Hey people...finally I just purchased SAW III, along with a few other future DVD releases. 1st on the agenda is the now notorious SAW III, which I have not had the opportunity to back up. I have all the latest AnyDVD updates and beta versions along with the latest CloneDVD 2.9.0.3 and freeware if needed though I really only use Vob Blanker. It's my guess that it's not as tough as it's been talked about. I got Shottas done on a 2nd go round (I slept on the black screen)movie, menus, & extras. The sleeper for some is the SONY released Gridiron Gang. But I was able to back up this title with latest AnyDVD 6.1.0.7 and CloneDVD 2.9.0.3 and honestly few coasters. Arccos has definitely stepped up their game. All the freeware fans, I don't know how much longer the good free decrypting software will be free considering that Arccos is really going all out and aggressive. I'll keep you guys posted as to what my results are with SAW III.:p

The problem I've been seeing is more what accompanies the ARccOS and Puppetlock. They're messing with the structure big time and using bogus VTS and protected cells to throw off the copy software by making the video files appear non compliant. I just did Crank and Talladega Nights in full disc with RipIt4Me. Nice thing with RI4M, you have the logs to see what is going on. AnyDVD hadn't failed me in the past, but with these 2, it couldn't get it done with full disc. Like many people, I'm looking forward to Saw 3, but DVDFab Decrypter has already been updated for it and the latest update of FixVTS is supposed to help RI4M with it. No doubt AnyDVD will be up to speed. Early release Saw 3 files have been making their way to most major software support and it probably won't be an issue by the time of it's scheduled release.

SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!! SAW III backed up perfectly menus & extras using RipIt4Me 1.6.4.0 in combination w/DVD Decrypter encoded through CloneDVD2 2.9.0.3 a dreaded wait, but YES!!!!! "SWEET SUCCESS!" Hey can someone let SlySoft know they're LATE!!!!
FYI AnyDVD current, past, beta or otherwise: DOES NOT WORK ON THIS TITLE!!!!(Not on a full back up i.e. menus & extras, I tried);p Not yelling, just emphasizing the fact.:P

Tutorial??? You got the wrong guy but here's a link for the key component http://www.ripit4me.org/guide.html and as I stated you will need DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 (The last available version). All that I mentioned here is Freeware! I believe you can aquire DVD Decrypter here at AD, if not google it. These two free softwares work together. I used RipIt4Me's Wizard mode which worked pretty fast and created a PSL, clicked on it which opened up DVD Decrypter I then selected to back up or rip the DVD to my HD and finally I used CloneDVD 2.9.0.3 which is not freeware $39.99 to encode & back up the file created in DVD Decrypter to disc.....and BAMMMM!SUCCESS!:ptrue story.;P

Yeah..you guys are talking movie only with those programs. That's the easy way and sure your preference. Just know if you ever choose to do the whole title, then your in deep water. It's now no impossibility but definitely more complicated.:P

SAW III burned my first coaster since November 2002.
Installed AnyDVD v6.1.0.7 and it was solved. I rip and burn with DvdXcopy Platinum v4.0.4.15 RF (probably the last one still using it) and got a copy of movie only in less than 15 minutes. Tried to rip a copy to my hard drive using DVDDecrypter but failed at VTS_07_1.VOB and VTS_15_1.VOB. Skipping these files caused a 10 second rip of nothing.
Long story short, if you have DvdXcopy Platinum v4.0.4.15 RF and AnyDVD v6.1.0.7 this DVD is a snap, at least for movie only.

You're right Blinkie, a lot of dvd players will most likely have problems playing the originals.

@paschal93, I have not used DVDFab in a long time and I don't currently have it installed at my PC. I'd suggest that you just follow the same steps to back up these films as I did, hey I did use RipIt4Me which is free and you could use FixVTS where I used CloneDVD2 2.9.0.3 for the same final result.:P

You've got the right program, but I think you may have a few things mixed up. FixVTS is for processing the ripped files so they will be DVD compliant. CloneDVD2 is a transcoder, much like Recode2, DVDCoopy5, and Shrink. Plus there's more to RI4M than just DVD Decrypter, they're all important for getting the job done. RI4M controls the other programs, but it also does it's part in the PSL creation and file cleanup. The FixVTS processes the video files for compliance. Shrink serves 2 purposes, it tests the files for compliance with the quick analysis. If the analysis works, you can usually rely on the files being good. Shrink is also a good transcoder. At this point the files can be transcoded with Shrink and burned with Decrypter or you can transcode with your choice of software, in your case CloneDVD, and burn with whatever gets the job done. But always set up RI4M by having the last version of DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter installed. Then install RI4M with FixVTS. Currently make sure the latest version of FixVTS is installed. If not download it and replace the version in the RI4M program folder. Yesterday 1.6.0.3 was available (download here at AD) and the RI4M installer was still using 1.6.0.2. RI4M is a complete package and isn't intended for use without all the parts. But once the files have been cleaned up and processed, you can use whatever software you feel comfortable with to transcode and burn.
