Enjoy
And @ anyone who cannhelp, opened topmenu_plugin in hex workshop, and have found where it says "Network Update", it is as easy as just changing it to say "Recovery Mode"? Do I need to keep the same amount of letters and spaces as before? It's a shame there is nothing to preview it in really, any help much appreciated as always.

On Network Update, any character spaces you don't use, just replace them with spaces.
Did you see the post I made answering your question a few pages back, npdyna?
Man, I have the sickest XMB now. I stole an idea from hex, ("psp-haxxors" instead of "free space") but the XMB is just sick. All my icons look great. I'll post a little later on.
Now to learn how to make my own icons so I can customize it even more...

I just had a play around, but couldn't figure out how to change it to "Recovery Mode" and have it display properly
I think I had .R.e.c.o.v.e.r.y. .M.o.d.e. ..... in the hex editor but it came out on the XMB as Recover_______ so I just gave up. Could it be because "Recovery" is one letter more than "Network"? Not sure.
Also, the Recovery prx has an annoying habit of booting the SCE logo, and therefore the UMD, even if you have it disabled. So I just changed it all back. Did change the XMB sounds as well, not sure if I like them. Gonna see tonight, but I miss my clicks.

Just change it to Reboot PSP. :? You can always do that. Easier, since it has fewer characters. I have yet to mess w/ it, but I'll let you know what I find. Also, you might wanna try XVI32. That's the hex editor I've always used and it works like a charm.
One more thing: I can't believe you don't like the new XMB sounds. Those clicks are annoying. ^_^

Honestly, it seems everyone has diff problems. I guess I have had good luck, b/c none of this has ever happened to me. But yea, most ppl I tt about this are saying they have odd probs. No autorun works fine for me, but do you have it enable in the SETTINGS menu via XMB?

Ha ha I changed back to the clicks already! That other XMB sound is too much like the original error sound, which my mind has come to associate with bad things in the year I have had my PSP! It freaked me out slightly when I heard it after putting the bogus sounds on.
Not too fussed about that Recovery Mode prx, also didn't realise you still had to hold R when the PSP resets, I thought it took you to Recovery Mode with one click. I might put the Reboot PSP there instead, just so I don't have the loser Network Update.
I really like all this stuff thats come about in the last few weeks, everyone has really individual PSPs now, its cool!
You in the UK Guano? Just cos I saw you call someone a git in another thread, which made me think you must be a fellow Brit.

Not from UK, but I watch a lot of Red Dwarf. :D UK sayings are just catchy, I guess. If you're around that kind of thing every day, (as I am coming to these forums) you become part of it, sometimes unwillingly or subconsciously. So...

Use the 60x34 "01-12.bmp" and it will work. You can't use custom wallpapers and have the azura effect set as well.

Idk the exact strings, but if you look thru, you'll see the labels eventually in plain English.
System/Photo/Music/Video/Game
Except, they'll look more like:
s.y.s.t.e.m or system. It's fairly close to the top of the .rco file.

I was gonna say, I've NEVER seen anything like that!!! Can you upload your tompenu??!! Please!!! lol

Thanks for the heads up on that other hex editor Guano, its a lot nicer than the one I was using, and I got it sorted now. I used the Reboot prx rather than the Recovery one. Basically the same but you have to press L.

i grabbed your vistatheme pack and saw the bmp- i noticed its a full 300x170- is that the trick? i see the res is a bit different too, if i changed the bmp i have now to those specs, which i like, u think it will work?

Idk if 300x170 will still work. That's a res from back in the day when we used to use PSPersonalize. You could give it a try, but it might screw up some icons. It also might sometimes make your entire background go all white. But try it; it won't hurt anything.

Did you see the battery icon on Maxconsole that is the lit cigarette which burns down to the butt?!
So jokes, lol, but I am not a smoker, so it's not really my thing.
What do you flash to change the battery icon, is it in an .rco?
