its registery files thats it u delete them and they just regenerate to default settings this may work u will prob get the blue screen of death as well while it regenerates....

I tried to reboot to the 1.5 from a 2.81. I ran the software but when i turned the screen back on and held R nothing happened. When i looked at the file it said Corrupted Data and will not open.
What did i do wrong?

HI. IM NEW HERE AND I WAS WONDERING IF I CAN GET SOME HELP ON MY PSP. IT CURRENTLY HAS DARK ALEX'S 3.10 OE-A FIRMWARE. I WAS WONDERING IF ANYBODY KNOWS, OR IF THEY CAN DIRECT ME TO THE RIGHT PATH ON HOW TO DOWNGRADE IT BACK TO THE SONY FIRMWARE? I FOUND A SITE THAT SAID CREATE A FOLDER IN MY "GAMES" FOLDER WITH AN EBOOT FILE THAT WAS RENAMES TO "UPGRADE". ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED THANKS

hey maximumtc, you need to get whats called a recovery winstaller, it comes with instructions
just curious why would you want to go back to the sony firmware?

i believe that the recovery only works for custom firmwares and it does not work with the legit sony firmwares. Just a question, why would you want to go to the legit sony firmware anyway?

depends.... if its 1.5 thats ok and i dont think that ya can update to offical versions wid custom firmware dark alex patched it to stop any n00bs or w.e upgradin'

NeoLance you can not do that in a 2.81 psp.
maximumtc you can update from 3.10 OE-A to 3.40 OE.(or use the recovery and go back to 1.5)

oh well i was surprised that i didnt brick when i used the 3.03 downgrader because for a start 1.5 was never released in the uk
version 2 was the first in uk and i was using a american eboot because it wasent released in england....
i thought i had 1 in 4 of not brickin it

Download the recovery files and put them in the proper directory.

this is such i big problem: i recovered. i got the blue screen. pressed 0. my psp shut off. i started it, then it went all black.. cant see anything but can hear. then i leave it on usb mode.. if i dont touch it in a minut or so.. i can see the screen how its suppose to be.. if i touch it.. itgoes black.. WATS UP???

I've heard you can fix that by pressing the brightness button but I've never experienced the problem myself. It might fix it for a second... :p

Okay how do you know if you have 2.71 SE? i had mine downgraded to 1.5 wife was playng and somehow updated it to 2.71 but how could i get the 3.03 oe c? Is the GTA disc needed? Or just the 3.03 upgrade?

go to psp-hacks.com and search for "easy 2.71 downgrader." No need for anything except for the app. Very easy to use and reliable.
