Thanks die_no!

I will give it another try later tonight. So I am guessing that since it is just emulating and can reset, I may need to do this several times down the road. Looks like I need to read some more posts and make sure I am running stuff right after the 3.02 is setup.

One more thing, is it normal that you have corrupted data files showing up after the emulation is setup?
Thanks again.

heres the site you can downgrade your 2.71 psp with : http://www.psp-haxors.com/ im doing it right now but im confused on some of his lingo:
# Run HEN-D if you are not already running it.
# Execute the idstoragechange.
what does he mean by run HEN-D? its just a bunch of files in that folder , does it mean he wants me to carry them over?
and what about the word EXECUTE?

please help i wanna get this show on the road ASAP.

this is easy, check this out

---Run HEN-D if you are not already running it.
--->2.open "henD" with WinRAR then inside you will see 3 folders and 2 files, open the folder called "MS_ROOT" then move all the files here straight to your memorystick root

this is done on the PSP.
execute it from GAME-->memory stick--

the downgrader actually works... its recommend that you have a freshly formatted memory before you downgrade.

Before you read any further i assume you know what hend does and run hombrew applications before and that you have a 2.71 if not read very carefully and ask questions on things you are not sure of before you downgrade.

k i just got this tutorial from psp updates and followed it and worked for me. before you do these steps u need to format your memorystick and get these files:

Warning: As always, there is a chance that you may brick your PSP running a downgrader, so please try this at your own risk and follow directions exactly.

[1.50 Firmware Update]

http://dl.qj.net/PSP-Firmware-1.50-File-...d/163/catid/163

[2.71 Homebrew Enabler (HEN-D)]

http://dl.qj.net/Homebrew-Enabler-for-2....11444/catid/114

[TA-082 Downgrader for 2.71 Firmware]

http://dl.qj.net/index.php?pg=12&fid=11950

DO NOT PUT A UMD IN YOUR PSP WHEN DOING THESE STEPS

1. extract 2.71 Homebrew Enabler (HEN-D) and copy everything in the ms-root folder to your psp root drive using usb mode, overwrite if asked.

2. Copy the UPDATE and idstoragechange folders (that you get from the TA-082 Downgrader for 2.71 Firmware file when you extract it) into /PSP/GAME/

3. Get the official sony 1.50 eboot in the [1.50 Firmware Update] zip file and put it in the /PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder with the name of UPDATE.PBP

4. when all of this is done exit usb mode and hard reset your psp. then turn it on back on

3.Run HEN-D by going into photos and clicking on a picture that says hend. then it should show you a blue screen and reset your psp automactically.

4. execute the idstoragechange. It needs 75% battery. It will change some keyes of your idstorage needed to downgrade the ta-082.

5. The program will exit to the XMB. Now execute the generic downgrade, which will show in the xmb as "Update X.YX" in the psp language. The generic downgrader will also need 75% battery. IT will downgrade your psp to 1.50.

6.At the end, it will ask you to press X to restart the psp. Do it.

7.If all went fine, you'll receive a blue screen telling you to press O. Do it, and reenter your settings. Welcome to 1.50.
If things didn't go that fine, you'll have a non-functional psp, aka brick.

hope this helps

Yes, removable disc is the root of your PSP. Create a folder in the same directory that has the folder PSP, Memory_Stick_duo.something, etc.

Yeah, I'm not going to try this downgrader even though I badly want to. There have been reports..... I mean, 1 report that they bricked their PSP. So I'm not going to try it even though I so BADLY want 3.02 OE-B. Just a quick question, can 3.02 OE-B run emulators/homebrew?

EDIT: For those of you wondering what the hell was I talking about (3.02 OE-B) since this was a downgrader to 1.50 and not to the Custom Firmware 3.02 OE-B, Dark_AleX said that once you have downgraded to 1.50, it is safe to upgrade to 3.02 OE-B.

My PSP Firmware History: 2.60 had to return the PSP because it had a dead pixel > new PSP had firmware 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33 > 3.71 M33 with 1.50 kernel

3.02 OE-B is like 1.50 with 3.02 features such as the offical ps1 emulator and other features as well. so yes it can run emulators and homebrew applications.

update: i just finished installing 3.02 OE-B on my 1.50 T-082 and I just wanted to comfirm that it does work

Well I might try the TA-082 downgrader once they make Reflash-X which un-bricks PSP's without the need of a modchip.

Haha, except you can't run a program on a bricked PSP because it's bricked.

I downgraded my psp and have the 3.02 OE-B feature on it.I'm actually not that impressed with it,but as you mentioned it does let you use the official ps1 emulator on it and that is kind of cool I thought. If you are going to attempt 3.02 OE-B you need to downgrade to 1.50,then install 3.02 OE-A first. Then install 3.02 OE-B which is just an update for OE-A,but it is not what you think though. To be honest I would stick with the official 2.71 firmware and just use devhook and emulate 1.50 for anything I need to do in 1.50.

actually 3.02 OE-B has built in iso and cso support :)

update: if some people are confused with 3.02 OE-B and its features here are some that i have heard on several websites:

-can run homebrew apps just like if you were in 1.50 firmware
-has built in iso and cso support, but you can still use devhook if you prefer it
-ps1 emulation
-recovery mode to downgrade to 1.50 firmware if your psp is semi-bricked
-no-umd support (I did not try this on my ta-082 3.02 OE-B yet though)
-has all the 3.02 firmware features

well thats all i know of the features of this firmware
