1 or 3 games in it coz too small well lol...
it is funny thought i currently now have 185 psp games but i dont play some of them dont know why but i collect them.
bishop22,well there is a homebrew that can switch the buttons back but i not sure which one,but if u want i different way there is always a longer way that is emulating the 3.02 JP version.but the firmware i am using in this thread is all us version except 2.71 jp.well that is all up to you to do it.i think the firmware they have it in sony try googling it.the installing is the same..
well guys hope u can solve your problwm if u have any coz it is christmas.must go out these days often as can.and to ALLLL U TA-082 USERSSSS MERRYYYY!!! CHRISTMASSSS,bump hope there will be a downgrader to 1.5 for us soon!!for real i mean
and merry christmas lilfree22,eternalis,hexitnow,pspjunior,vampiro93,gzach,hackaday and all my good buddys here in the forum,WISH u the best christmas u ever HAD,good luck guysss

That's odd...
I put 3 games (Ace Combat X, Need For Speed Rivals, Pinball ) on my ISO folder on the root of the MS, then I've tried as you said, but when I went to Game menu >> UMD >> it's only Ace Combat X showing up. Then if I tried pushing left ( D-button ) it directly went to >> Video Menu, and when I pushed right it directly went to >> Network Menu. I tried pushing L-button or R-button, it didn't react. It also didn't react by using analog stick to left or right.
Would you tell me where did I miss the thing to select ISO file to play?
Well, when my PSP got rebooting then back again to fw-2.71, sometimes it's so difficult to execute HEND. It frequently got stucked in the blue screen or the HEND-folder screen before it got off. I wish there'll a more stable Devhook or more executable HEND developed by people who care others that couldn't afford to buy original UMD.
All these times, I never turn off my PSP, just make it always in the sleep mode, coz I want it to be always in emulated fw-3.02.
Is there any disadvantages or even dangerous thing to my PSP if it always be in the sleep mode, not totally turned off?

sorry tazman, I can't help you. Anyways, has anyone tried converting mp3's to ATRAC3's files? They say it's suppose to reduce the size A LOT! Before when I had the songs mp3's, I had 23 MB left on my Memory Stick. After I converted the files to ATRAC3 I had 24 MB left. I only saved 1 MB!!!! What a waste of my time!
My PSP Firmware History: 2.60 had to return the PSP because it had a dead pixel > new PSP had firmware 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33 > 3.71 M33 with 1.50 kernel

the UMD image i was talking about is when you are in devhook menu (devhook 0.51 for 2.71)...not the UMD icon on the XMB. to go there, u must be in emulated 3.02 FW then press "HOME" button on your PSP.

to run ISOs, if you are a TA-082 user as I am...you must run HEND first. then after the reboot execute your choice of devhook and then you can play your ISOs...hope that helps! enjoy!

hi kealvalro,
your guide is awesome. helped me alot! one question tho about placing back your old devhook, do you mean this step but 2 files per time.?
open "devhook launcher for FW2.71" with WinRAR then move the folder [b]"src" to your memorystick root, now open "MS_ROOT" then move all the files straight to your memorystick root.overwrite if ask

Well, you just have to go to System Settings, System Information and you'll see it says System Software version 2.71. If it says this, then you have 2.71 firmware.
My PSP Firmware History: 2.60 had to return the PSP because it had a dead pixel > new PSP had firmware 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33 > 3.71 M33 with 1.50 kernel

I think he means place all the files from the old dh folder in the new dh folder.
