could you get ahold of the umd for grand theft auto:liberty city stories
the one with update 2.00 on it? if so u could do the 3.03 Downgrade
if not i think its version 2.82 you can downgrade from, but im not sure so search the forums

Thanks sk8flawzz For the link, i read Here is a guide for downgrading any current PSP hardware version
(TA-079 - TA-086) from firmware 2.81-3.03 to 1.50.
I have firmware 2.71 on mine,

so u go ahead and upgrade ur version to the official sony 3.03, which is in the thread of the link i sent, read the steps

my psp version is 3.40...the standard one...can i still run the 3.40 OE installation or do u eed to have a OE already to run it?

no you cant use the OE version...
youre stuck at 3.40 until a downgrader is released

Ive tried to update, when starting the update, The psp just shuts down after a few seconds, and i manualy have to switch back on, And its as it was still on 2.71

yes it does support that resolution, i use 720x480 on pspvideo9 for my dvds tho, and damn they look awesome, about 700MB for a 2 hr movie

So if I update to 3.40 OE-A, Can I still go back to 3.03 OE-C if I don't like it? And what are the advantages of having the 3.40 OE-A? Is there a significant difference?

yea u can always go back by using the winstaller recovery to 1.5
the biggest advantage i think is the higher resolution video

I used one of those programs designed for dummies when I went from official Sony FW to 3.10 OE... which made it really easy... except now I need to research how to upgrade to 3.40oe because even though I'm running custom FW I really have no idea how to upgrade :)

i think in the beggining of this thread theres a link to the 3.40OE-A upgrade, with the instructions needed to do it sucessfuly
also i think there are already winstallers to do it as well

hey guys, I am on 3.03oe-c, But i used winstaller to flash it so I've never done it manually before. I found this (http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1132) for 3.4 OE-A, is it safe to go from 3.03->3.4 or should you use recovery to go BACK to 1.5 before re-flashing to 3.4? I heard there is no need to do that. Finally, the psp-hacks file doesn't say whether it is for TA-082 or not but I guess if you already have custom firmware then it doesn't matter? Thanks...
-the file is only 133kb, I'm not sure if that's right or not.

I think I found the easiest way to upgrade. If anyone's interested I found an "Easy Installer" here:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1134
This program will upgrade any custom firmware to 3.40 OE-A, just follow the simple instructions in the read me.
Questions:
I've upgraded to 3.40, yet on my memory stick I have the following folder:
PSP/GAME310
but I don't have:
PSP/GAME340
Is this just a matter of reformatting the memory stick with the new FW? Can I just rename GAME310 to GAME340 instead of reformatting?

if someone could please help, i have 2.00 FW right now and want to upgrade to 3.40 custom oe-a... only problem is you have to have 1.50, but they dont have a 2.00 DG so i would have to upgrade to 2.5 or 2.6 FW correct? someone please help!

Regarding Mapthis and my PSP with v3.30 OE-A Im not sure if Im posting in the Right place but I hope some 1 in here can Help me. I have just purchased the PSP GPS 290, My question is..Do i have the right version to run it ? Or do I need to wait or make any changes to my psp ? Please help me..... Thank you for your time. Bye.
